We had a customer bring us a car, which was a four year old new shape Jimny, JB74.
It had undergone a full underbody treatment pretty much from new, and the owner was concerned about the amount of rust on the chassis, frame, and generally the underbody parts which were starting to look a little worse for wear, on such a new car.
We removed the bumpers, gave it a thorough inspection, and were quite surprised at the level of rust starting to show.
All underbody parts were cleaned up and treated with Dinitrol rust converter, followed by Dinitrol underbody protection.
It was a spur of the moment to document the process, and we're glad we did, as it shows two things.
1 - If you're going to have an underbody treatment, be very clear exactly what is and isn't going to be treated, and wheat will and will not be removed (the bumper removal is essential)
2 - There are many parts under the car, which will start to show signs of rust, in a very short space of time.
Be proactive- be thorough!!
