Thanks a TON MOTOROCTANE for such a video with this concept. Several people were confused between these two. I was searching for this much awaited comparison on RU-vid but then u uploaded this video. Thanks Watched the video just after 45 secs of launch.
Gentle Reminder regarding Missed points 1. Suspension Setup 2. Driving Dynamics 3. Body Roll comparison 4. Handling and cornering 5. High speed Stability 6. Aero Dynamics ☝️Key differences between a Sedan and an SUV This video focussed only on sitting posture, and boot space.
@@yashasgarg9802 so what, any new viewer who hasn't watched any of the reviewers you said about, will never come to know about these quintessential points. Sitting posture is just the one of the differences and any layman would have an idea that SUVs sits higher than sedans.
Luxury wo bhi honda city🤣🤣🤣🤣 abe andha hai kya dhyan se dekho kaun jyada luxury hai aur kisme jyada kuxury feature hai. Creta is more luxurious than city.
I sold my Verna fluidic last year and bought a Honda City 2019. I don't think I'll be able to sit comfortably in any other SUV or sedan now. City offers best in class seating comfort and leg space. It gives me feel of a sofa lounge. even on long trips i never feel tired. Whereas in my cousin's Creta's back seat i feel like i am sitting on a chair which is very uncomfortable
Panchal Buragohain it was a fluidic verna diesel 2013. It was 6 years old and the engine had started making little noise. While standing outside, i could hear good amount of engine noise, which was embarrassing at times. I feared that noise will increase with passage of time, hence its time to sell it off. Infact i did went for new verna test drive last year, but didn’t like it’s interiors, which were dull in colour, compared to my fluidic verna, and also back seat comfort and head room was very less. And once i sat in city’s back seat, no other car could impress me. I even checked creta, yaris, ciaz, harrier and corolla. But city’s comfort was the best
Panchal Buragohain infact last week i went again to test drive new creta, seltos, facelift verna, and also the new 2020 city. But all of them failed in back seat comfort. One thing that none of the reviewers have informed, is that the 2020 city’s back seat comfort is not as good as the 4th gen 2019 city. 2019 city’s back seats are more reclined, and feel like a perfect sofa lounge, whereas the new 2020 city’s back seats are less reclined and feels like a suv or hatchback seats.
Suv seats wants one to sit only for a short duration , especially the rear ones, they make the passenger so uncomfortable on a long drive ,wanting to cut it short. In the sedan, it's the opposite. I feel it's due to the angle of the" C" pillar. My observations.
After driving my city 2017 for 1.3 lac kilometres and sometimes driving for 14-16 hours straight...i can say city is more comfortable than creta ( my wife has creta)....and we both agree that on long drives city is better...only downside is GC...but when i am driving long trip with full family and their baggage.. City makes more sense due to sheer space it has....moreover the high speed stability and agility of the city is excellent...though not as good as vento or rapid.
@@slynomics we had one in 2009...though car was very good in driving dynamics...but i remember it was not comfortable...ac was real pain(delhi weather)...and in peak summers even front row passengers were sweating...we took to service centres( Giriraj) only to be told that " sir ac has a problem in skoda cars"....i dont know how they are now...even recently i was with my friend in his polo (2018 model)...and there was same ac thing which kept me annoying.....i have not seen such thing even in my zen i used to drive in my college days...otherwise i completely agree skoda and vw make better drivers cars
Perfect explanation. I own a 4th generation 2019 Honda city. I was more concerned about sitting convenience to both front and back seat passengers. City does that. I guess everyone knows about the Honda city (petrol varient) smoothness in driving...
Harish S i agree. After watching this video, i went to test drive new creta and seltos. Tried both of them 3-4 times, and found that suv’s high sitting position might impress at first, but it can never give comfort of honda city seats, specially back seats. And the city’s petrol cvt driving experience is the best. Infact i was planning to sell my 2019 City and buy new creta, but finally cancelled it
Sedan is much more comfortable than crossovers anyday , not everyone goes to hills(himachal pradesh) every month or two. Many drives their vehicle on cities n highways on regular basis
@@foodyfoody9574 bro creta, seltos, brezza they are just pseudo suv's, most of the people who buying them never ever take them to the off-roads , people are just buying these crossovers blindly like they always drive it on countryside, but the reality is 90% of these suvs runs on National highways or in cities. So if one is driving 90% of its vehicle on Highway amd in cities then what is the purpose of buying this crossovers , just buy a sedan which has ample of space in boot as well as in the cabin, better handling n comfort in lesser price.
Nitin sedan is for oldies. I have HC and I regret it for Suvs. Poor sheet build, rust problem in door panels. Whereas Suvs are sturdy with more GC, sturdy build quality, better resale.
Rahul reservation😷. Sales figure speaks volume about demand from customers. Sedan time is up. Buy and regret it. If I hv to put my money today I will buy Seltos / Compass again. Sedan needs more parking space, less GC, lighter body prone to rust and dents.
