Lauryn Kawasaki yes! I kept the hair intact straight out the box until I got to the crown of my head. Then I spit the hair twice. Once I got to my part I split the hair in 3s so the knots would be smaller and less detectable. I also recommend sliding the knot under the braid as well at the part.

Yes mostly 1 pack. I did use a few of the 8 inch curls in the front but mostly just one pack. You should be able to get away with 1 pack if you space it more in the back.
