I'm personally more of a fan of the Velkhana HBG because of its far superior reload speed and that it gets moving reload with Spread 3. It gets to "Very Fast" reload with only two Reload Speed decos and "Low" recoil with two Recoil Down decos. Garangolm's HBG needs three Recoil Down to get to the same "Low" recoil and needs three Reload Speed just to get to "Average" reload. But the extra deco slots are nice, and it has significantly better raw.

what do you think about using the amatsu skill that let's you reload with the switch

I might try fitting Kushala 3 in mine. I really, really hope the final update comes with Absorber+, Quickload+, and Thrift+.

I use Magnamalo and Velkhana hbgs for this build 100% the fastest reload is just too good to give up for the safety plus they have good slots as well and come with sticky 3s for occasional ko. Oddly enough I didn't consider Ballistics to be super important for my version of the build save for very specific matchups like Valstrax where the weak point is high off the ground. The default distance isn't terrible and the build is already good at just sticking close to the monster and the wire bug slide is a good enough distance closer as well.

Many would say Righteous Varka but nah, Golcolps is still the best Spread HBG for reasons you stated. Large clip, still the best raw and lots of slots and I'm one of the rare few who actually uses Shrapnel 3 in many situations Spread 3 with Ballistics won't reach. Great shotgun.

You got Spare Shot 1 on your Helmet and Spare Shot 3 on your Chest through Augmentation, in total 4 out of 3. For your information :)

Hi im new to MHR and only at investigation level 130ish, MR close to 100. it's still a long way till MR 180 to unlock both Risen Vals and Shagala(?) to craft the arm leg and boots, is there anything I can substitute from where I am right now?

Hello ang.. can you build one LBG just special to fight primordial malzeno, but the core skill must have hellfire cloak, frenzied Bloodlust, Bloodlust, powder Mantle, wind Mantle 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

2 weeks on, I was able to make a version of this build with both Crit Eye 7 AND Agitator 5, which may be overkill, but Agitator IS extra raw, so it's not like the maxed out Affinity is overkill. I did give up Spare Shot 3, Kushala Blessing 3 and Guard Up 3, but you really don't need Guard Up for a whole lot, and a full set of Spread 3 combines should be able to get through most hunts unless you're not hitting weak spots a lot. Meanwhile, a single level of Evade Extender can be enough to help you avoid the few attacks that need Guard Up to block, like Risen Shagaru's standing laser and its nuke. And yes, it's using Velkhana's HBG.

Just don't bring shield hbg vs lv 250++ Risen Shagaru. The chip dmg is insane. Even with G5 Emb3 Tuneup1.

Okay normally I'm all for non-discrimination about who is valid and what and 'gatekeeping is always bad' but I will be a corpse before I become someone who calls Fivers 'vets'. The first four gens, yeah, that was the games objectively improving over time, but World and Rise are practically a different game and no I will not call 'someone whose idea of the iconic Heavy Bowgun is Glutton and not something like Gravios Gigacannnon' a 'veteran gunner'. Yall are SPOILED by Move-And-Shoot, SPOILED I say. :P