Rahul I dont agree. The rust on city comes from within due to poor metal characterisitcs(withoit any scratch or dents whatsoever) No metal protection can save it. The sheet starts corroding itself from any side. Companys pathetic customer support does not even helps. The only solution is replacement of the either the entire door or panel whichever starts rusting including hinges.
Great job bro....I got 2 points 1. Sedan is meant for comfort and when you drive in city or on road. 2. SUV is meant for off road driving rather than comfort.
You made the right choice buddy...I am also planning to buy city V version rather than going for Nexon,creta....looking at the list of features they are offering over creta
Much awaited comparison, since city has no competition at all with other c segment sedans. City now competes with seltos and creta especially for people in dilemma of suv vs sedan. My choice - always a sedan.
Good , This is what i was waiting for confirmation to decidie between two, and personally i like Sedan city driving posture to feel like a sport car and i guess you are also going to go for Sedantry sporty feel of sedan .. !! Your dedication to make videos with exicmtment is appreciated , keep it up , i have had starte watching from last few days and you are the frist one for car review and after watching others like FK and all , you are also top from last for honest reivew .. so you are segment first Reviewer , Kudos Rachit
This is the comparison I was looking for... Every sedan v/s SUV comparison ends up with go for wat suits your needs. But u gave a clarity as to wat are those needs we should consider. U made me realise my requirements. Thanks a lot.
I personally like SUV but when i compare with base variant of both the cars , city offers additional features like HILL ASSIST, CRUISE CONTROL, BRAKE ASSIST & vehicle stability control, which creta EX does not offer. Are these features important enough. Should I opt for Honda for these additional features?
I’m 6’4’’ but I still much prefer Sedan for driving or riding. Cornering and seating posture over the bad road comfort. And if I have to guess, you would prefer sedans too ✌️
I got clear winner just my opinion it’s the city more safer more power full more premium actually Honda doing their best at the price on the other side creta is overpriced Hard plastic every where it’s the panoramic sunroof is only USP of this product. City is more fun to drive then creta any day thanks to IV tech Engine any day.
Comment of the comments section bro 💯. Yes, sedans also are more aerodyamic and they have very nice high speed stability, handling and even comfort. Chipak ke chalti hai yaar. So, I would buy a sedan only.
Thanks MOTOROCTANE love the video. Honda as a brand has always been reliable irrespective of the type of vehicle (sedan ,suv hatchback). Been a Honda user for 10 years now. Practical Brand.
Hi sir I saw your latest video about creta vs city, it's very interesting and useful for taking a good decision. I am a doctor and I will go for City this car I need for my family. It's give official look for family. I am not criticize creta it's a great SUV. I think you can also choose city. Dr Sirish from Bangalore.
Iam also confused between creta and city but recently I saw a thread about brake failure in earlier version of creta in team bhp forum and now I am planning to consider only Honda city
which one is better choice ,honda city base model or verna sx model ,prices are almost same ,plzzzzzz i am so much confused between these two...plzzz rply me
You forgot to mention sedans are more stable at high speed(bigger wheel and high ground clearance can cause stability issues) and more frugal on mileage
Mostly favouring hyundai..always..why are you not talking about the body roll in suvs. See at 9:40 - honda city , at 10:30 - creta . Same tarmac, but creta is wobbling. Was it something else or is it the body roll?
@motoroctane you missed one point! At high speeds.. SEDANs are much more stable than SUVs.. most SUVs at high speeds have a little more jump than SEDANs
Thnx apne itna badiya smjhaya bute ek chote village se belong krta hu jo ki rajasthan me h aur yaha koi road ka thikana h hi nhi to yaha sedan to nhi chalne wali fir aap mujhe konsi gadi prefer karenge jabki mujhe bolero jyada helpful lagti hai . Kya bolero ka decision sahi h .ya fir apke according kya better hai ... Plz rply Krna Aur ha me apka bada fan hu .apke har videos dekhta hu .ok by m thnx apke rply ka intezar rahega bhai saheb
as per ergonomics, best seating for back is straight for long time seating, like in suv, and all car must have recline features in rear seat to adjust as per requirement like in innova , Govt. should pass rule for recline feature compulsory in back seat like in front seat for all cars type and it must start from base model, it would much better for those who having back problem thanks nice vdo sir
Rajesh J. Dayalani yaar i have a city and compass. Suvs are way better on roads and highways. City has problems of rusting in doors and hinges. Suvs are solidly built.
Abhirav Sathe city being sedan needs more space to park and sheet metal too thin, you cant patk in tight parking spots. Ruat is another major issue. This rust in doors cant be repaired, so you need to change entire door
Sedans are always better compared to SUVs, be it comfort or ride & handling or body roll. SUVs are in demand today only because the Government has failed to deliver good roads to its people. Rachit I feel a sedan will suit you more than a SUV.
