Tip for anyone doing two separate eye looks like Angie did with the second palette: take a pic of the palette you’re using and put the pic in grayscale. It’ll help you see which shades have similar depth despite being different hues
This format is really fun, I hope you do more regardless of how many palettes you have to use. This video helped me to decide which one of these palettes to get, seeing them use back to back instead of separate videos. I especially think this is a good format when you multiple items that are tied together in a way. Whether it is a seasonal releases, like this one which were mainly Halloween themed or palettes with similar color stories.
I know your indie videos get less clicks, but as someone who almost exclusively buys indie, I love it when you cover them! Great video, helped me make some decisions about a couple of these palettes after seeing yours and few other videos on them. Love the colors on you!
I discovered indie make up because of you, so it’s a definite YES to videos like these! Would love to see a video of you using your faves from Clionadh and Touch of Glam. The dedicated swatch parties were so helpful, and it would be lovely to see you use the shades in several looks.
I absolutely love the format of this video. Sometimes I don’t necessarily need a dedicated video on each new palette; swatches and one look with each palette is perfect in my opinion 🙃 I hope to see more videos like this one in the future if you can!💕
Loved this video. I think it's a great idea to do one look each with a few new palettes. Especially since it helps show what's being released around the same time and gives us one video to see multiple palettes because as lovely as these all are, lord knows we can't all buy every one of them. After seeing this, I know I'm most interested in the Spooked palette. That look was gorgeous. 🧡
"At least I have chicken" 🤣🤣🤣 Haven't thought of 'ol Leeroy in forever! 2005... a simpler and dare I say, a more carefree time on the internet, amIright? The nostalgia just hit me all up in my feefees 🥰🥰 I gotta say Angelica, I'm loving how you're incorporating tutorials into the vids without making the entire video about a tutorial. Great "out of the box" thinking!
I absolutely love that you were able to show us 4 looks from 4 palettes in only 30 mins. I love seeing the indie makeup you show, and I love seeing shorter versions of the tutorials to be able to see more looks and more palettes. I love how much you change up your content while still giving us what we want with the hauls and reviews every month and the new makeup news every week. This is why so many of us come back to you again and again.
Yay for the Spooked Palette🎉 I have used mine three times already and plan on another tomorrow. The purple shimmer is killer on. Definitely try it next time. 🤩
Omg I just clicked so fast when I saw 4 looks! I’m so excited! What a great idea! Now to watch the video! Oh, have you seen the new huda beauty eye palette? Looks pretty similar to the recent ND palette! Well actually….it like the juvia’s place Nubian and the ND retro….
The final look with the apple green shade is just to die for. I have to check if I have any green like that 💚 I liked the concept of multiple looks and palettes. I would love to see you continue with more videos like this. I love that we get to see how you do the looks as I find a lot of inspiration in your videos ❤️
I couldn’t sleep last night so I binge watched some of your videos that I missed and now I get another one! Watching you apply colourful makeup never gets old. ❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I’d love you’d do this more often, and maybe even (if you still get them) make a couple of videos dedicated to European indie brands (shipping and customs make so many of those awesome US brands super expensive, and we may be missing out on some fantastic brands on this side of the pond). You can also revisit older palettes and battle them out :)
Yes Angie, I really like this format for showing new palettes without a dedicated video for each. Perfect for those of us with short attention spans! 😜
I LOVE this idea for a video. Four new palettes with four looks......brilliant! I would definitely enjoy more videos like this one, even with two or three palettes.
I’ve ordered the Sugar Drizzle matte palette, as I am a big fan of SD. But OMG the Gourmonde Girs Spooked palette looks INSANE! The colourstory screams Halloween to me and it’s wonderful to se an indie brand fully embracing a banging Halloween colourstory! Am super excited for that palette ❤
For someone who has the memory of a goldfish, I really like the format of doing multiple palettes in a video, because seeing comparisons in a “one-stop shop” kind of way makes it way easier for me to keep track of everything. But it’s all about what works for you. Also, this week has been a poop sandwich with a lot of sleepless nights, and I’ve been rewatching a lot of your videos (especially on the vlog channel) as a bit of a safe space, so once again, thank you for being you. 🧡
I loooove this format! For someone who cannot afford all four palettes, it is easier to compare them in terms of color and formula when I can immediately see each palette one after another. :)
I like this video a lot and I LOVE indie! In terms of your low buy questions and what content ppl will like, I think Lauren Mae does this balance REALLY WELL. she buys just enough new to keep that convo going but also does a ton of creative stuff with her existing collection: shop my stash and make an everyday makeup drawer, recreate palettes with singles, swatch all my cream blushes and rank them, talk about how preferences change over time, talk about everything she has from a single brand and then do makeup with it, cut down 24 pans down to 12 abs build with her singles, live swatch parties etc. she might be good inspiration for you if you want to head the low buy direction!
