Whenever I see Perturabo, I always remember how he almost murdered everyone on his flagship that one time. Probably not someone you want anywhere near your Astartes.
@@christopherclayton5500 Other way around, he had 1 in 10 of his men killed to prove a point. It was actually a practise in the ancient Roman legions aswell.
Does anyone else think that the intro was really sloppy? Glaring spelling errors and what is shown/said not being aligned at all. Also, I did not know that it was possible to take basic Tactical Squads as Elites.
A few little mistakes creeping in there, Argel Tal can’t join ashen circle because he doesn’t have the bitter duty rule, he also really *should* have been with the Gal Vorbak because they gain an invun while he is with them. Word bearers win ties in combat (legion trait) as well. Still I really enjoyed the bat rep, good to see what word bearers can do (although you might want to concentrate a bit more fire on your sacrifice unit next time).
You can always choose not to allocate a wound to your character if there's another legal recipient, right? So Argel Tal didn't need to be taking all those hits because he was already wounded.
so quick note on the firing protocols on pertarabo, i think this is for battlesmith, allowing him to use a protocol use to battlesmith and still shoot, or battlesmith twice and not shoot
Does breaching 4+ mean the plasmas become ap2 again? Just thought all terminators had 2 wounds now and the plasma cannon at the start only caused 2 unsaved wounds on the Tyrants so only one should have been removed as it’s not double toughness? I don’t have the rules myself hence asking for clarification
Does it seem really dull to anyone else that you can choose to allocate wounds to your models with 2+ saves in any unit. Which means rolling loads of dice to save on 2s unless Las or Melta, then just kill the ablative troops. Old 7th removed the nearest model which avoided this issue
@@jackwhorton6826 yeah it's pretty mind numbing. I dread to think of the tedium of dropping a load of ordnance on a unit with an artificer sergeant or centurion sitting there. Minutes of template scattering, buckets of dice rolls, and finally a load of 2+ saves. :(
Yes and no. You have to take all your wounds on the model you pick until it dies then continue, but there's no look out sir. So while you can tank everything on the 2+ save model that doesn't have an AP if there's also a lascannon in that squad targeting them that sgt. Is definitely dying
The 2+ save roll could be speeded up by rolling 2 dice at a time. Then should you roll a 1 + 2, roll a further dice, 1-3 a second marine dies (representing the 2 rolled for a 3+ save)
I haven't messed about with warhammer for ages Looking ti buy the new horus heresy bundle and make chaos space marines with it. Question is, do the parts fit the new chaos space marines?
Goonhammer did a model review, with mk6 marines side by side. They are approximately the same size, maybe a hair shorter, but the mk6s are slightly bigger than mk3 and 4s so probably a better choice
Thanks for putting out some HH. Not sure if things have been rushed around MWG but seems odd to have this introduced as 'another HH 2.0 report'. Guessing you had some bigger intro games planned. Perhaps something was drastically wrong with the rules for those? Really look forward to your games as I know there is a lot of love for Heresy among you all.
Dont get crazy with theories, This is the fist game i played/filmed. Its just the way i do intros, "Welcome to another blah blah blah..." its just comes out of my mouth
@@mwgjosh5161 Guessing the Chaos SM... I mean Ravaged Star campaign, plus the announcement to do more totally original miniatures, might have strained things? (Edit: not condemning it, just curious. Actually have a 1st Ed copy of Wild Assent and am backing Stormsunder so I support the LSG team. Used to be a vault member too)
Neither are new unfortunately. The Iron Circle are an Iron Warriors unique unit which act as Perturabo’s bodyguard. And similarly the Mhara Gol Dreadnought is a Word Bearers possessed Dreadnought, though you can certainly use it as a Hellforged Contemptor in 40k
I think that HH would be great in the apocalypse rule set. The only thing you would have to house rule would be data sheets for Primarchs. They have cards for for the different legions to add a little flavor.
Nope, 2 shots per side that are twin linked. Normal LRs are 2 per side, no twin linked. My games in the vault, and I had many LRs to make sure and check hahaha.
They give you the main rulebook, and the rules for all the units in the box. The actual legion rules are sold separately, one book for loyalists, one for heretics. 340 odd page hard bounds for $70 MSRP, $55 from seemingly any other store.
Gotta love the friendly fire, IRON WITHIN! I do understand why perty hated working with them, deamons being uncoordinated and oblivious to orders and all that Also im really forgetful so please don’t stop mentioning anything special like night fighting
So in 1.0 the Word Bearers rolled 3 dice for morale and picked the lowest 2, making their True Believers their strong point. In 2.0, they obviously don't believe any more as they were running. IN some incredible Irony, now the Iron Warriors are true believers..... WTF has happened to Heresy?!
The Word Bearers trait is much worse than it was against easy rolls but much better against difficult ones. It's certainly different but I'm not sure it's weaker.
Its not a knock because your only playing by the rules, but a flamer weapon shouldn't be tanked by 2 models when a unit is hit 40plus times...such a dumb ruling against the type of weapon a flamer is :-)
@@cormacgeraghty1710 Yes saw that just now. Yeah that is flippin stupid. Should be the old assign one hit each guy in squad then wrap back around. So 10 man with Praetor and another guy, and 48 hits lets say, each should make 4 saves. This is a issue of a 8th edition rule, wounded model has to take the hits after wounded, being used in a edition NOT designed for it.
@@memnarch129 Yea I completely agree, or even if for normal shooting weapons like bolters you could choose who the wounds went on but any template weapon had to be evenly spread around the models they covered, would give things like flamers their own tactical use then.
this seemed really bland, i miss old 3rd ed rules but it feels a bit unbalanced. WB just did nothing all game, no reactions and no special rules. IW with tons of reactins and +1 shot and str on all bolters. is this typical? or was the WB dude just not sure on his army rules?
They had Daemon bound warriors, a Daemon dreadnought and Ashen Circle. Word Bearers don't need as many upgrades on their core units (though they can get some).
@@anonymousgeoff5399 thanks man, I guess word bearers are just not my army then. I feel like not having the reactions is super detrimental, sure the demons are strong but the volume of fire just outweighs the models. I guess i would like to see more army plays but IW do seem a bit busted.
I'm not sure why this is But the idea and now seeing it like this... movement trays for units that are supposed to be flexible really takes away from the what they game used to be. feels bad.
