Ouch! I had the same thing happen years ago with a JD 336 baler, the spring on the safety stop had broken and I didn't notice it until too late. Because I'm a cheap SOB I ended up buying for parts an old JD 24T baler that uses the same knotters at an auction, paid half as much for the entire baler as JD wanted for 2 needles.
I had the same problem on my mccormick international B46 when i broke bouth nidles.. so I had to do the timming and buy two new nidles.. hay thats is on the plunger broke nidles and not the plunger it self... have a nice repair
Well hopefully it was that loose chain that caused her to jump time please keep us in the loop on the repairs We have a 570 as well that has been flawless so far. Lots of maintenance goes into making small squares for sure. Please take us along on the repair as we enjoy your videos from Madison county NY
Spoiler alert- the chain was not the problem! lol The needles were disengaging during a tie cycle, so I have a few other parts to replace. I will keep you posted. Thanks for watching!!
@@mzr800 This video was filmed about 10 days ago. Since then, we have done almost 1k bales of second cut, and still have third cut to go. I ordered parts yesterday, and hopefully will get things fixed before we have to bale again. The joys of farming! lol
Must be somewhat of a relief that you can troubleshoot diagnose and fix a complex complicated machine such as a square baler. There is not that many people around anymore that are good at timing these balers. Lost art I believe.
I fixed my buddy's bailer that John Deere had just serviced and left it out of time. It broke one needle and bent the other one. It also twisted the bar the needles attach to. I had to also do an alignment on the knoters. It was a lot more then just changing the needles. It has been working for him for 5 years now.
