Videos like this show two things: 1) how easy it to create on the fly with Akai MPCs and 2) how Andy Mac has an incredible ear for tune and on-the-fly creativity - there's, no better ambassador to demonstrate this gear 👍
He called it “cheap”. He needs some lessons in salesmanship. You never say the product you’re selling is cheap or cheaper. Great value/better value is what you should say. Cheap implies low quality. Cheap and nasty. Cheap is overtly negative.
Got a MPC One+ on the way, excited to give it a go. Had a 2000xl back in the day, then the original Studio, looking forward to having a standalone unit again!
I am proud owner of "old" black MPC ONE and i love it so much. Jura looks great but i am okay without it. I have great external synths from Dreadbox and my MPC one is central brain between them. Biggest bottleneck of MPC ONE is one input and one midi port. I know there are more expensive machines from AKAI with more ports. MPC ONE can use usb midi bus but it has some pains ... I hope Jura will be available for older MPCs later too ;-)
Hello all. Thank you for that excellent video! Detailed and precise information. You made it look like so much fun, wow! Much appreciated. Can you do one for the Akai MPK Mini Plus? I know nothing about any of this but want to learn. Is the MPC Key 37 or the MPC One+ too much for a beginner? Please advise. Rock rock on!!!
Fantastic video! I noticed an Akai MPK mini plus keyboard on the table. Do you have a video on how to connect all this hardware to a computer / speakers / other instruments / pedals? I'm lost but ready
Launch the upgrade logic board for previous devices! 2g to 4g TOP. That's right. And, of course, the price should be affordable for everyone. You just need to have a little awareness and everything will be fine for all users. No hate, i love Mpc's
folks will find a way to complain about all of this packed inside for a great price. name another sampler/module that does what the current range of MPC's do for the same price as the One and the Live II
Vst for CDJ midi deck turntable controllers please Akai? (The ability to plug in my midi controller deck and, scratch samples in standalone while recording is a game changer).
All of these companies have been doing the same thing. They’ll release the product and hold back one key feature just to rerelease it with the added feature that they’ve should’ve put on the previous unit. Wifi and Bluetooth isn’t some new technology. It should’ve been on the first Mpc One
mpc one is really great the moment I used it it just changed everything for me in music making it's full of surprises the potential is so high I just feel so lucky to have it right now
may i ask you how do you connect it to say a dj controller like a denon prime plus so you can dj and also use the akai to mix into tracks or simply add your own beats and styles on the akai
Ableton link on your Denon and this. You need to choose which option of the sync types on the Denon suit you, tempo, beat or bar.. then off you go. I have just starting mixing using it too
I'm glad a got a great hit, when I searched the tubes for {AKAI Professional MPC One+} I now know what drum machine I will materialize, and which I will drop Thank you for this awsome demo++
So the changes from MPC One: It's red It has 16gb instead of 4gb internal storage It has Wifi and Bluetooth You get a free plugin with the purchase price I'd buy a second hand original MPC One for less money.
I’ve been curious about the akai workflow and I hope they install SUPER high Quality sound, so I can experience this popular workflow eventually. Mastering can be easier from high end sound .
Denon DJ is also owned by the same owners as akai, and they’ve been leveling up huge in the DJ scene. If I was to get a new dj set up, it would come from Denon. Pioneer is overpriced and overrated now a days. And when is comes to standalone production, akai is king.
@@dannydecanhas3743 Denon and Numark were always mediocre brands to me. I would never recommend those brands to anyone I cared about. I really care about sound quality as well. Cheerio
can someone please explain why mine keeps saying user not logged in? ive only had it for 2 weeks and it worked fine for a couple of days but now it says im not logged in. half of the pluggins now cant be used. i picked the jura pluggin when i registered and i couldnt activate it so i gave up aftwer wasting 2 hours messing. the next day it suddenly worked and now it doesnt again..... my first AKAI purchase and probably my last.
If you already own an MPC One, there is absolutely no need to upgrade. Personally, I don't need Bluetooth or WiFi. 2Gb RAM and a 128Gb SD card is more than enough for electronic music.
Wait... since this is a linux based box, if it has wifi and bluetooth drivers in the firmware (and firmware is the same between ONEs) it means we might have a chane to enable usb dongles with the same wifi/bluetooth chips...meaning we could have those features for the good old mpc One via usb dongles...
Once MPC provides a song arranger, it can be considered a music production platform. At the moment, it’s a drum machine, sampler and looper with some software instruments, but you still can’t arrange a piece of music on it. This is a small evolutionary improvement on the original MPC One, with AKAI going for some easy improvements, but avoiding the elephant in the room: no arranger.
They know that 99.9% of their base never get past one or two 4/8-bar loops. And 99.9% of them.....never even finish that......And will never come close to finishing a "song". Song arranger?......😏
If the Original One was easier to update via Computer, that would have been great from the start. Making a whole new MODEL is really disappointing to the OG owners
I have the MPC One+. This thing unleashes massive creativity for me as a musician who is fully adept at making beats, but also an instrumentalist. Despite the creative boost, I can confirm that MPC software is broken. So broken that I almost cannot use it professionally. For one, the MPC ignores start and end points in long sequences if the start point isn't bar one. This is most evident when trying to string sequences together, which is integral to the workflow, that do not have start bars on the first bar. For instance in a 99 bar sequence with audio tracks, I may sequence copy and use bars 8-12 in one copied sequence, and bars 24-32 in another copied sequence. This does not work, and the alternative of tying to edit within the software to copy tracks to a new sequence so that the ranges start on the one is so tedious--the software sucks for traditional audio editing. The "delete bars" in a sequence function does absolutely nothing, as well. That's my main workflow issue. But I have experienced a ton of other bugs, as well. I really wish Akai would stop adding features and would just deliver what they are currently promising their users.
