The Talonflame is Zackray, who is not only one of the top Unite players in Japan and maybe the world, but he was also ranked as a top 10 Smash Ultimate player too, and he’s only 18 or 19 (I think). Every game he touches he becomes amazing at it seems.

@@rasui80 both aren't hard to get into. Smash is a lot more technical and in unite, it's not hard to do consistently good if your team is good

I loved that play after Zap in the first game! Cinder and Lucario went back to defend the counter score and then got teleported in to still dunk their points!!

That happened to me in the first 5 stack I’d ever played in rank. I was Gengar and was distracting their entire team at bottom path at the 2 ministers mark while my team was ripping Zap. The Lucario must’ve noticed just in time and did his thing. So lucky!!!

Those things that happens once in a billion. I give up on Lucario but 2 of those 100 managed to steal one Rotom and Zap with the unite from a considerable distance. Edit:freaking typos.

Something important to notice, when a Pokemon secures an Objective these Japanese casters switch the camera to focus that player for a few seconds. This reduces confusion, highlights the players, and gives the audience time to read their name. Obviously you can only do that if you are controlling the spectate camera, but if you can, I think there is a lot of value in doing this.

At 29:28 it was an unfortunate case of autotarget I guess what Dragonite wanted to do was attempt and secure with its Unite move (because their health was low and they wanted a shield is my guess), but because Ninetales came to the fight at half health, it snapped towards where Ninetales was It do be like that sometimes

As fun as this was, the lack of Pick/Ban strongly hamstrings the strategical depth, nuance and diversity of the game. Seeing the same exact comps 4 games in a row is really rough. Also mirror matches are kinda boring. The Ninetails/Hoopa would've been banned in game 2 and onwards, lol.

@@theadmiral4157 Not really complaining as it has no bearing on me, just criticizing. It's valid criticism regardless of whether there are 12 or 120 Pokémon given that there's sanctioned competitive play.

I am so happy to see my Alolan Ninetails in the meta again. I main her when I started climbing the ranks even before the buff. But then I switched to Lucario since it's very difficult to carry using A-nine pre-buff. Now in the masters I often switch to Ninetails or Hoopa depending on what my team needs. :D

Hoopa running xattack is what I usually run, except my items are mainly focused for attacking in unbound but its good for early game aswell mainly for pushing goals when you get that trick shadowball up and you have two reliable teammates to back you up

I wonder if the 18:37 steal was a practiced strategy. It looks like purple greedent was hanging out around rotom to coordinate the timing of the steal. After confirming the steal, that's when greedent returned to base.

Hey this is something that’s been on my mind for a while ever since I watched an Austin John Plays video about Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. So oranges and grapes seem to be very heavy motifs for the game….and with Unite’s colors being Orange & Purple….what do you think the likelihood we get a Gen 9 starter as a Pokémon in Unite soon? Maybe to coincide with the release of Scarlwt & Violet later this year.

Score comp definitely dominated most of the Aeos Cup not only just in Japan but also in Korea. In the end teamfight comp did prevail in the grand finals in Japan’s Aeos Cup but you can feel the difference and strength in score comp……it is not going away and we’re gonna have to find ways to either adapt to the strategy or blend in with it!

That period in second game where the top lane is completely absent of mons from both team, just emphasize how worthless top lane is from early to mid game, except for stacking. This map needs a huge rework

I think the cinder comp would struggle into team fight comps due to the lack of a tank. Any proper engage on them would make them go pop. Seems specifically designed to play against the scoring comps.

I think sharing jungle should be encouraged. Get bodies into the lane quicker and early push / stack ect. I hope the meta changes.

It's not really new tho, the laning is a counter that's most used against score comps, the objective is to defend top goal and make sure it doesn't break early by having the aoe attacker like ninetails and pikachu go top instead of lucario who can't really defend a goal

As an aspiring Lucario main, I am personally interested in how much Muscle Band makes a difference. I have tried it before and I never felt like it made a huge difference. It has always felt like the 4th item that Lucario wants. Though neither of these teams played Buddy Barrier on Lucario. So I could be overvaluing Buddy Barrier on Lucario. Though admittedly, this match has me excited to give Bone Rush a chance again. Exciting stuff!

On solo q buddy barrier is so much more valuable because there is always the chance that no one or there's only one or two buddy barriers on your team, and the other team could have the whole opposite lineup running buddy barrier. Most games end with a huge teamfight at zap, so you need all the shields you can get On coordinated teams like this it's less important because players can communicate when to unite in order to maximize the barriers they have access to

Team fights in this game have become better since the Nerf of buddy barrier and score shield. Feels like the game has truly become a moba game and you won't get annoyed of score comps anymore

I've been shooting at the opposite lane for a bit of xp at the very start and try to shoot at jungle first pokemon if they come the same way I'm going just for that bit of boost before I get to the middle of whatever lane I've chosen.

Nice meta wish more players would use the tactics but the game always makes players go where they should go from start if only they added a choice of strategy or tactics we could edit in the settings for matchmaking. It would be just like soccer when you choose a strategy before the match begins.

People take these Japan meta and try to use them in solo ques like it’s the same as running with a stacked team.. solo Que you need to adjust adapt to people and what they do it’s also a snowball race to try and snowball out of control to carry your team 90% of the time…
