A trip to the Doe Show, where we see some new machines and the new cab on the T7 HD New Holland series. Also some of the older machines working in the field.
315 sure looks nice with some nice upgrades especially the stop button but to me ( I haven't been in one ) I don't like the front windscreen wiper as I feel it should at least do 180° of the screen but when you consider the old tractors only cleared a small area when they were fitted to the top of the windscreen, it is an improvement. Last time I went was mid nineties, would love to go again.
Nice to see the new tractor's on show and working, along with the old ones. Liked the T7 with the new cab layout, looks a nice thing. Good video Stephen.
Surely the lesson there is that farms used to get done with the small old tractors working land at a sensible depth and hardly needing lights. Now you need more and more hp and a larger better appointed cab so you can work even longer hours. Where's it all going to stop! Is that progress, serious question.
The problem is that now no one wants to be a farmer it’s too much hard work. So we have to have bigger machines as there is not the workforce there used to be.
@@farmerstephen But where will this stop? In 5 years will you be at the Doe show looking at 500hp, is the 1000hp Quadtrac just around the corner, will that be big enough. People commenting on this thread seem almost excited about how much fuel a 310hp tractor will use. There are plenty out there now pulling 12mt drills at 8-10k with 240hp now, change the system and it can be done. We’re heading for massive Ag inflation of input and machinery prices, BPS is disappearing and the replacement payments (ELS etc) hardly cover the costs of setting them up. Wander around the Doe Show or LAMMA and ask how this industry can support that number of machinery manufactures and suppliers. When you are out there at 10.30 at night that’s who you are supporting, not yourself. I see the buffers at the end of the track and people still accelerating towards them. I don’t want to rant or preach, I’m genuinely interested in this. Best wishes.
