The Dragonfire was just recently a Zen Market purchase item, so to nerf it so soon afterwards is disgusting and should be illegal. People who've bought this item, should get a full immediate refund.
@viktornemedi Aye, I was aware of that 👍 I didn't add that as nobody would buy the pack to just recieve a drop chance (one in ten average). The week before this current mod, the Dragonfire belt item was put on sale in the Zen Store (Aragon did a wee upload on it). It's disgusting to nerf this item after the fact and/or for no reason. Items getting nerfed like this should either be.... Refunded or only nerfed to acquired/equipped items from that point onwards. Streamers like Aragon should call out Cryptic etc for this blatant theft.
I don't get why Aragon blanks negative posts towards Cryptic and/or its dodgy store items (even though they are clearly in the wrong like this instance). Cryptic posted this rare choice pack store exclusive one week before the mod release. Then they added it as a reward option once the sale was complete. That alone was a disgusting greedy sales tactic to steal money from the community. Now they are nerfing those very items people bought Iin good faith. So those that bought from the store or bought the battle pass buyout to get thus item, have been done up like a kipper. Blatant theft by Cryptic!!! If streamers like Aragon don't call out Cryptic for this nonsense, they will continue to do it. Maybe Aragon doesn't actually care his community have been cheated out of their money (I think he does BTW, I just think he's afraid to question these paymasters). I say these things because he's completely ignored this post, which is unusual for him.
One thing to note in single-target boss fights is that the Owlbear has essentially a 0 cast time, allowing you to quickly use it at the same time as your daily and/or mount power and not lose any personal damage. Compared that with the other belt items that have around 1s cast times, which usually costs you a few at-wills during the artifact call.
Yeah for Gond! I spent all my time refining the mats last year, will do the same this year. Also has lots of gold ready, hope to make some AD. Wonder if they will add more goodies to the bags like higher level insignias.

I still use Pseudodragon because of this. My mount, companion, belt item and vanity pet are all dragons. It's gonna be a shame when I'll have to remove some of them :(
Make decent doohickey Nerf it… Buff it.. then nerf again… Nerf it more… Now buff it, then nerf it some more…. Now a buff and rework? I feel a nerf coming on…? 😮
that nerf is kinda dumb... the dragon was not burst damage like the others so it was still different and not op at all wtf they legit waste time for stuff like this rather than just making better one we have to obtain.
After getting Regis & Dragonfire after soo long, they nerf them. I’ll think I’ll stay complacent with the items I have already and just ride the wave. That’s gaming though.
I think I'll just wait for Wonders of Gond to come back around to upgrade to the new one. As for Dragonfire, yeah, I have it, but don't use it because it's too limited in range for a Ranger, so it getting nerfed is a non-issue for my main character and my Wizard and Cleric alts. For my Barbarian, Fighter, Paladin, and Bard alts, that is a bit of an issue. I use the hawk on my main character for both aesthetics because Ranger and doing damage.
Fun fact: many people use dragonfire twice outside artifact call, because they like to desync it. Thus owlbear figurine was better, because it was brainproof. After changes, it's even more sure
