@@CreepergeddonTheGamer it's unfortunate that Supergiant is obscure cause she was supposed to be right there with the rest of the black order in the mcu
She pairs really nicely with Black Swan too. Black Swan lets you dump some free 1 costs along with SG to keep prio if you want to then dump something like Alioth.
So with Zabu, you can play both Absorbing Man and Grandmaster on 5, then Alioth on 6. If you happen to have priority on 4 when you play Supergiant, what can the opponent do vs Alioth in all three lanes?
Great vid as always! Took a break from the game for a few months and i honestly dont know why. Randomly started play last mont and was thinking "why did i ever stop?"
awesome vid Cozy. Thanks for always making dope content. Another decent Supergiant play: Turn 3 Electro, Turn 4 Supergiant, Turn 5 Hela, Turn 6 Modok. Its way less telegraphed than the Invisible Woman version of that setup and not as easily countered. Gonna try some stuff with Abs Man today
Hey guys I just wanted to let y'all know about an interaction I had today with super giant. The cards are revealed after end of turn effects at locations. So playing a card on rickety bridge is safe with super giant bc the end of turn effect procs before the card reveal.
Same with cards like Attuma whose ability checks at the end of turn. The end of game is not considered end of turn, so Attuma doesn't kill itself. Great card to throw down after SG.
Cozy sometimes designs these decks with very few low cards, so when you experiment with running them you end up looking at like a 6/6/5/4 in your starting hand more half the time LOL. Pretty much unplayable decks for practical purposes, but fun to look at in "perfect scenario" situations I guess.
21:48 Could you, please, explain me why everyone hates the Great Web? I appreciate that location beacause it encourages to play cards there and play in the other two locations in the last turns: it requires skill, the luck effect is really small and it interacts interestingly with cards like Jeff or supergiant... I rather hate X mansion: I always storm it away when I can...
Didn't even think about keeping opponents cards unrevealed as well. Thought this was a bizarre card at first glance and just wrote her off as a late game invisible woman to give discard just a little bit more ammo.
Works maybe as an enabler for combo discard with daken? Tho idk if this is more viable than straight up magik or ravonna Turn 3 daken Turn 4 super giant Turn 5 modok Turn 6 arnim zola?
I just want to say that these two decks made me do 40 ranks in just 3 days. I switched Miss Marvel with Omega Red because it makes it easier to gain priority, but the effectiveness is just INSANE, absolutely nobody expects that Absorbing Man-Alioth combo
Hey cozy when you do a star review maybe add an indicator of location resistance or something. Maybe it’s not necessary for the individual card but maybe the whole deck it’s in.
Ain't absolutely no way they are going to buff this card once they see the overall hate for the double allioth play. Those are not the plays SD usually wants to be prevalent
The problem with Cozy decks is that once he releases a video every game I play is against a Cozy deck. I need to see you cooking more so I can be on the frontline!
This is one of those instances where the bottleneck nature of the Spotlight Caches and the lack of agency leads to a ton of FOMO. Hopefully she doesn't take off and end up and in every other deck, because trying to save 6K tokens is a slow, slow grind.
I don't see her as being that great, When you lose because you don't get your turn 5 card like Lady Jane or Sera or whatever its a big feels bad but if my opponent is playing a 5 power card on turn 4 most of the time I'm going to be happy about it.
Correct. Which means Alioth wipes them out no matter what. He wipes out all unrevealed opponent cards. Similar to if Invisible Woman is hiding cards, Alioth will take them out regardless of the turn they are played.
right but if u have prio, you'll not only eat their turn 5 cards at that location, but their turn 6 cards too (if they happen to play them where u play Alioth). If they have prio, they can Alioth all ur cards lol
This ctrl deck give me old spiderman abs man vibes. Second dinner gonna def fix it, i feel gross abusing it but free ranks are free ranks. Very unfun to play against double farts
Just a random mid level player opinion here, but I’d say she’s worth 6k if you really hate or struggle against certain cards (like leech or Sera) and she has some great potential offensive combos that smarter people then I will figure out. I’d say give her a pass if you don’t have many issues with turn 5 plays, or if you run a deck that doesn’t interact with the other side much (like destroy) if something like that is your main playstyle she’s prolly also worth a miss….. but as Cozy said you’ll want to learn how to play against her bc I think you’ll see her in a lot of disruption and combo decks. Hope my only slightly informed opinion helps.
@@joseph2000117 I ended up in the run below that but I had the same issue, and in conquest. Never failed, always 1st or 2nd in gold league. Drove me crazy. Just sat there today counting the hours until she arrived lol.
Nightcrawler is the only other card similar to Jeff, I’d just replace him with another card that goes with whatever your deck theme is. As for Marvel it’s similarly hard to replace bc the closest effect to her is: Mr. Fantastic/Omega Red/Klaw. All poor substitutes. There really isn’t one for Marvel at all, but Jeff you should easily find something that has a good effect but different than Jeff. Not a very positive answer but I hope it helps. (If there’s a better answer hopefully someone smarter then me comments lol)
Leech should be changed! It's too op! How do you counter a High Evo user with Leech in his deck when the only way to counrer High Evo are Wong decks or a High Evo deck too.
Supergiant should never have been conceptualized. Her ability is broken and anti-fun. More than half the decks that exist find turn 5 to be crucial to the overall strategy. I would say as high as 90% of decks really need turn 5 to reveal. Sure you get rid of some annoying Leech stuff... but at what cost? Making most of the decks everyone has been playing with obsolete? Basically going to be a month of just Destroy and Discard. Plus get ready for Alioth taking out the opponents unrevealed cards in the lane from turns 5 and 6. So you'd be screwed to try and play in the same lane without priority because Alioth will just take out both cards.. This is going to be a disaster of a meta. It's going to be just as frustrating as Loki or Alioth's release months. When will Second Dinner learn not to make broken cards?
So i know people are going to complain about alioth but alioth here isnt the problem the real problem is supergiant being played on turn 4...i hope they dont nerf alioth again feel its in a perfect spot but with supergiant this week for sure a skyrocket use of alioth so im going to stay away from ladder this week
They should delete Supergiant entirely and rework her. She can't be played on turn 5 with her effect because turn 6 is the official last turn anyway so it wouldnt do anything unless its a limbo game which wouldnt make sense from a card design perspective. She's too broken and shouldnt even be in the game.
I propose SD make a promise on every card release, and that is to not change the card for a period, say 3 months. There's good aspects to balancing a card, but if that happens shortly after release, it feels terrible. Whether it's a good card getting a nerf, it feels bad because you buy it for the face-up value, then it gets nerfed. And for the weaker cards, buffing it shortly after the buy window closes also feels bad.
100% agree that if they’re gonna buff or do a massive change to a new card it should not be outside the buy window. And if it’s a buff, they should pop it back up for ppl to get a chance at the “new” ability/buff. Nerfs, I WANT to agree with you, but if a card is seriously broken, I want it nerfed and fixed sooner than later. However, I think there’s still a good solution. You can debate on the length of time, but if a new card is changed within….. 1 month (or 2,3, whatever) if the card gets a big buff; give ppl a chance to get it again, if it’s a big nerf; give ppl a window after the nerf (like a week) to refund the card for your tokens or keys, whatever you spent on it. I know it won’t happen bc of “MONEY!” but there are several solutions out there to this problem SD has created that are fair to both sides. Allows SD to fix mistakes quickly, but also doesn’t players for SD’s mistakes.