I love watching you use and review indie palettes. Not only because I love getting new inspiration, but also because colorful indie palettes are pretty much 90% of my makeup collection and I really value your opinion. So anytime you want to show off some indie palettes I'm always excited to watch!!!
Mattes where you get full pigment by swirling your brush in are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! 🙌🏻 I feel like they give me the most versatility, they're easier to work with for this non-pro, they're less messy, less fragile, and they're way easier to travel with. 💜 That's just me, though. I wish they were more common in the indie world, where it seems like softer, powdery mattes are much more prevalent/popular. I definitely appreciate when it's easy to find a little something for everybody's different preferences. -- Loved this video, Angie! That teal/purple look was such a stunner! GORGEOUS. 🌻🦋✨
An apple barrel is when you fill the old old wooden pails fill them with water then apples. The apples float to the top. You tie the hands and use only your mouth to "Bob for an apple". When I saw that red for some reason I knew it was not going to be that pigmented. It is buildable and not patchy or choppy. Love you Angel. 😍
Your look with the Spooked palette is conjuring 'caramel apple' feels (but like delicious flavors; not the gross coffee flavor!) It's beautiful! The bite-sized review/look format of this video is great and is especially useful for when palettes are similar themes/color stories. The timestamps are lovely too! I think my favorite Angie-ism is when you put on a shade you're excited for, then look at your monitor and smile because it didn't disappoint 🧡it warms the heart 😊
The Mattes palette is one a rare treasure for those of us who are obsessed with a range of purples and use them for contrast with everything else. Most purps run too red in the undertone or that muddy mauve that makes you look all old and tired- a few of these have a pink base but they are really clear if that makes sense? So far been a wonderful tonal compliment to the warmer hues and metallic in my collection. Also it has insane staying power which I wish I'd known going in, as it tends to favor more precise brush application instead of sweeping/blending. Despite not really having the best brushes for it, I've had like... 3 crumbs of fallout. Eternal crumbs of colour that stayed all day even when the concealer didn't.
I really enjoyed the voiceover segment, it was a nice change of pace. You've always been great at explaining what you're doing and why, but your cadence in the voiceover was so soothing while just as instructive.
I do think it's a flex for an indie brand to release an all matte (mainly) purple palette. When matte purples are known as some of the hardest shadows to make. Though I do agree it should've been smaller.
I said the same thing to release a mainly all purple matte palette that everyone knows is the hardest to formulate and if it was good then any matte shade they make should be bomb
This was an excellent video! For me this is exactly what I need - closeups, swatches, a look and your thoughts. And all of the looks are stunning of COURSE! 🖤
Please do more of this. I don’t get PR which means I have to budget a decide. I know you understand budgeting. I’m just saying every week I watch videos to decide where I want to put my money and seeing makeup head to head is what I need. Thank you.
I this is a good idea. This way we can see and compare in one video. Then we can decide what we would like to purchase without having to watch a weeks worth of videos. Loved it‼️
I really liked how you showcased each pallette, included swatches, and did a look with each.. I think you should definitely keep doing these kind of videos
I like this format. Im not a person who likes watching makeup tutorials and dedicated pallete videos (unless I really want the palette) but I do want to see swatches and how they perform. I hope you continue with this series.
I absolutely love when you wear blk lipstick.. if you can .. because I loved when you use to do fun lipstick colors! .. yes this format of doing palette is good.. ❤️😘 you get a 4in 1.. 🥰🥰🥰 I like this!
