I have a 2001 New Holland TL90 that has a lower hitch arm seal leaking hydraulic oil. I am replacing the seal and bushing, then showing how to install the lower unit back in to the tractor.
I used two cameras to video this project:
Canon Vixia HF G21 with RodeLink Lapel Microphone
GoPro Hero 5 Black with a Rode Micro Microphone

As usual with any job I do.....I had to not only remove the housing but then heat it extensively with a pear burner. Even then the sleeves didn't come out easy. I attempted the method of turning the bushing sideways. The rotating piece of the bushing broke and fell out the bottom. I could make 100s of videos for "worst case scenarios" and "wow, we have never seen that happen before". Its the norm for me.

Just to add: (With lower unit off tractor) Instead of rotating the bushing with screwdriver, use a 15/16 socket against bushing from the inside. Smack the rod against the socket with brass hammer. Excellent video.

Tried to drive the seals out like you described. Broke the shaft guide in half. Had to take the unit off and had a hard time getting the seal out. A terrible design.

I just did this on a 1997 NH 4230 with 2050 hrs. The general components are the same as the video. I replaced only the seals because the bushings seemed in good enough shape plus only 2050 hours and never plowed, only mowers and sprayers. I think some of the problem on my tractor may have been water in the lower torsion shaft housing. The housing was full of water because it is lower than the hydraulic drain plug. Plus, the original seals are junk, make sure to get the newer style seal down in this video. If i was to keep this tractor for a longer period i would drill and tap the shaft housing for a small drain plug to get any accumulated water out. This was a great video, thanks for posting.

Hello thanks for this video I have leak for few years and already changed seal bushing and shaft but the leak is between iron part of the seal and mean part number 5116242. So now I have to change the mean part number 5116242 and would like to know how to take it of because I've tried but never did, when I unscrew the mean bolt under the mean part doesn't move so do I have to move it strongly or do anything else regarding the lever ? Regards

The seal is leaking because the bushing is worn.

tell me, my friend, if I want to replace the lower arm seals, do I have to drain all the oil? Is it enough to just remove the entire shaft without draining the oil? I have a New Holland TL90 tractor from 2003.

If oil is leaking out around the shaft, then that means the spherical bearing is worn Remember all the pull of the tractor is through those two bearings. The shaft also rotates through use. Replace both spherical bearings and both seals together. I am not a fan of lower link sensing because of oil leaking and the work needed to fix it.
