Can we take a minute to simply appreciate the quality of Adrian’s videos?! Usually watch RU-vid content from my phone but a B&J upload always gets streamed to the big screen.. 👏🏻👏🏻
I worked on Tornado GR4's for 15 years mate. That oil change is pretty simple. I dont think ive recovered since they were retired if im honest. Opening to this video properly made me smile mate. Great content as ever.
I too have a limited edition Big Pilot (200) and 3 other IWC’s and just like their brand in general. I’m fact I know I’m going to buy the green dial Chrono too when I get to Vegas in November for their private client event. Ill tell you what I really liked about the piece you reviewed and it’s the changes in the hands. Just a little thing but it’s one reason why we’re all watch junkies… there’s something in every piece that makes us have to have something. Nice work Adrian…loved it.
I’ve heard a ‘mike drop’ before… now we have a ‘light drop’. Thanks for keeping it in - love the dry humour. Keep the good work up. Thanks for another excellent video.
Great video thank you! A cool IWC pilot with a twist. Nice finishing by machine and the black rotor is a welcome touch. Technically an excellent watch! Definitely appeals to a collector with the exclusivity.
Got to admit I haven’t watched or read a single thing from Hodinkee! But the Collective have sure come up with a stylish design! Probably the more subdued it is the worse it is for use in the military hahaha! I need to start getting into IWC!
Really like that.... have always been a fan of the IWC pilot and those subtle changes really add rather than take away from the watch...Nice thanks Ade.
Desperate for the backstory of how this happened. How did they get IWC on board? Is this a signal that top brands are looking for new ways to engage and activate the community? Inquiring minds want to know, Adrian!
Great combination of colors, German date wheel, and display back….everything that was lacking on the similar 41mm Spitfire model. Love it, but not enough to apply for a club.
27 people have disliked this video? It must have been the LED light falling, such sensitive souls. I fucking love this watch and I agree that the toning down of the dial works so well.
Nice watch. I like the blue version and the funky green now at more wearable sizing than previous although they still have the same wingspan so they wear large and chubby. Still, a cool masculine piece with a great movement view and quite affordable compared with others out there. They fly under the radar too so less chance of the wrong kind of attention when out and about. IWC are getting their act together and generally downsizing a bit like Breitling.
I really like it, though it feels like a very coordinated and timed marketing push so it’s hard to buy unseen. When there’s this much marketing, it’s easy to impulse buy something rather than fall in love, and I guess that’s the issue with all limited editions today. The market is so hot, you can’t view a $7000+ watch in person first, otherwise you won’t get it. All that said I’m happy they have events in certain cities and hope that helps people who live there to see it! Great video!
That is a beautiful watches You probably want to be able to buy one !! Be lovely to walk into a shop and get the watch you want ! Thank you Adrian for your videos
Still don’t get why every watch featured in this channel looks very desirable. Even the ones I never thought I would be interested in. This is how you influence people. Bravo Adrian.
I'm slowly starting to get into IWCs, used to overlook them as Flieger watches and Chronos are not "my type" of watch but these are really good looking!
Love the Chrono, had on the amg iwc Event the green Version on my wrist. Like it. Quite a lot. Cheers mate, gorgeous B-Roll and review of an beautiful piece, like that monochrome look.
Such a handsome watch. What is the lug to lug distance? Have seen the chrono 41mm being said to measure from 50mm to 52mm depending on who provides the info.
The oil deposit is between the high-pressure compressor and the combustor chamber, close to the fuel nozzle nut, pin & strator, I had to service mine last week 😎.
I like it, though you could get a standard watch for a good bit less and get it modified by a good watchmaker. Perfect for wearing to the “Eclipse” nightclub...
Very nice. Love the lower contrast with gray. NATO strap question: with such a particular thickness watch, would you be okay with a NATO strap on it, even if single-pass? I think from most angles it would look kick ass on a B&J grey NATO. But, looking down the flanks of the watch, do you think it would lift watch off wrist too much given its thickness? Or, would u be most inclined to keep this on a 2-piece strap of some sort?
Just love these videos! As to the watch - I like the exhibition case back and black rotor but otherwise not particularly enthused - though I like the fact they keep their branding off the watch face, that would put me off if I was interested in getting one.
Is that correct that despite being rated for 100m WR, that pressing the chrono pushers while in water will allow water in? I always assumed that the WR rating accounted for that.
@@philthyphil6662 I think you are right. I did some reading today and it sounds like WR rating generally does NOT cover the chrono operation. I guess that is why certain watches have screw down chrono pushers. You learn something new everyday.
Can I ask a stupid newbie question about chronos? In this video the large seconds hand is moving round the watch dial (like a normal three hander) but is this just because Adrian has set off the chrono function? Generally would the large seconds hand be static?
ha. I have the new Seiko field watch and I see some similarities with the IWC. Both are thick, have brushed metal numerals. same brushed case, and the blackish grayish dial. Seiko didn't polish the bezel though.. That would have been nice.
Personally I’ve just never got IWC but can appreciate what they do. Not sure why you would want to make what is meant to be, a legible watch, more difficult to read though? Was it just to try and do something different?
I had the same question. I always assumed the water resistance rating accounted for basic functions of the watch, including the chrono, but maybe that was a bad assumption.
Beautiful watch I think they've done a cracking job with it and I love IWC watches. But do we have to join the collective I've heard that resistance is futile
Its nice to see something other than Rolex, Omega and collection in between. I thought this was a new watch by IWC and had me intrigued (usually I am not) but then I am totally against closed clubs and partnerships to sell limited editiona SKUs to select few. There's too much scarcity as is and there's no need to create more.
