I'm psyched, so glad EDF6 is happening as EDF5 was my all time favorite. As for World Brothers, I love the idea, definitely an interesting addition to the series. I'm just curious who is developing World Brothers, if it's going to be Yuke's or someone new. Either way, I'm hyped for both releases. Also, I'm cautiously optimistic about the return of Dragons, as they were certainly super annoying to deal with in 2025, and then they were sort of present in EDF5 in the form of the flying frogs. I thought they were a little bit better but still annoying. I hope they're more fine-tuned this time around.

Kevin, I've a video idea that I'm not sure you've done. It's throwing stationary weapons onto vehicles, mech and helicopters etc. Using stationary rockets on the Barga is both hilarious and effective for taking on huge swarms of ants. It also works well with support equipment, and weapons can give the advantage in battle (hilarious on rotor blades). If you've done a vid on this, then you can ignore the post :) Just some ideas until Brothers and 6 arrive
Well the EDF 6 news a very intresting i'm little bit dissapointed whi the fact that the ranger squad and also the fencer squad are no longer in the game beacuse they were very strong and usefull in a lot of ways. Also the new type of hive that now the wasp build it inside the ruined house and building, now it looks like very realistic i always want to see the bugs building their own house inside our ruined building, and lastly the new dragon wow that was very intresting to see and from the picture it looks like vry big and tought to fight, so it's going to be fun i always lke killing dragons in 4.1.
So, I'm not sure how I feel about EDF 6. The overall aesthetic looking dark, grim, post apocalyptic is kinda underwhelming. Plus I'm very disappointed how the enemies look the same. I'd assume they just reused all the models from EDF 5 and essentially turned down their contrast. Hmm.
Well I mean, it is an Alien Invasion Game. So being post apocalyptic and Dark is completely fine. I don't find it "underwhelming" also, there is new enemy types like the new Dragons. Each EDF Game always adds new Enemies, you shouldn't worry about new enemy types. You should be happy that we're getting more EDF! You're gonna love it when it comes out. I'm sure.
You can still play edf4.1 and edf5 this generation. I'm sure there will be levels that are less dark, you can see them on the screenshots. At least they are doing something different, I think that's fine.
Edf is realy my best prefered games so i realy wanna know what happen after the fall of the army of the alien god of edf 5! I'm affraid who the earth is half destroyed! THE EDF DEPLOYS!
For sales numbers, a very rough guess could be made from the PSN stats gathered: gamstat.com/games/Earth_Defense_Force_5/ Note: they themselves say the data is not sales numbers, but PSN players. So one game shared across mutiple accounts in the same house, people playing split screen, maybe SharePlay?, and in the case of 2025 the ps3/ps4 release may mess stats up. But maybe 50-100,000 sales around the rest of the world?
It's a great game, but it plays very different from the main series. It gets cheap, unlike the main series, so I'd say definitely pick it up. I loved it!
Of course it is! Every EDF Game is worth a buy! If you love EDF and EDF as a franchise. Then you'll love the spin offs. Just remember that it's gonna be different from the mainline games like 4.1 and 5. Try not to compare The Spin Offs to The Mainline Games, because they're very different from eachother. Both versions do thier own thing. Don't listen to the haters who can't accept change and different versions of something. You're gonna have a blast just like any other EDF Game.
If you want story ,graphic and want to play single player, you might want to buy iron rain.. But if what you want is massive battle , massive enemy and also online multiplayer , EDF 5 is the right choice
Aside from the PS3 version of 2025, it's the weakest entry in the series I've played. The plat trophy grind is also terrible. It's still worth a look though. It definitely isn't a bad game.
