In this video, the lads take a closer look at latest update to the ever-popular Gretsch Jet guitars: the new Electromatic Jet BT!
With newly designed neck angle and modernised hotter 'BroadTron' pickups, the Jet BT sees this classic guitar take a big step forward in terms of becoming a legitimate option for the modern guitar player and posing some serious competition for other modern single cut guitars.
Whilst performance has been modernised, cosmetic styling has moved even closer to the high end and and vintage Gretsch guitars that players have lusted after for decades. Truly offering something for Gretsch fans young and old, and all at a impressively low price point - you need to check out a Jet BT today!

Hey guys, just wanted to give some props for the review. That part about the neck tilt / pickup height is brilliant information!

No one keeps the left-handed ones in stock, so I had to special order one. Should be here in a few weeks. Been watching all the RU-vid videos I can find about these awesome guitars. I can't wait to get it!! (It's going to be my first electric guitar -- I just started playing about 18 months ago, and I've only played acoustics 'till now.) Those Broad'Tron pickups really sound fantastic -- just enough "twang" without being brittle or harsh, and they can still get as dirty as you want. Great video, thanks!

Just bought one, cherry metallic, personally having owned 2 LP's and disappointed with their QC , this is a better playing guitar, lighter,the finish and craftsmanship is better than Gibson, I have 3 new Gretsch guitars, Gretsch G5220 Electromatic Jet BT ,Gretsch G5422TG Electromatic Hollow-body Double-Cut with Bigsby, a g5442bc bass, I plan on buying another bass, these guitars are imo, on par with my 67"s, can't say enough about them.

YES! Thank you for mentioning the angle of the Les Paul neck. I thought there was something off for me with it. Just got the Gretsch G5237 which is a custom G5222 double cut.

At 6:50 you are incorrect. All Gretsch Jets, Electromatic and otherwise, have always been heavily chambered and never a solid piece of wood for the body. This is not a new feature. The Electromatic Jets have been excellent guitars and an extremely good value for several years now.

Hmmm...I have an electromatic that I bought used about 10 years ago and its definitely a solid body guitar. It's just a chunk of mahogany. Heavy as heck.Don't remember the model number, its in storage right now but it's one of the cheaper models.
@teerexness
@teerexness 3 года назад
@@Arlo4511 I have two, both heavily chambered and not very heavy. They are so heavily chambered that I put a Variax system in one of them and only had to cut out a larger opening and cover to access the inside of the guitar. Plenty of room in there for the motherboard and the additional controls.

My son & i own the black one . Only thing I notice is I have to turn the volume up on the amp a bit more . Playability & price wise these are great . Good video .

Timothy Flyte yep, they are low output pickups.

Thanks for the info. Considering getting the 5220, although I played the model with the Bigsby vibrato which I understand is pretty much exactly the same as the 5220. I didn't play too loud but it sounded great and I was wondering why the volume might be lower? I've watched reviews that give high marks to the Broadtron pickups on this guitar. Are they not as strong as pickups on an Epiphone LP in the same class as this, and should one consider installing different pickups if they get this model?
@officialWWM
@officialWWM 4 года назад
0o0oo0o the pickups are just lower output. They are fine, you just have to turn your amp up a bit...

Do you know if you used a Plimsoul V1 (chrome with purple) or V2 (purple)? And is it a stock Blues junior 3? Great video! Thinking of buying this Gretsch now thanks to your video!

Matt: I recently bought the metallic jade grey and HAD to remove the pickguard; it was a static electricity generator. Guitar is fantastic in looks, tone and playability.

No, they are much lighter due to the chambered body.

The one I bought is a piece of junk. 1st day knob fell off 2nd day female jack had to be removed and tightened. 3rd day tune knobs were loose and could not tune. Had to tighten all of them not just a little I mean they were loose. 4 day gave up trying to play it as fret ends were never dress and were like barbwire. After that I gave up trying to play it or risk cutting myself. There is no way that guitar should have left the factory in that condition. Didn't bother to check the action and pickup height and intonation what was the point. Bought it January 2021. The neck had those skimpy thumbnail style fret markers nothing like the ones pictured here.

How balanced is this guitar when wearing a strap? I need a replacement to my SG that is so neck heavy it's difficult to play. I need to see about guitar balance before I buy.

thanks for the video guys I'm really thinking I'm going to be buying an electromatic the one with the dicks feed the I think it's the 55420 T yeah that's what I think I'm going to be buying it's funny how you said the old ones had to pick up Statler of the strings off the body rely I know what it's a line up with the neck it's funny cuz my Gibson Firebird is very similar to that two strings has Ohio of the body that they put the newer models with pick up rises and it says they had a completely different field but I'm used to it and I liked it anyway thanks for your video dude please excuse any typos misspelled words a lot of bad typer I'm not illiterate I'm just severely legally blonde using speech to text with dolphins screws up thank

The import Gretsch are stone junk. I had a Corvette II and it started to fall apart in my hands in front of about 500 plus people. I always wanted one and they really gave it to me.

ALL Gretsch guitars, (except one or two extremely expensive custom shop models made to order in the US), are imported-and they are far from junk; it's the originaI US-built models which have a habit of coming unglued. I would be interested to know exactly what you did to cause your Corvette to "fall apart". I have owned a G6122 Country Classic, G6122 Country Classic Doublecut Jr, G5120T, G5420TG 125th Anniversary (my current Gretsch), G5620T, G2420T and G2420. Not one fell apart, and all were regularly gigged. Imagine that!
