Dear Cesar, First I want to express how much I appreciate your honesty and ability to say what you genuinely feel and believe. Second I wish to thank you for your smile and your optimistic attitude. Third I want to say how grateful I am for you making the time and taking the effort to create your youtube channel. I find it very insightful and positively instructional with detailed and useful information about life and various topics concerning the guitar. I have lived 5 years in Central America and 22 years in South America working in conservation. My wife and I founded a Nature Refuge and Habitat Restoration Project that we ran until tourism became a casualty of the recent pandemic. We are both self taught musicians. I also compose songs. I play and create mostly jazz/latin/folk style arrangements for piano/guitar/bass/drums and horns. We lived without electricity and tech-no-logical toys so we are lacking knowledge in this respect. I tell you this because we sold or gave all of our instruments except my wife's Alto Sax before moving to the USA recently. A Yamaha piano and two inexpensive hand made Ecuadorian classical guitars were to big and cheap to bring with us. I am looking to replace my classical guitar. I am hoping to finally own a well built quality guitar that I can use in recording my compositions. This is how I serendipitously came across your youtube channel as I was researching the Alhambra 9p CW E8. I contacted XGuitars.com like you suggested and let Geoff know you highly recommend his services. I also found him to be very helpful. I explained to him my situation and he suggested the Alhambra 10p as an option. My concern with the 9p Cw E8 is the cutaway possibly diminishing the overall sound. I do like the idea of the cutaway allowing access to higher frets and the mic and pre amp possibly making recording easier. Do you have any comments? I know you have stated the top produces most of the sound, so my question is, " Should I be concerned about the cutaway?" Perhaps this would be a possible theme to some future video? Cesar...again I wish to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for your insightful and experiential knowledge about life and the guitar. Thank you for your efforts and your smile. Shine On Bright Spirit, Tony

Hey Tony! Thanks so much first for your kind words... Regarding the cutaway - In my experience, there is no loss of sound at all, and you can always get the 9P without a cutaway! In my case, I need the mic for recording as I do not like mic'ing guitars trough regular mics and amps...Let me know what your choice is and thanks again!

Love the warm sound of the Alhambra guitars you show on your channel. I am thinking about getting one, most likely th 5 P for now. Always loved classical music vs folk and rock, or blues. Something soothing about it. I played cello in orchestra, so not stranger to classical music. Have not played guitar before, so would the 5 P be a good investment for a beginner? Thanks and love the channel!!

Hey Dan! Thanks so much! Look - my 5P is with me since 1998 so is 23 years of continuous playing and traveling … and always delivering. Yes - is a good investment for sure. I won't hesitate!

Hi Cesar! I'm a big fan of your channel! I've been playing electric and steel string acoustic guitars for 40 years, semi-professionally and professionally for 30, although my skills feel more like I've been playing for just 5 years, 8 times in a row, lol. I'm getting a bit bored with my playing, so I've decided to explore nylon/classical guitars to venture into new musical directions. While I know a lot about electric and steel string acoustics, I'm still learning about what to look for in a nylon guitar. Your videos have been incredibly helpful, and I'm excited to have discovered Alhambra guitars! I'm looking for something unique and not mass-produced. I've come across a couple of 9P CW E8 models and I'm thinking of buying one without playing it first, trusting the workmanship. I'm still considering it. Thanks again for your refreshing and positive videos and advice! Sending blessings from Texas!

Beautiful guitar Cesar, congratulations and love the inlay too. My first classical is a Cordoba C5 solid cedar top and cleverly has a dual action truss rod (great value), but your Alhambra is so beautiful and traditional it's likely next on the list albeit quite a significant upgrade. I seen your video to check a classical guitar at the shop, but difficult to do this presently. Were you able to check yours before buying and correct me if I'm wrong that truss rods are a bit taboo for a traditionally handmade Spanish classical guitar? That said they can be very useful, but without maintaining humidity is even more important. Have you ever experienced twist in an Alhambra?
@CesarAllGuitar
@CesarAllGuitar 3 года назад
Hi! Thanks for watching! My Alhambra 5p is from 1994. Never a twist, solid as a rock... Regarding Truss Rods, yes - no traditional builder will do that unless you ask them to do it. Having said that, I consider truss rods a very useful tool. All my acoustic and Electric guitars have truss rods, of course. Cheers!

@@CesarAllGuitar Thanks for the quick response Cesar. It must be that Spanish cedar they have trust in and apparently it's also reinforced with ebony separate to the fretboard. That's the confidence I wanted to hear to buy an Alhambra and one day I'll be like Cesar... ;-)

I am considering a classical guitar with “cutaway” but really more for the access to higher frets than any desire to amplify ( all my mistakes!) but am worried about the quality of sound when they are “unplugged”- as to whether the cutaway detracts from the tonal quality compared to a non-cutaway classical guitar. Do you have any advice on this please? Many thanks!
@CesarAllGuitar
@CesarAllGuitar 3 года назад
Well...that would give for another video but in general I am part of the school of thinking that says that the sides and the back of the guitar are not too relevant regarding sound, tone and projection, but the top is the most important part...Thanks for watching!

Please. Il gonna Buy it. Is it thé best one for 2000€. Right here only positives comments. I saw negatives comments in another video like, this guitar sounds good only connected and it’s missing bass. Thx a lot for your answers.

Is it true that solid wood guitars are more susceptible to _temperature and humidity-change_ issues than "layered" wood guitars?

Hello Cesar, my best regards from Thessaloniki, Greece! Your review is excellent, congratulations on your new Alhambra! I own an Alhambra 4P (for almost 10 years) and was thinking seriously upgrading to a 9P like yours (without electronics and cutaway)......so your video was really what I needed to make up my mind and.... "pull the trigger". I always assumed that the step up from a 4P to a 9P would be big......now that I see your video I'm pretty sure about that! Take care.....Teo!
