Can you do a current update on new construction and perhaps the best rated home builders in Austin area.

the customization of homes that builders use to offer also declined here in Deep South Texas. it was basically designer choices which were stunning but also drove the prices up. prices that we were not use to seeing in our part of texas. its crazy how the housing market differs from the 90s and up to the 2000s before the housing crash.

Thank you for that insight on what's happening in the Deep South - I imagine everywhere that's been growing has seen similar patterns. We are starting to se some design options be allowed again in the higher price points. But the market has started to pick up here already, so those may be going away again!

Under contract for new construction. Do you think they can drop the price by 10-20k If I ask?

Probably not if you've already signed the contract! New construction communities are seeing more activity now, so they're not as likely to negotiate unless the house is completed and doesn't have a buyer yet.