That's first 80's synth make me eyes water lol some piece of kit, touch screen is class, might sell me drumbrute. It that a small audio interface they have plugged into the back?
Audio I/O is all built in. I had a USB hub plugged in. You can also connect up to 32 Midi devices via USB and any compatible class compliant audio interface if you want to expand the I/O.
All of the current generation MPC's use AKM converters. They're really good, but there's no voicing on the inputs, they can't be driven too hard, or they clip in the most unpleasing way possible. I did add an antelope audio interface to my MPC and clock synced it to my RME using an spdif connection. Now i have the added benefit of being able to sample my computer samplers using the autosampler feature through a digital spidf connection. Better yet, I use my outboard gear inline while auto sampling, allowing me to sculpt my keygroups in unique and extraordinary ways... In the right hands, the MPC is the ultimate workstation. Say your a gigging musician, you need a NORD lead for a particular set of sounds, and a Kronos for another... With an MPC you could rip the sounds you need out of your Nord's, Korgs, etc, and have all of the sounds travel with you in one machine. If the sound isn't what you thrive for, you could do what I did, give it its own interface, if you have an exotic interface elsewhere putting out a steady clock, you could bring that into the mix. Suddenly your MPC sounds better than every other workstation on the market, while being undeniably the best sequencer on planet earth. In short, the converters aren't terrible. And if you thrive for better sound, adding a decent interface isnt hard.
@@davidcache I was just trying to be ironic... apparently there are people that give a damn about the converters in these new MPCs not being the same as the old ones. And honestly, ppl forget most of the music is consumed on AirPods, so who gives a damn about converters? :))
Spidermans new kind of Nintendo, would love it still in MPC old school white but however it's good so the ONE might get cheaper a bit too now and btw that beat was not from this world imo damn
#mindblown wow, amazing! Left me with a couple quesitons though? Is the midi input CC programmable? E.i., could I use the pads on the MPK mini to switch between patches I'm playing live on keys? Can I set up the knobs on the KB to adjust patch param? If so, do they allow you to have seperate params for each patch that change when the patch changes?
I hope all the haters listened well. Andy said they put this one out to add the WiFi in order to move the platform forward. I can here all the complaining about the sound this, the sound that...who cares...MPC is still King. They are making it affordable for ANYBODY who wants to get into music creation- and Im all for that! I had to wait years before I could afford an MPC, so to see the different products and price points is great!
Honestly guys I wish you didn't try to snipe at Behringer with the affordable classic stuff, it's a great opportunity but I wanna see more original stuff. I really like fabric and flavor pro, that new delay sounds pretty sweet too. I just bought a legit Juno 106s and gotta say this jura sounds pretty similar to a lot of the onboard sounds. It's nice to have the added features though for sure. I'd rather see you guys make a 16 q link USB device for the masses of people like me who only have 4 q links. Or ya know a battery powered version akin to the mpc500. A new body format and button layout is pretty needed especially after the special edition debacle. Mpc keys was your best idea recently a smaller version would be cool
That' s the most bs update ever 🤣💩?!?! Internal storage isn' t that critical, NO Ram upgrade, no battery, all the new instrument plugins are not included... I' ll stick with my One Retro...
After researching for a while into standalone grooveboxes I've settled on a MC707 and couldn't be happier with it. Ableton Push 3 standalone looks super interesting to check out in the future. I don't know what it is about the MPC line but while it seems appealing I'm just not vibeing with it.
I have the mc 707 - I’d go back and would change it in a heartbeat for an MPC One plus for sure. Especially considering the saving - but when without it. Roland is too restrictive (love them anyway btw)
Comparing the mc707 to mpc one plus is like comparing a RACING HORSE to a donkey. Roland is good if MIDI’d to something, like a mpc. AKAI did a great job as always. Just one of those things, can’t please everyone. But it’s not the gear, it’s the ear of the creator
@@dleonardrandom3416its also the gear wich lets you think in a certain way to create stuff. So defnitly its the tools and gear too and not just the ear...somuch artist want a particular piano or guitar of sampler of daw for certain style of sound/sounddesign.
I know very little about MPC boxes. Do these come preloaded with multiple synths including the one shown here? Also can you purchase and download other synths for use in the MPC One?
@@plantpoweredmuscle You get a voucher, so basically yes. Or you could get others, the Model D is excellent, OPX is good. But JURA is probably the choice I'd get, and I own a Juno-60 :)
I don't know why they can't be like fl studios if you a register user you get life time upgrades and updates plugins instead of wasting money another new machine that looks no different from previous releases
Andy is playing without a beanie hat. I did not think DAWless gear worked without hat wearing. I've seen a lot of DAWless tutorials and they all wear hats indoors. Can anyone recommend a hat that will raise my DAWless game. Also if I go mobile and play in front of a graffiti mural at a skate park will that autospawn bangers?
When you buy a MPC and register it they will give you a redeem code and you can pick free plugins , stem separation or expansion packs , I picked jura .
I mean it ain’t like OG One owners are gonna buy this . At least nobody that’s only had theirs less than a yr like me. What AKAI should do is offer owners like me some kind of trade in incentive seeing as how just last year this same box was $900 with no Wi-Fi.
Yop good vives and good man with happy feeling i love it like that ! ❤ I Ve got a force but the mpc feel More easier to use for direct improve ideas ! Or it is an illusion ( imagination go out my body) 😅 Big up and kisses
Let me hear that thing do a John Bonham bass drum kick and a snare and then maybe I'll be interested this thing is claimed as a drum machine on Sweetwater
