I chose Sportage... picked mine on 8th July and I'm simply loving it. Very different exterior and amazing interior. Very confortable and lots of space inside. Mine is petrol because the mhev and the phev were too expensive to me. It's manual and I love driving it. 😊
A comprehensive review of a car my daughter will be test driving tomorrow but by the 12th minute I was COMPLETELY lost in technospeak and gave up trying to understand what all the gobbledegook means...but then I'm old, still have trouble trying to make sense of decimalisation and drive an old fashioned manual 1.5 diesel Peugeot Partner that's nine years old and still running like a dream !
Clear with a concise & comprehensive balance and none of the usual singing of words by younger reviewers that I found refreshing. I have a top spec HEV auto AWD. I am looking for a good summary of the infotainment system. Any skiffies (hints) welcome. Some people are complaining about the length. It's all right if you have chosen your very own 1 of 50 versions, then you might want one video for 20 mins on your exact car. I think this 70 min compromise is well worth it. I don't know how you kept it down to that length given the amount of choices available.

Taking aside the extremely detailed information about the car, the narrative style of the presenter is very very engaging, particularly as he is discussing the subject of dry as car specs. I agree with one of the previous commenters. I can’t understand why this channel hasn’t got many many more views and many many more followers.

It would be nice to see this UK spec version offered in the US. This shorter version is more attractive than the USDM version, although I do have to admit that the smaller cargo area could be a hard sell.
@OSV I've got the same model as you drove on order (MHEV). What mpg were you achieving and how were you driving (most of your footage looked like it was efficient cruising). Also how did you find the DCT box? I'm happy with my Golf DCT, but have heard this DCT is very hesitant when setting off. Unfortunately I all the dealerships I contacted only had Full hybrid demonstrators.
Great review. My GTLine-S HEV is being delivered at the end of the month after 7 months on order. Not being rude here, but having someone of shorter stature reviewing does make the car look a lot bigger, not that it’s a small car.
Is anyone familiar with gpf regeneration problems on 1.6 tgdi engines? It seems those alarms are appearing on low milages already and very often if the car is driven mostly on short trips.
What does Gpf stand for? I have just had an issue with mine after only 3 weeks and have only been doing short trips? It would not go into drive and then refused to switch off then came up with multiple warnings and that the battery would be discharged? I had to press the 12 battery button a few times to reset it and finally get it going. Tried to book in at 2 different Manchester Kia dealers and the earliest appointments are in 3 weeks time! I'm extremely nervous about driving it now and if there are any issues looks like I could be without a car for about a month... Buyers regret 😢
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply Im not shopping the compact SUV sector personally. New cars I like at the moment are the GR-yaris and the Alfa saloon with the fancy diff.
Perhaps im being silly or stupid. But, is it possible to give boot space in cubic feet as well as litres? Im 79 and was raised on Imperial measurements . In the 60s. Around 15 cubic feet was the average size of car boots.
I'm surprised that no-one says anything about the recall and dozens of Sportage GT LINE S equipped with the 1.6 CRDI MILD HYBRID siting at the dealerships for months due to blow up engines due to tensioner failures.🤔

Other than price with warranties, never understood the Kia & Kia Sportage appeal. Quality, reliability and interconnectivity along with Safety rating is always a worthy tick box guide, as family are not replaceable, money is. Personally, German models tick my guide.
The KIA will be a lot more reliable than any German brand as recorded by reliability surveys and will be just as safe as any German rival. Sadly German brands are not the well engineered cars they once were and brands like KIA that used to be cheap and nasty have caught up and in many ways overtaken VW/BMW/Mercedes Benz when it comes to reliability and customer service and safety. What has been said is not my opinion but facts obtained from car experts.

Having owned several Mercedes, the new Sportage has better quality interiors than the B class (plastic and cheap) and is equal to GLA and C Class. I've had two german cars out of the last three that required warranty repairs within the first year (broken suspension, corroding wheels and 4 coils that went and would only be repaired one after another). My first Audi only lasted 3 months before having to be replaced for new under warranty. German cars are no more reliable nor safer. And most smart youtubers would tell you to never touch a second hand BMW. Which gets us on to price. I looked at the new GLB before plumping for the Sportage. Having to fork out three grand to get Apple Car Play is just silly. My last car was the Tiguan 1.4 4Motion Auto. Quietest car I've had (much better than the Mercs) and best safety features. The Sportage has more road noise and less room (more comparable to the GLA), but with Hybrid, has far better slow speed gear changes and pumps out and extra 10mpg fuel saving around town (more equal on combined trips as the VW 1.4 appears to be more fuel efficient than the KIA 1.6 when not able to use hybrid). That being said, the Sportage really feels like a premium car inside.
