👏 👏 👏 It’s taken a while to get to this point but, man oh man, his is a huge improvement to these sliders! Things just keep getting better with Darkroom.
Thank you for the update. I can see a significant change in shadow/highlight recovery, compared to the earlier implementation. This should be a solid foundation for the Darkroom app.
Nicely done guys. Not the sexiest thing to talk about but it is absolute core to making great images and is a major improvement to a nuts a bolts feature. I can see how bringing up shadows and down highlights is much less mechanical and evolves more naturally. I’m shooting more raw now with iPhone 14pro and this will give me even more flex in tougher situations. Big up.
Love to see Darkroom also go to Windows... is this going to happen one day.? Btw: Love the new stuff on my iPad and Macbook Pro. Keep doing this great work.
HEIF photo is always bigger in filesize than JPG photo as same image quality export option, anyone know why? I compared 80% jpg vs 80%heif, 95% jpg vs 95%heif, 100%jpg vs 100%heif. JPG exported file is always smaller than the heif one. It's very confusing to me. Photo files in 95%heif export option is 2-3 times of the heif photo filesize shot by iphone stock camera. Because heif should be a more space saver option as far as I know. It's also said in the description. heif is a modern, high quality, small file size image format. But why it's different in darkroom export? It looks to me, 95%jpg and 95%heif have very similar image quality. I'm going edit ton of my iphone proraw photos, so I want to figure out the best export options. Thank you.
I keep wondering why my 6.2 darkroom lacks the “Exposure” slider. Rather disappointing.Below the Mask option I have only the “Brightness” slider. Please advise. Thanks.
@@darkroomapp I’m red-faced. I should have figured this out for myself but as I advance in age I get a little dumber, it seems. LOL. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. One more dumb question - do I have to pay separately for Darkroom on my Mac M1? Thanks again.