Was looking forward for such video. Thanks! 😊 Also, it could have been really better if you have talked in terms of suspension and head-room in both the segments.
One more important point to highlight is that the so called 'SUV' isn't an SUV. It's just an enlarged version of a hatchback, with a more powerful engine and a slightly elevated suspension. It is not a 4WD. It cannot do proper offroads. It's only meant for moderate potholes on the roads and gravel.
Sir superb analysis for suv and sedan.... Really excellent video... Very unique video....it's very useful to choose a segment... In such scenario mostly buyers going to In suv segment... But they forgot actually what they need. I have Honda city VX CVT - July 2019...It's very comfortable for me...Same think as per video... I choose sedan as per my body structure and comfortable for me and my family... I totally against what trends going in car segment...Again excellent video for all...Love you sir... Your all video really excellent...
Another considerable difference is, most passengers with motion sickness usually suffer more often in a sedan compared to a SUV (possible due to better road visibility in the SUV)
@@a.j4709, from personal experience I can say that its a little less in a SUV, when you can see the road fully. And a bonus is when you can have the sunroof (along with the windows) open.
@@a.j4709 suvs like creta doesn't have much body roll we have both 1st gen creta and 4th gen city... We like creta much more than city due to its road presence and high sitting posture...❤️❤️
My question to you is which vehicle should I buy? Creta or Honda city.??? I love to drive on my own. I need a power, pickup, good road comfort & stability on highways, but actually I have to ride it locally i.e 30 to 40 km maximum in a day. So looking for family car too with so much requirements, mileage too. Highway driving is once or twice in a month. Help me in picking up between the best two. Creta automatic 1.5 petrol or Honda city petrol automatic 1.5 litre.? 🙂
Was thinking about asking you for this video. Great that its out as its a big question for many. As per my research, people want everything, good seating stance and comfy ride, dominant as well as luxurious looks, performance and off-roading. So, lots of confusion! Also, price is a big factor and somehow I feel the craze for Mid Size SUV's have increased its price for the segment. I would go for seltos and not Creta if i select a mid size suv to buy due to various reasons. But, the new honda city is fab and its price is wow! I was also considering verna till sometime back but now its gone out of the window after the new city launch. The price, the performance, the engine n gear cluster , luxurious interiors, all is magnificent. But again, the seating stance, the road presence, the ground clearance(the fear of going off roading with a sedan or simply climbing a ramp!), panoramic sunroof, and few more stuff is still making me confused. Also, the sales data is highly towards mid size SUV. Why is it such??? Damnnnn!!!
Ever heard of the word "Bhedh chal" thats the reason mid size SUV's are selling. From my personal experience of having owned two sedans in past 10 years (verna 2010 and ciaz 2017), Sedans offer much more comfort even driving 5hrs straight is not a problem. But then again it depends on what kind of roads you would face. Most of the highways are in top condition now a days, only if you think you would be travelling to very remote areas, that is where you might miss an actual 4 wheel drive SUV. .These mid size front wheel driven suvs and neither as rugged as a proper 4 wheel drive nor as comfortable as a sedan its just a bad compromise. I have seen roads with lots of pot holes and I wished I had a bit more ground clearance and had to drive really slow to tackle them, but its better than having two wheels up in the air after dodging a street dog at high speed. Yes SUVs tend to do that because of their high CG(check moose test). I have also observed that people having motion sickness more comfortable in sedans than in SUVs because of the negligible body roll of sedans. So other than bad speed breakers and potholes there is not much that stands against a sedan.
Driver seating on Honda City for long drives is pleasurable and very comfortable. The only downside as we all know is the Ground Clearance. City I feel is a more usable car especially if you are staying in a metro where roads are generally more predictable. If I had the choice of owning two cars then one will be Sedan (I have City) and other will be subcompact SUV (Venue or Sonet - still deciding).
