Love mine! Matched it to a KastKing Brutus 6'6" Med casting rod & after just a few times out I have the feeling it will be the 1 I grab 1st & most often. I like the simplicity & extra line protection when bank fishing spincast reels offer. KastKing has yet another winner in their lineup.
Like I said was gonna give an honest review , once have some time using this .Here it is ... I mostly bass fish , don't care for spinning reels , so use spin casters for the light stuff . This is mostly skipping wacky worms under docks , unweighted texas rigs , 1/16 ounce and lighter jig , balsa minnows . First let me say , this reel cast amazingly , first couple cast were much longer then expected . I have brought in some really nice fish and the drag also surprised me . So far every thing has been nothing but smooth .. I mostly palm my reels when fishing , so the one con I see is a design flaw for this style . The screw assembly for switching the handle from right to left is rough and tends to rub my hand while reeling making it uncomfortable . I will figure out (rig ) someway to cover this and see how it goes from there . I do like this reel other wise would bother trying that .. So will give it 4 1/2 stars would be 5 except for that .
How is the cranking power when reeling in a fish? Thinking about getting my dad one and he is real picky on reels. I've bought him reels in the past that he complains it has no power when retrieving the fish. He catches hybrid and white bass mostly.
Spincasts are great if you actualy want to fish that day and not spend your time unraveling birdsnest lines and random bs getting tangled up. Also... I have this reel and its great. This one is on my travelling rod and goes everywhere I go and can handle a wide range of fish.
If kastking can come up with a great large size conventional reel with 50lb of drag which would be way more and even way overkill drag setting for trolling or for things like tuna/sword fish, I would be shocked, but with that said if it can stand up to the pressure, competition, and have great durability I believe it would replace most used reels, but I’m loving the diversity of the company and the quality (Yes I’m pushing for them to do large game fish reels 😏)
Gonna be hard pressed to beat the (zebco) prostaff 20/20 and 20/10 , best I've ever used and no one knows about them . Use em for casting / skipping weightless wackys and other light lures ..Gonna order one and believe me it will be put to the test and an honest review will be up coming
I just ordered this reel just as a little upgrade for my rod and the open faced also nice to have options it's the kast king sharky lll 2000 series and this brutus reel I am new to the fishing world I caught my first fish on my first fishing trip 😂😂😂 and told myself yup I truly had a great time it's time to start getting some fishing gear together and cant wait to get back out there with my new reels and I'll be putting the brutus on a 5'6 ugly stick that matches the reel exact that's the small river combo set up I'll be using and the open face for the lakes I'm out in Albuquerque n.m. I usually do rivers and smaller lakes pecos..jemez...red river..san juan cant wait for mine to come inn....
There's a market for large heavier duty spin cast reels, look how many Zebco 808 & 888 reels are sold everyday. KastKing needs to design one with 25lbs of drag , uses 30lb mono & has a steel foot . If they'd actually do that they'd sell a ton
Hate when people always classify spincast reels as kids or beginners. Can't you just say "Spincast fishing reels are a great way to easily get started fishing today without hassles. Spincaster reels allow anglers of any age and experience level to have a great experience, even if it’s their first time on the water."
I agree. I use all kinds of reels, I'm not a beginner. I like the benefits of spincast reels. I just ordered a Brutus and if it's half as good as Bullett I'll be happy.
Going to Canada to do some fishing. Would this reel be alright for Pike fishing? Don't want to be really disappointed if I buy one and it ruins a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you. Ps you can give me some advice if you want.
I just got my reel in and the first thing I noticed was when you turn the handle on the reel the other side spins too which will annoying if you cup the reel with your hand like you do with a baitcaster, my zebco bullet and omega pro don't, because I like to cup my reel because it sticks out it's not flush with the reel and has gear teeth so you can grip, I'm going try and find away to fix it, other than that its well built and it cast good
Open up the freaking back. I want to see the gearing. Hopefully this real will evolve. Roller bering pickups, stronger gears, stronger drag, faster gear ratio. The fact that it's made in China bothers me but there's nothing I can do about that. Add so e of the afore mentioned improvements and the reel will sell itself.
#kastkingbrutus a great reel take me back to when I bought my first spincast reel love the color and shape. Dropping phone in the water after the fish tail splash water on her.
You could use braid if you wanted to but we dont recommend it. For more info about the IPT please contact customer service service@kastking .com Thank you!
Is it possible to switch out spools on this model? (I.e., have two spools loaded with different line and swap them in and out, as with an open-faced reel?) Thanks.
It may give the original zebco 33 a run for its money. I bought one and the design seems pretty flawless. Only time will tell. But every reel I've bought from kk has been awesome and work extremely well after a year or 2 of abuse.
The zebco OMEGA z03 Pro at $80 is truly an incredible reel, 7 ball bearings and has never let me down, I own 4 of them, but will give this reel a chance soon👍
I am trying to buy one of these made in the USA, nobody has any, but on ebay there are several dealers with them, but there all in china, go figure, how does that happen where can I buy one in the USA. Bass pro, cabalas, Walmart, Scheels nobody has them
Haha. Bet that phone will never be seen again. #kastkingbrutus. I've been using kk products for 3 yrs now and I wouldnt buy anything else. They proven their selves time after time for me and I'm perfectly happy with them.
@@KastKing look up the omega zebco and bullet or even the zebco platinum do i need to say more they will out last this by years with there full metal bodys you can beg to differ all you want zebco is king
