If you guys are looking for the *full tutorial* with the best settings for the Invisible Dive Case, check out my new video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zKpA7iMz4Xk.html
I read only Reddit that the dive case can get scratched and lose about 20% of the 360 video. So you CAN leave it on but you also would NOT want to leave it on
is it okay to use it for recording above water without removing the dive case after a swim? or should I remove it first? for the anti fog inserts, is it reusable or not? If not can you make a video on what would be the alternative for it when all of it are used. Thank you. Got excited about this new dive case coz of your video
Thanks for the well-done video, Jordan. Considering the X3 kit for a dive trip to Egypt. A couple of questions: how long does the battery last before recharging is needed? Also, do you have any experience at normal recreational diving depths, say 40 - 90 feet (13-30 meters)? Wondering if these depths will cause elimination of reds and yellows. Does it come with any filters? Thanks!
Can you take photos with the insta 360 or is it just video? Can you switch between photos and video under water or do you have to decide before going down what you want to use? Thanks
I can’t wait to try it! Is there a protective case that can get wet? I want to protect it when entering from shore and don’t want to scratch the lenses
That is a great idea to protect it really well even when entering the water. You could make another bag just like the one it comes with and then store it in your wetsuit when you enter the water. I just try to be really careful!🤙
I found out from another poster that even tho I had updated the firmware via the app, the app update was not enough. Once I downloaded the most current firmware (BIN file) to my desktop and then copied over to the memory card, NOW it works. Insta360 mentions to update the firmware but they do not articulate that probably the most current firmware should be installed via a desktop.
Nice video. What adapter did you get to connect the selfie stick to the dive house? I bought one but somehow I still keep seeing the bottom of the housing when I film under water. I align it very well, I assume it's the adapter I'm using. Any tips?
I used the old 360 case and when the camera got hot which was pretty quickly it would steam up the case even with the anti fog inserts, did anyone else experience this?
I feel like my One x2 with old dive housing creates a lot cleaner videos than X3 with invisible dive case. Even though i am recording at 5.7K 30 fps, the footage is just blurry, it's just out of focus like a phone camera is on touch focus mode before you touch the spot on the screen
Thanks Mr Jordan , always love your videos full of tips and tricks . Been following your you tube and purchased your books since i got my 1st gopro 4 when it was out Very helpful. Thank you Questions : The invisible stick that came with 360 bundle able to use in water with dive cave? and which lanyard should I buy to connect to that stick ( just like floating grip has a string on handle ) in the water you need something to put around the wrist. I lost 1 camera in the lake before cuz not putting the string around😊
Hi, Thank you so much for the long time support! Nice to hear from you!🙏 Yes, you can use the same selfie stick that came with the bundle. I use the 114cm Selfie Stick and it works great. Just be careful that you don't get sand inside the extensions when the camera is fully extended because it will make it hard to close. Besides that, the selfie stick handles the water well. If you want to use a lanyard around your wrist to prevent losing it, you will need to attach a handle at the base of the selfie stick. You can use a floating handle with a lanyard on it and it will float your setup. I hope that helps!
Hi, I would like to use this as a protective case for the lens, I have gone through 3 cameras due to scratches on the lens, i would like to just use it for out of the water, my question is, does it work well above water as in water? or will it be distorted? The lens guards from 36o don't seem to work very well... So I wanted to protect the camera this time.
when you put the camera on "diving mode" you cant change manually the settings anymore, so the ISO are very high and so I can never use the "dive" mode, if I shoot 30fps, I need shutter to 6O, so "dive" mode in sunny days can't work, any recommendations ?
Thanks for the comment! Yes, with the latest firmware, you can long press the Q button after the camera is powered on to enter Dive Case Mode. This is great to know in case you forget to put the camera into Dive Case Mode before closing the case.
Great present! Im loving the shots I got so far. The beach/ location and the currents also Will impact the quality of your shots so remember that. Storms and full moon tides can make the water a bit more smudgy. Nevertheless this is a great add on to Any ocean lover
Hi. Great video, thank you. I am about to buy this camera and case. But I am worried about losing it underwater. Is there a way to mount a cord or something to a selfie stick so I can secure it onto my wrist?"
unfortunately, my wife’s diving in Indonesia, for the first time with the dive case kit, and she’s experienced nothing but leakag. he’s reverted to using it only with snore, clean, but disappointed the case is waterproof at any depth
Hi Jordan. Hope you can help me. I boguth the x3 with the invisible diving case. I was thinking to use it also out the wather since I think it will help keep my camera away from scratches. However, I still can see the cover while I redirect my video to the bottom of the camera. Is there any explanation? Hope you can help me.
