Heizou isn't only the first hand-to-hand fighter, he is also the very first male catalyst user! Before him, every catalyst user was very witch like. But after Heizous release, the catalyst became waay more unique in how characters use it
The Kokomi that you love so much is by far the best healer in the game. In a co-op, if I see a Kokomi, I tend to stay close to her because her jellyfish is literally a lifesaver.
I highly recommend the teaser trailers to watch along with the character demos. Not every character has a teaser trailer, so they will go much quicker. The Character Demos have a balance of gameplay and showing the character's personality. The Character teasers show more of the character's lore and backstory.
Aaaaa I see a Kokomi fan!!! She's my favorite too! She hasn't had any rerun for a long time already and because of that, I think she'll have one soon. If you wanna pull for her, you can start saving up primogems now~
I've played Genshin since Version 2.2 and I still don't have Kokomi. I rarely spend money to for pulls (wishes), I've lost the 50/50 everytime to Diluc.
We do have similar tastes I think. Kokomi is my favorite together with another you have liked a lot. Another one I love is YunJin. The last part, which is unexpected, is because she sings Chinese Opera which is not similar to occidental opera. Pretty awesome to learn about chinese culture thanks to a videogame if you ask me. Search a bit about it so you can understand a little. She even has 2 VA's which one is a renown chinese opera singer.
Lots of interesting characters. Not sure when we'll get to it but this Japan themed area will probably be my favorite. I always liked that vibe and aesthetic in games
First comment. Most of characters you saw were from Inazuma. Ayaka and Raiden Shogun are my 2 favorite characters. Inazuma is influenced by Japanese culture and cities.
Out of all of the Inazuma chars, Yae Miko is my fav and is actually my fav female char in the game to this date. I love mischievous, mysterious, and intelligent chars, which she clearly is. The timing of her banners are the worst though and I technically don't need her yet, but rest assured I'll get her eventually because I love her gameplay. Also it's nice to see someone recognize that Yae has the fox motif since she is a kitsune I believe. Of course you'll notice that not all new chars during the Inazuma cycle are Inazuman. Often when certain annual events or new permanent quests appear, we'll get new chars from previous regions. Like one of the biggest recurring events in the game the game's version of the Chinese New Year- Lantern Rite. They always come out with a new 5 star and 4 star chars from Liyue. Like in this cycle you saw Shenhe (another fav char) and Yun Jin. One thing I recommend you do whenever there are new banners is to do the Test Runs for they give you free primogems and you always get to try out the 5 stars up for grabs and a few 4 stars. It's a good way to see if you want a certain char so I highly recommend that.
Aloy was a free character, a cross-promotion for the then-upcoming Horizon Forbidden West. She is now unobtainable. TBH ths crossover felt weird. As if Mihoyo weren't into it at all, and only did the minimal contractual obligations. Compare this to the Honkai Impact 3rd crossover with Neon Genesis Evangelion, and that's a whole different story. Oh well.
Kujo Sara is a Tengu (a type of supernatural being from Japanese folklore often depicted with wings). Since Inazuma is heavily based on Japan a lot of characters are based on various yokai.
Just take the game step by step and you'll get to the region you wanted soon. Just enjoy the game and make sure you do the big 3 which is - materials management - elemental reactions compositions - 100% explorations (all archon,world,side quests and get all treasures and solves puzzles) Keep smiling :)

Kokomi's design is my favourite too, I love blue and water. Her looking like a magical girl is a bonus point too :D She's still very useful for many teams, so if she has a re-run, go for her! Her, Yae and a Dendro character make a very good team. You can currently get a very good free shield character (Kirara) from the summer event.
Itto Paimon's rival, she calls him the shepherd father (cow), Itto's character is childish, noisy, and likes to create festivals which often makes Sara angry.
Hi, just wanted to add that during the anniversary we'll be able to get a standard banner character for free! (Maybe you already know, I just watched their livestream) If you don't know yet who to choose, I can recommend Tighnari or Keqing, they are both still good damage dealers. I personally really like Tighnari's homing arrows, but Keqing is also very nice to play.
Yoimiya (the Firework archer) has one of my favorite quests so far, very pretty and melancholic Ayaka (The first girl with a fan) also has a cute story quest and it reminded me to a charecter from another game, casually als a white haired girl and casually with the same VA in japanese Inazuma is kinda boring half part of the time and pretty annoying/dangerous the other half 😂 It sill has amazing charecters and moments
In my opinion, the best team is Raiden, Nahida, Arlecchino and Kokomi. I miss Kokomi, but I already have enough pita to get her, so it remains to be seen when she will have a banner
Weapons in Genshin don't matter that much after having some experience on how to use the characters even heavy weapons can feel so fast or a bow character that doesn't need to be good at aiming or even using the bow skills and passives with the ult that make the gameplay feels different from character to another