Bobbing for apples is a traditional *pre-pandemic * game where you take a barrel of water and toss in some apples and then have people try to pluck them out using only their teeth. So that color name is actually pretty iconic 🍏 I love the spooky palette and I’m so glad to see you use that black lip clay I’ve been wanting it for a hot minute!!!
I’m soooo happy you tried Sugar Drizzle!!! You are going to love their shimmers too. This video style is great. I’ve already ordered the SD palette but, now I want all of these.
Great video idea to combine these. I was really happy to see swatches and application of each of these new palettes. One small improvement idea to consider - share 1 or 2 ideas for other color combos you’d do with each palette and swatch those out
I would love to see a video like this with the new unearthly palettes if you get them. The last eye look and palette are my favorite. I will definitely be recreating with the palettes I already own. Thanks Angie 🥰
Angie, I love this idea of showing off different pallets in one video💜Love all the eyeshadows your created ❤️ Love seeing you having fun with colors and your lips 💋 ❤️
Yes, I love this video idea! It’s a great way to consolidate several new releases so we get a taste of them but you don’t feel burdened by the workload.
Love how you can showcase these palettes and show a look without spending a whole video. This would be a great idea going forward to use palettes that don't necessarily warrant a video on their own! And if you really like one, use it in another video later!
This is one of my favourite videos you’ve done in a while! I love seeing all the palettes but in a condensed video, and I know how much work and time must’ve gone into creating this, well done it’s great ☺️
I honestly want you to do what makes you happy. Thr least stress and most joy. I love this format, I'm sure you had a lot of fun combining it all into one video, but I will also watch anything you produce 💚
I think this was a great idea every week you could do one video on all the new eyeshadow palettes you got that week I could see how that would be easier to keep up on reviews and it doesn't matter if it's a dedicated video or not we still get to see a beautiful lot I love this idea and I think you're a pioneer
I'm just happy to see you doing a bunch of indie palettes, regardless of the format. If they each had a video would of clicked on all of them, all together I'm going click on them. Lately its felt like a ton of mainstream celebrity sephora/ulta stuff which I dont click on.
I agree, I love spring/summer and can hardly stand autumn/winter. Halloween and Bonfire night are awful. Wish i could hibernate until April ☀ 💐 🏝 🍹 xxx
I loved this style video. We got to see all the new indie palettes, how they preform, and get some inspo. Without these 4 palettes taking up majority of a whole week of content like you said. So I'd say if this is how you want to continue to do first impressions with eyeshadow palettes when you have a few at a time like you did in today's video I wouldn't be against it. I thought it was a fun idea and I really liked watching several looks in one video. Especially because you still included swatches and thoughts after each look. As always do what is best for you, but I think this was a cool idea, and a well rounded video.
Love this concept! And I am SO happy you did the Spooky palette! I am on the hunt to grab one when it releases! And if no one mentioned it, Apple Bob comes from apple bobbing, an odd tradition of dunking one's face into a barrel of water and apples, trying to grab an apple with your teeth.
A think a mini indie round up is a good idea. There are so many new pallets all the time, and you’ll get to do more videos on other things if you an round up new new 2-3 at a time.
This is a great video idea! While #4 is my favorite look, doing each eye differently like look 2 is great for seeing as many shades as possible. You could create polls for IG & TT asking which palette from the video do we want to see used again in a GRWM, member live, ect. 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway, all of these are gorgeous just like you 👑, lol. Have a wonderful & blessed weekend!
All of these looks are so beautiful, and inspiring. I really enjoy videos featuring small indie brands. This format of video is just so fun, please continue to do this as long as you enjoy it. 🤗 I was definitely interested in all these palettes for one reason or another. I'm on a low buy, so I think it's really fun to see others play with the palettes, and draw inspiration from what I already own.
This is a good video idea, showing comparisons among the latest release palettes. I think it helps in making a decision in what to buy based on what formulas perform well and not buying duplicates.
Love this format!! All the palettes are so stunning, indie brands really are killing it in the eyeshadow game. I can’t even pick a favourite look you did from this video, they’re all so stunning 😍😍
I really liked this format... because you show the new palletes but also show diferent applications and color combo ideas ... for ppl in some countries getting indie brands is nearly impossible... and even though maybe we are not buying the items we can get inspired on the combos and application and look into our collections... 😉
