I always thought it was four white feet send them far away. But he is very handsome 😍, looking forward to following your journey with him

Different poem and wrong line. 4 white feet keep him not a day; 3 white feet send him far away; 2 white feet give him to a friend; 1 white foot, keep him 'till the end.

4 white socks are my absolute favorite!!!!!! And with a nice blaze to match!😍 I've had many like this and they were all wonderful horses💫 I currently have 2, 1 gelding with 4 white socks & 1 stallion with 4 white coronets and they are very healthy gentlemen. They aren't thoroughbreds though, I know TBs are a whole different breed in their own lol, I worked in the race horse industry for many years. Now I have noticed throughout my life of horses, the eyes can tell you a bit. Like some blue eyes will make them more flighty or spooky, also brown with white showing in the corner like your new gelding lol I think your new horse is gorgeous! Im so glad you're giving him a shot and I'm so excited to watch your adventures with him!!

Truffle looks quite promising. You're one of the only horse owners I watch on youtube because you're not literally abusive.

Nice to see/hear from You again and congrats to that really beautiful and smart horse ! Once you both are fully connected, success will be on your side. Arabians and thoroughbreds pick up quickly, but they ask for true confidence in the rider. Once that is established they do everything for you! (This year all the endurance rides we went was a success and I’m very grateful for my little Arabian horse being brave and strong over the miles we were traveling).

Truffle looks stunning and if anyone can help him to transition in the next part of his life from racer to hunter it'll be you. It was great to see and hear you enjoying riding him and he seemed to enjoy himself too. Look forward to seeing the next part of his journey ❤

I just love the thoroughbred, with the right rider they can do anything - I was blessed to work with them for years… patience, positive and calm and they will give you everything, I would love to know his pedigree? Can I just say that you have the best hands I’ve ever seen on a rider, I wish you all the best with Truffle, I think you’ll do brilliantly and I can’t wait to watch your updates! 😊

Irish thoroghbreds have a very difficult character. Over the last 50 years we have had a few thoroughbreds, but only one stallion from Ireland - and never again! With my anglo-arabian mare he made good foals. But riding was an adventure to us. We never knew what occur to him next. So I wish you the best. 😉

I will be interested to watch your progress with him. Poor lad is no oil painting, especially with that unfortunate eye, but we wont hold that against him! He looks calm initially, and he has a really nice deep girth, and his legs look clean. I had a 15hh tb built similarly once, his depth of girth was longer than his neck! He did not hunt well. It was the only thing he ever tried he could not handle mentally. It was a shame. He had never raced, mustered and evented for a few years first, but after 4 hunts I realised we could possibly die if we hunted again! He was OK as a huntsman's horse, but could not follow another horse into a fence with any form of safety. I hope you have better luck with this chap. Big shoulder, at this point it is making his neck look weedy. Lets hope his neck builds up on top more and it settles into the shoulder more naturally. My one concern with his short back is saddle fitting correctly. Remembering, the cantle of the saddle should not be behind the ring of light, that gives you little room to manoeuvre. I have been through the same with a short backed horse, who only had 14" to work with. Impossible for an English saddle. I ended up having to use a saddle with a panel similar to a western one. It was a nightmare of trying saddles, reading about fitting them to awkward horses, much fitting advice, internet searches and the stress of them not fitting. Schleese saddlery have good you tube advice on saddle fitting short backed horses, for long term soundness. I can only hope, you do not go through what I did and something you already have, fits him just fine. He has a good wee pop in him at this stage, lots and lots of cross bars to discourage him jumping over his knees (forearms hanging down). Those grunts he was making are funny, but make sure he learns to breathe correctly and not hold his breath the way he was to cause those grunts. It can be linked to ulcers, or so I have read. Some quiet poles and then gridwork, perhaps with circles before and after and just trotting in and popping over. He looks like he could get quite hot and its best the 2 of you devise a way of calming down that works well, before he ever gets near a hunt field!! Would parts of the TRT method help you with this, I wonder...? That head should come down with lots of light, steady contact and work. He will grow into himself and you won't recognise him in 12 months from now. Any horse ridden well looks good. They learn to hold themselves correctly and develop the correct muscles and even the plainest horse will go on to elicit lots of very positive comments once built up. What fun to see how you get along with him. A great learning curve for everyone. Sorry for the novel

Pretty horse! I think he will be very promising! Not to familiar with the breed but I agree horses with shorter backs and necks are quite better at turning, calvary horses where bred that way for a reason after all. tho I have to admit I am a bit envious of your summer being quite rainy as I am from Canada and the wildfires have made doing much of anything quite hazardous.

Great to see you again, Monty! Truffle is obviously an intelligent horse and he's beautiful. He's going to enjoy his training as much as you will. The riding school where I took lessons had a big, gorgeous Irish TB school horse. He'd been a champion showjumper. He had a brilliant mind, and would do everything *perfectly* - as long as he was correctly asked. He was the ideal schoolmaster, and his gaits were so smooth. Best of luck with your business! MSM is excellent stuff!