I drive the New Honda City 2020 VX MT Petrol Radiant Red. Penning down some of my observations in hope that it can help other potential buyers: 1. Pros: a. First Things First - Ground Clearance is NOT a Problem AT ALL unless one intends to go OFF the road on a trail with Large rocks and highly uneven terrain. I have driven on bad roads/ sometimes barely a road/ Large Potholes and the car hasn't touched the ground Yet. NOTE: I have driven with Max 4 People with limited Luggage in Boot. Maybe with a full trunk and max seating capacity, there could be an issue, but I think the whole GC issue is being blown Out of proportion in the New Honda City. Its totally Fine b. Driving Pleasure - Highly refined Engine, Light Clutch, Fast Gear Shifts, Highly responsive Steering. The Engine has a wonderful revving sound(Which I have read some people say is a demerit as it creates cabin noise), which keeps the driver excited. Not many gear shifts needed. Car drives beyond 80KMPH in 3rd Gear easily c. Cabin Quality - Cabin is functional and is definitely more luxurious compared to cars in the same price range. Its spacious too. d. Cost - The Models for Creta and Seltos with VSM, Hill Assist comes at 16Lakhs+. City has the same safety features from the Base Model itself. Nexon with similar Safety features is priced ~12.5 Lakhs(On Road, depending on city might vary a bit). City's price lands in the middle of current sub compact SUVs and Compact SUVs. It’s a steal if you ask me. e. Safety - ASEAN NCAAP 5 Star Rated, 6 Air Bags. 2. Cons a. No Front Parking Sensors - Being a Long Car, I feel the Front Parking sensors should have come out of the Box but I had to shell out additional 10K from the dealership to get it fitted b. Infotainment System - Gets the job done but in bright sunlight, the screen isn't clear. The Koreans have a much more intuitive and Clear screens c. Mileage - I have been getting 10-12Km/L Mileage till now having driven it on the Highway, City and Western Ghats. Being a City, I expected higher.
@@cityhunter1460 My budget is 17-18lacs onroad and I can just get the XE Variant of Harrier that has nothing in it. I wanted a petrol automatic car as well which harrier doesn't have. Diesel auto will cost around 20 ( XM) which again lacks Features. I can get SXo IVT at much cheaper price with safety features like ESC, VSM, hill Hold assist 6 airbags etc. Even harrier doesn't provide 6 airbags at that rate. So safety is very good. Prev Gen Creta has 4 star as well.
Hi, a very much needed comparison as I am facing some sort of similar difficulty. Most of my doubts have been cleared by your video, however it would be great if you could tell me the actual difference in the average that these cars give I mean to say whether an SUV of this segment or Sedan would give a better average for daily commute, and one more question, which one amongst the two is low maintenance ? Thanks once again
Hello motoroctane this video is very nice 👌 and this type concept is such well and its huge ❤ But one thing in this video such voice up and down what did you say we can't listen properly in such moments so plz try to update voice cleartiy.❤
Hi Rachit, great content as usual. I have been following HC 5th for since Thai launch. I have a couple of questions and are very genuine. You may answer with a video if you still have HC test version with you or just comment. 1. The build/ joints isn't/aren't consistent on behind front mud flap, 2. Intersection of A pillar and fender, the steel is almost without any support. 3. 980 mpa grade steel really? You can witness a triangular protrusion in rear wheel area displaying poor steel quality, push it with no pressure and can sense it bends. Similarly, sunroof area where steel is exposed. Would you like to highlight crumple zones in this car if you have insights on them. Would India production version would still be a 5 starrer if tested on GNCAP model. PS: These are my observations and are not to hurt anyone's sentiments. I would want HC to be perfect.
Hi please advise which one to buy Nissan kicks 1.3 turbo cvt or Creta/ Seltos 1.5 IVT. Buying Nissan kicks is a risk as they don't have enough service centers, limited spare parts availability as well, possibly kicks discontinue after some time usually Nissan do looking for your valuable advise. Regards
Amazing Review. You could have added On Road Prices and Service Maintenance on both cars. I think Hyundai is Expensive to Maintain Compared to New Honda City.
Buddy, it's Posture and not Poisture so the pronunciation has to be as per that. Your review is good. I wish you would have spoken about 1. Aerodynamics better in Sedan 2. Fuel consumption better in sedan 3. Ride quality and body roll is better in sedan. Would have been more technical. Please take it as a constructive criticism.
Rachit I am sure you will pick Honda city because sedan has the best seating comfort and aerodynamics + suspension arrangement is better in a sedan than compact SUV. Though Honda is little overpriced as compared to rivals
Hi,Rachit. Good noon. Good comparo bro. But I am still not sure. I am travel addict. Want to go far and near places with friends and family by driving myself. Sometimes travel may involve 700-800 km at a strech. I went to jammu and vaishnodevi from my town which is 2000km away in my Hyundai xcent petrol sx(o). Now I want to buy Hyundai verna s x petrol or tata nexon petrol xz+(s). Which should I prefer? Sometimes I travel to forts and forests. I also want my rear seaters to be at comfort and ease. Can you guide me which to prefer?
Rachit bhai... Explained like a BOSS. Impeccable 😀😀😀 One more point.. Generally the cabin cooling is better in sedans due to 3 box design. Also, high speed stability is generally better in sedans due to low center of gravity. I think you'll pick sedan over SUV as you are a very practical person. 😃
Great comparison like pongal and vadacurry. You are the first in the world to give a marvelous wonderful comparison like this. Creta vs honda city. Great. No words to explain.
Rachit i am going to purchase a suv but i am confuse between ford EcoSport s deisel vs creta Ex deisel.i am in hill area of uttrakhand .please suggest me which is better.
