If the rumors about the system having DLSS are true, it will definitely be able to hit 4K. If you applied DLSS ultra performance or performance modes to the current Switch games, most of them would hit 4K as well. I expect internal power similar to Steam Deck, with DLSS upscaling everything to 1440p or 4K.
that would be pretty amazing. i expect games on the switch 2 to look pretty fantastic because of the performance bump so if we can get a crisp 4k image in docked with stable frame rates im all for that. future of the switch looks bright!
They aren't rumors, and yes, they would absolutely be able to use dlss performance modes to hit 4k, it's just a matter of how you want to distribute your raster performance for the input resolution of dlss. If you want more shiny effects layers, and other things that take up render time and raster performance for that low res input frame, the less time you have for rebuilding a high res frame of a given quality mode (fixed time cost, maskable, unless you run out of frame time on non asynchronus tasks) and for higher fps.
If I had a choice between 4k or stable 60fps with every single game thrown at it (including current Switch 1 games; via backwards compatibility updates); I rather 60fps at 1080p when docked and 60fps 720p (stable) in handheld. However, with all this talk about DLSS; it is hard to imagine that some games won't do some upscaled version of 4k, but again, I rather DLSS be used to give us the highest framerate possible; as that affects how enjoyable a game can be, with button response time and the smooth looking movement of a game.
thats one thing im most excited for with the switch 2, the increase in performance. i played botw on pc and playing it at 60 fps was a difference experience. it made it so much more enjoyable. the world around me just looked better.
i cant for that, especially xeno. i wanna see what the new one is gonna look like. if the power of the switch 2 is close to a ps4 pro, those wizards are gonna cook up something mind blowing!

I definitely want 4k. I am tired of my games looking bad on my 55” 4 k tv. I also want faster load times and backwards compatibility. If not i wont upgrade right away. They will have to have enough games that i like for me to spend a lot of money to upgrade. If backwards compatible with cartridges at least ill have enough to keep me playing till they come out with enough good stuff
I want justice for the bayonetta series. There is no other game like it and it fell off with its third installment. I want them to bring back the umbran magic on a compatible present gen console.
I’m gonna set this one out. I really am hoping and extremely holding out for Nintendo to do a new Wario video game besides warioware for the switch 2. Either it be a new one. Or a remake of a warioland game being warioland shake it. Or Wario world remake but with a newly edition of playing Waluigi…..and perhaps co-op between the 2 characters too.

i would think so. i doubt nintendo would leave behind such a massive install base. its near nintendo ds numbers and the switch 2 is also suppose to be like the og switch as well.
