Yup, in Canada if you invite a supporter of right wing authoritarianism to parliament - you lose your job, your reputation is ruined, and you're a national embarrassment. In some jurisdictions (run by right wingers) if you invite a supporter of right wing authoritarianism to the seat of government - you get get praised, rewarded, and celebrated!

If that happened, government would be grinded to a halt, a shut down of government would occur and thousands of essential workers may not get paid, maybe for weeks or months till new elections finalize. That would be catastrophic for many.

Voting for parties is what has gotten us here to begin with. There was over 20 people in the precious mayoral election in Toronto. But NO ONE I asked knew that fact. Same goes for federal elections. Only those who end up on TV and are spoken of, as viable candidates, are even considered by the public.
