You’ve collected beautiful pieces. I love mixing new and vintage. That last vintage brush is for a man’s shaving cream. The open container would hold the cream and the missing piece would be the razor. I think.
I am so laughing…… I don’t consider myself vintage, just yet, 😂 but I am old enough to think I know what that vintage marble item is. Men put shaving cream in the bowl, the brush is to brush on the shaving cream to the face and, I believe, the missing piece is the razor. Just discovered your videos and am loving them.

I remember them having a little round cake /bar of soap in the dish part. I am 72 and remember both my Father and Grandfather having one. It seems like they were cream color. I always enjoy your style.

You have so many beautiful finds. The harlequin pattern tissue box is my favorite. Thank you for showing us the canvas paper as that will be fun to try. So with the shave set, my dad had something similar, there would have been a shave soap in the container and you would wet the brush with water to make a lather with the soap. The man would apply it to his face and it would act like shaving cream. My guess is that there was a razor that matched the set that would have hung on the empty side. So happy I am still alive to pass this knowledge to the younger generations.😂 Jk….I’m not that old.😅

I’m 36 so I guess I’m considered “vintage” 🤪 lol my husband owned a barber shop and the shaving cream is mixed in the marble bowl and applied using the brush. Great haul btw!

The vintage set is for a barber to shave mens faces. They but shaving cream in the bowl, use the brush to lather up the face and your missing piece is the razor!
It’s where you put the raiser. The cup is for the shaving cream. The brush is to put it on the man’s face. It’s really pretty. My dad used a steel raiser that opened up when you twisted the bottom of the handle and you just replaced the raiser blades.
😂 I only know what the shaving set is because my husband shaves his head. I bought him an entire set and soaps off of Etsy. Love the gather basket. I want one!

Hi, I'm a hairdresser and You are so cute with not knowing the.barber set. Is for shaving.There are barbers who still use these the missing piece is the razor and it usually is what they call a straight edge.I don't consider myself old but I will be 65 next month.😂
Lol, I am not vintage but I know what that is. It is for men for when they shave their face. The missing bit will be where he hangs his razor..... And the shaving cream goes into the bowl. However you couls easily repurpose that for yourself - take the brush off and use it for something else?
Your Etsy print is lovely. And I totally agree that it’s much better to have art that is unique to you. I hope this doesn’t come across as insensitive, but as person of color, I’d rather have art that is reflective of my culture & people rather than of random white people I don’t know.
Thank you! Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions and feelings about certain things. I love the vintage art trend but it’s definitely a lot more meaningful to me when it represents my culture! It was actually very difficult to find something that was close to being Mexican/Latino!

Good tip on the printable canvas, but remove the glass! Better- find vintage bubbly window glass- the worst wavy kind- and cut that to size. Otherwise, if you cannot find wavy/wonky glass, I'd suggest no glass at all.
I loved everything you bought , especially that print from Micheal’s. The little bowl is for shaving cream and the brush to apply on face, what’s miss is the shaver. What a fun piece. ❤
Hi Brenda. Gorgeous pieces today. Your home is so peaceful. All the ladies are right about the shaving mug. You could actually buy a bar of round shaving soap to fit in the bowl, wet your brush and swirl it around on the soap and have shaving cream. You can still buy the soap today, usually in the men's shaving section
