NEW Gen 2 Jabra Elite 10 / 8 Active - My thoughts 🤔 

Seems like these would work well for that purpose 👍🏻

The 10’s are so good. Already one review has the gen 2 for the 10’s as not really much of an upgrade but the 8’s are a bigger upgrade

​@@austinslater4773In that review that you are referencing, I found that while the ANC on the Elite 10 Gen2 didn't sound like a big upgrade over the Gen1, the ANC was already better vs the 8, so maybe it had less to improve. Where I saw a huge improvement was the "Hear Through" feature, where it sounded much better than the Gen1 and the Elite 8 Active!

I did enjoy England. So much to see, would love going back. I can't wait to look at the new buds when they launch here in my country.

If you're still good to return them.. why not? You can always return the gen 2 if you don't like them.

@@B21-R after looking at some of the specs, the gen 2 version really doesn't appear to offer any significant improvements over the gen 1 version to warrant returning. In fact, the gen 2 version might possibly be a downgrade in some areas. Yes, they now have that LE case that can bring Bluetooth audio to some devices, but what devices in 2024 don't already offer Bluetooth audio compatibility? Gen 1 supposedly has LE hardware built into the earbuds themselves. So, Gen 1 owners should be seeing that promised update before the end of the 4 quarter 2024. Gen 2 specs don't even mention it outside of the case. I also believe that the latency will be much lower on the gen 1 earbuds because of that fact. Especially, if you're using an android device. I will stick with the gen 1 and wait on that LE update. My guess is that Jabra is going to phase out the gen 1 version, and only the gen 2 version will be available for purchase after stock is depleted.

Just saw the 8 active at Best Buy on sale for $129. The gen 2 for $229

That was disappointing to hear! I was totally set on buying the Elite 10 Gen 1 or 2 but after this news I'm less sure. Even though they say the buds will be supported, I'm not sure how confident I am going into this. Should I still buy the Elite 10 or consider something else?

​@@emadahmed3I completely agree that it clouds my decision to purchase now; although, if I'm honest with myself, Jabra doesn't have the best track record in terms of support anyway. In my eyes, Jabra has become the nVIDIA of the wireless audio world --- they have some of the best tech (short of codecs) in terms of call quality, anc, multipoint, and hear through, but they are no longer willing to put their tech into the hands of the masses for a reasonable price, especially when they can take advantage of the elderly by selling medical grade hearing devices for many, many times the BoM costs!

Not likely. The case and earbuds has to talk to each other, and I reckon the old earbubs wont talk to the new case.

Thanks! It might or not. ESS Sabre is in a class of its own, could definitely resolve better than the tiny DACs in phones.

They're only rolling that update to Gen 2, so I'd say yes

I have the Soundcore liberty 3 Pro's and really enjoy their sound at the moment but want to upgrade to a premium pair of earphones, the only thing that matters to me is sound quality, what would you recommend.

​@@michaell676That's really a subjective thing that depends on sound preference, age of ears (yes, the older a man gets the more his sound bandwidth narrows sadly, sigh! Lol). I think a great buy here in England at the moment on eBay are the Technics AZ60' for as low as £70/$90. They are second hand and don't have all the bells and whistles that the very, very current buds have but they do have a few and a great app. I would recommend this kind of halfway strategy that saves you a lot of money but still getting premium audio quality (what you said you are looking for). This way can help you figure out if it's worth spending 4x as much on new premium buds because you might not even be able to tell the difference in audio quality? That's not meant to be rude but many people can't. Anyway, you get my drift. Just trying to help. Good luck with it.

Not closing down per se, just exiting the TWS and headphones market.

How much? That was hard to say, I can still hear nearby people talk (medium ANC) may due to its partial in-ear tip thing but the engine and overall noise is dead silent. And full ANC has some noise from it so not really recommend if you focus on noise cancelling part.

I would certainly use that on a plane. Not all flight entertainments support bluetooth 🤷🏻‍♂️

For you to take it out of context is clearly not done in malice since it’s clear you are new to this channel. However I am disheartened by this comment after spending thousands of dollars on earbuds and headphones over 8 years, and being the first on RU-vid to break the Sony battery issue as well as countless videos covering software updates that impact the performance of earbuds from different brands. @@IMHO88-dm1xf I spent $1000 on Bose QC Ultra and AirPods Max because viewers want me to compare them to the Sonos Ace which was loaned to me. If your perspective is changed because the Jabras are loan units I don’t know what to say.

It's just my perspective on loan units from manufacturers is different to the units reviewers physically buy with their own money - this carries more weight for me because you have actually spent your hard earned money on the product. Like with the Bose Ultra and AP Max headphones you had just mentioned, (that explains why you didn't have them on your flight with you to the UK). I'm so looking forward to that comparison video (and I am a subscriber to your channel). Please don't take it the wrong way, I'm not questioning your transparency, like I said before, just keeping you guys on your toes. Just curious, since you said you like the Sonos Ace and they are a loan unit, do you think you'll buy yourself a pair? I do realise how much work and effort you put into your videos.