One question, when I put it in dove case mode, I’m not able to start recording, if I click on Q bottom It doesn’t start to record, it only opens me the quick menu . Any advice? 😅
Hello, i found out. You must upgrade your camera manualy. I had v 1.0.69 (or something like that 😁) and u must upgrade to 1.0.80 with your PC - connect camera with original USB C cable and just drag directly new firmware to camera folder. The just disconnect camera and turn it on and camera should automatically start updating. Then go to settings, click on dive case mode and it will ask you if you have 2022 or 2023 dive case.
I think tonight's the night I'm going to buy the X3 Dive Bundle! One thing I'm worried about is that the selfie stick doesn't have any wristlet, in case I let go of it while diving. I wonder if there is an alternative or an add-on for that.
Oh and you need to know that the friction based selfie sticks from insta360 do not withstand salt water, ut can hurt the internals of the friction-"mechanism" in the stick itself. The 270pro selfie stick has a screw at the bottom to open it, so you can run clear water through it to clean off the saltwater
I use the regular Insta360 selfie stick. The main thing to be cautious of is to avoid opening the extensions if there is any sand in the water. The sand gets in between the extensions and can easily ruin the pole. If you rinse the camera well after use and stay away from sandy water, it should be fine.
I just bought x3 with the invincible dive case, but I still confused, how u record and stop underwater? Or u pre record before put inside the dive case? And open the dive case to stop record? Or using voice command?
Have you checked to make sure the app is updated and that the Invisible Dive Case stitching is being applied, not the original dive case? That makes a big difference.
I would definitely recommend removing them to get the best image quality possible. Since the lenses will be protected in the dive case, less layers between the lens and your subject is always better.
Jordan, I just received my new dive case and I'm excited to try it out. I need help, when i push the Q button, my x3 just changes between different programs. How do I assign this button to start and stop recording? Thank you for your help.
Hi Erica, No worries! You need to put it in Dive Case Mode first. I show how to do it in the first tip in this video. Swipe Down from the top of the touch screen and then tap the Dive Case icon. After you do that, you can use the Q Button to start and stop recording, and you can still use the Power Button to turn the camera on and off. Have fun out there!
Hi, That glare can definitely happen really easily. You have to work with it to avoid the glare. If you watch the tip in this video where I talk about avoiding it, I found that if you rotate the housing at an angle, it will reduce the glare. I was also really disappointed the first time I used it because the glare was in almost every shot. But once you figure out how to angle it, you can easily avoid it. I hope that helps and have fun out there!
Is it just me or does this new dive case doesn’t seem as clear as the first 1? Not blurry but more….fuzzy or something, something seems different in the quality from this new dive case compared to the original 1 (the 1 with the black rubber around it). But I’ll probably still get it just going to give it some time before I get it though.
Can anyone tell me, why they even have implemented the GoPro mount? It's just plain stupid to introduce a possibility to angle the selfie stick that you are never ever going to use...🤣 Otherwise an absolute ingenious peace of kit, exactly what I was waiting for since I bought the case for the OneX.
That is a great point you have! Not sure why they didn't just design a tripod mount at the bottom. Nevertheless, it's a great accessory, and just like you, I have been hoping for this case for a LONG time!
@@JordanHetrick I take it as an oversight, because the earlier versions in fact needed that feature to counter the nadir problem. As there have been solutions for the OneRS in 360 mode to get perfect straight tripod setups it might also help with the dive case until they figure out that a quarter inch thread might be the better mount for the new dive case...especially when the kit is providing not one, but two sticks featuring quarter inch screw...😉
I think its a pretty crappy move on the part of Insta to release a direct replacement for the old case, addressing flaws which should not have even been present in the old case, whilst offering no kind of trade-in incentive for those of us stuck with the old one. Waste of money, waste of plastic, and just kinda shows contempt for consumers.
