Thank you for a great overview of the 16.3 features! You make them easy to follow/activate. The Ambient Sounds feature is one of my favorites! I am excited to experience all these for HomePod 2 as well.
There should be a channel promoting the new bugs in these updates. I tried to play music on my mini this morning while in the shower, and it would play for about 5 seconds and then nothing.
Great videos found you through the ATP guys. One thing I haven’t seen covered in the new HomePods is how well does the Smoke/CO2 alarm detection work? We are an all Sonos house at the moment but would add HomePod minis if we could smarten up the alarms.
Thanks! I haven't tested that personally, but you can test with your iPhone by enabling Sound Recognition. If that works in your house I imagine the HomePod would perform similarly.
It’s a great update, but the sensor doesn’t work very well. I tried moving it from one room to my back porch which is 45°. According to the home app as I was monitoring it the temperature fell 10° from 70 to 60° in 2 hours. That's too slowwwwww. As a quick test, I created an automation so when the temp gets to 60° to turn on my Hallway light. As it turns out that the automations for the temperature sensor don’t work at all. Maybe the software dev team should had beta tested this feature before release. Hopefully Apple will fix this before the HomePod 2nd Gen comes out next Friday. All in all the temp in the pod mini is 1 or 2° of my house hold thermostat when placed close to each other. Since I rent, I was hoping that I could use a Pod Mini temperature for a base automation this summer. When I can tell my Eve smart outlet to turn on my window air conditioner unit.
@@beardfm I think it has been more then 24hrs. Let’s see. Can it be a issue if there is already a HomeKit (Philips hue) temperature sensor in the room?
Do you have to be at home to see the temp and humidity readings? If ask Siri for the readings when I’m not at home it says it can’t as I haven’t got any sensors
@@tylermelton2467 tried rebooting my mini. Still nothing. Will leave it a few hours or days. I have read people have had to reset and re-add their mini to make it work.
You should be able to access the Home app, go to the specific room, then see the temperature at the top. I'm not sure if you can ask Siri for the temperature when you're out of the house.
