Putting a HP OEM 650W PSU in a HP Z1 G5, with the I7-9700. To do so it required a couple extenders for MB connections P1 & P3, the 7 pin is overly long can zip, the gpu power are fine as is. The lenovo nvidia geforce rtx 2080 super graphic card 8g ddr6 is going in, am already cage free!

I need your help Please ? My problem is that ...i remove the CMOS battery to try another computer to test CMOS battery on that computer, but when the CMOS plugin back on the Z2 computer but the computer is not working, nothing display on the monitor ..,do you have any solution Please 🙏
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 2 года назад
This could be tough one…Generally. Step 1 would be to try a new CMOS, and then take the system down to a minimum configuration and see if it boots that way. Beyond that, more in-depth troubleshooting services would need to be done. You can contact sales@itcreations.com for a quote if you need it. Perhaps try changing the battery orientation too. Also, some instructions that might work here, page 68, maintenance and service guide h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06099795.pdf. Good luck!

Does the HP Z2 Tower have a built-in microphone?
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA Год назад
The HP Z2 G4 tower does offer built-in HD integrated audio but that only means there is a jack on the front of the system for a combo headphone/microphone, and a 3-in-1 audio connection in back. in other words, the microphone headphones are sold separately. there is a small speaker on the front of the system but it is not powerful and you will need to connect speakers for good quality sound. Thanks for watching!

Hi,What is the difference between z2g4 and z4g4.Which one is More advanced ?
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 3 года назад
Z4 G4 is the more advanced version with more options for adding more stuff in general. The Z2 is a small compact unit while the Z4 is a mini tower unit.

If I get one with intel graphics, is there any reason why I cant add my own card later. Its the same board right? do you know if the PSU has the supplementary power connectors for a high end card, or do they only have those if you go for a quadro when you first buy it?
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 4 года назад
Hi Matthew, yes you can use the Intel Graphics until you get a card. However, it depends on which system you are interested in as far as what cards it will support. I don't think a high-end Quadro card is in your future if you go with an entry-level system. If you want a high-end card you will need one of the higher end workstations. These ones will only support GPUs around 50W. Some of the high-end quadros require 200 - 300W of power. Cables are usually included with workstations for attaching a GPU but we actually don't stock or sell these systems, just the Z4, Z6, and Z8 G4 platforms which will accept one or multiple Quadro cards. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

@@Itcreations-LA the one I'm looking at comes with either intel 630 or quadro2200, just want to know if it would require a new PSU for say a 2080 if I don't buy the factory installed pro series GPU.
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 4 года назад
@@matthewsnee660 I take it back. The quadro cards will work on some of these systems although out of the four options I talk about I'm still not sure specifically which you are interested in purchasing. Aside from that, the Z2 G4 tower will most likely support that GTX 2080TI card you are eyeing but you will need the highest output PSU for that, which would be 650W on that system. We have not tried this GPU on that particular system but the requirements are very similar to those for the Quadro RTX6000 which is supported. Hope that helps.

Hi ihave a quick question about the drive bays you mentioned " 4 integrated SATA ports intenal drive: 1x 3.5 and 1x 2.5 * plus 2x external drives using 2.5in smart drive" < what does smart drie mean? :) also according to HP's docs system has Expansion Bays 1 shared internal/external 3.5" bay. 1 internal 3.5" bay 1 internal 2.5" bay (for SSD only) so does thi mean we also configure the system as 2x 3.5in drive and 1x 2.5in drive?
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 5 лет назад
Hi Jeni, I am happy to clarify but before we begin I have just one question. Which system are you asking about? The video shows four different platforms in the new Z2 G4 Entry-Level workstation line-up, the Z2 mini, the HP Z2 Small Form Factor, the HP Z2 Tower, and the HP EliteDesk 800 workstation edition. Are you interested in a specific platform?

@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 5 лет назад
Hi@@jenevivesalamat2734, So none of the links to the maintenance manual or the user guide are available for some reason. This is what I think this system offers: 2 Integrated SATA ports for two M.2 storage devices. And then you have the 1 shared internal/external 3.5" bay. (that would be the external bay on the front of the system, right next to the optical drive.) 1 internal 3.5" bay (An actual internal drive bay that can be used for a 3.5-inch drive, and probably with a 2.5-inch drive right on top.) I believe you are correct in your assumption here: so does this mean we also configure the system as 2x 3.5in drive and 1x 2.5in drive? because you can place a 3.5-inch drive in the media bay on the front. One more thing is you can install 2x Z-Turbo drives in the PCIe slots dedicated to M.2 storage. Sorry I cannot provide a more concise answer but the documentation for this system seems to be missing and we don't carry these entry-level workstations… Thanks for watching!

can you add in a sata Bluray dvd writer in a hp z2 g4 workstation ??
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 5 лет назад
Hi Josue, Yes you can. Check out page 13 of the quickspecs, here: www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/HP-Z4-G4/HP-Z4-G4-Quick-Specs.pdf, It tells you the part number and what else you will need in the notes. Read the notes. I'm pretty sure other manufacturer's optical devices are compatible with the system but HP wants to sell you their stuff. Unfortunately, we don;t have the blue ray writer either…Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

I know you mentioned this gpu with the hybrid desktop/workstation - However, is there enough space in the tower for me to drop in a gtx 1080 gpu ? Edit* in the z2 g4 full sized tower
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 5 лет назад
Hi MaterPants2, My first question, where MasterPants1? But that's beside the point. While the GTX 1080 is not in the list of supported Graphics cards, has not been tested on this platform, and we don't have the platform in house to test with that GPU-it should work based on the power consumption, 3.0 PCIe slot, and form factor. This system is already equipped to handle an Nvidia Quadro P5000, so you should be good to go. I left a few data sheets in the description, bit.ly/2LxiCUK that have more information regarding supported GPUs. Also, here are the links to the specs for both the P5000 and the GTX 1080, and they both have very similar requirements, www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-1080/specifications images.nvidia.com/content/pdf/quadro/data-sheets/192195-DS-NV-Quadro-P5000-US-12Sept-NV-FNL-WEB.pdf Both also require a minimum of 500W power, which this system does support. All that said, we do have an HP Z8 G4 set up with the Nvidia 1080TI (also not in the list of supported GPUs for the Z8 G4,) for our video editing and it works great. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching!

Are these systems upgradable? Particularly the Elitedesk. Later down the line is swapping/upgrading components possible?
@Itcreations-LA
@Itcreations-LA 5 лет назад
Hi Guitar Dude, All of these systems can be upgraded very minimally. There is also not much choice for graphics cards but for basic and intermediate applications they are very useful. If you want more expansion options then look to the HP Z4 G4 with a single socket or the top of the line models the Z6 G4 or the Z8 G4. You might want to look at some of the legacy systems as well the Z640, z440., Z840 or even the z820 if you want expandability. Here is a link to our HP Workstation page goo.gl/ay6bgA where we have the high-end workstations across a few generations. Check out Dell and Lenovo Workstations as well. All three produce very similar appliances. BTW, we have Dell and Lenovo workstations too. As an example we are currently using a Z8 G4 workstation to edit our videos. It's outfitted with a single processor (Intel Scalable something or other…) 32Gb of memory and a single 1080TI graphics card. the applications are loaded on an M.2 NVMe drive which is really what provides the speed for launching the applications and quick reads. Clearly this system is sparsely outfitted but definitely gets the job done quickly. Whatever you do, get SSDs of some sort or another. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
