Still rocking V2 for almost 2 yrs. The pros definitely it small, A2/A3 battery powered which is good for lifespan, BT connection as travel mouse for my laptop and easy teardown for resoldering new switches without taking off the mouse skates. The cons it can't go wired mode.
I love egg shaped mice. I used a Logitech M90 office mouse all throughout highschool and now I daily drive a G305 and Ive wanted something new for a long time
This mouse has since been updated again at least on AliExpress. There is a 46g version and a 51g version. Major differences is battery sizes 46g has 200mah, and 51g has 500mah. They are only around 30 bucks
I’m a an Orichi V2 user, and this is literally the best thing that could’ve been released. It’s a higher quality, lighter and rechargeable version of the Orichi V2 that costs £40. I’m a strictly fingertip grip user, and I have to have a small back mouse like this
does it fill your palm pretty well? how are the stock skates to you? that's one of the probs with these cheaper mice is they often come with really bad skates so you end up buying a set and turns out to cost what you would pay for a mid-tier brand mouse with decent skates
@@RideTheSkies to be honest I disn’t change the skates. I guess the superior glide and quality of the mousepad kinda compensates for the lack of quality of the skates. Regarding how much it fills my palm, it does not. Back of the mouse touches the base of my hand, and then is mostly fingertip movement. I’ve been hitting some impressive shots on cs:go, really happy with it.
@@bosiorne2292 sensor wise, no complaints at all. Quality wise, it’s the best I’ve had, but I can’t really complaint there as well. It is still my main and it is next to quite expensive gaming mice on my desk. So far, so good. Let’s see if will last :)
They are supposed to be coming out with their own Dongle soon. I did buy a few extra VGN 4K dongles, so I might try pairing one of my Z1 Pro to a VGN dongle and see if it works. There also is the Rapoo 4K dongle that might also pair with it.
same. I was searching for my dream mouse for a while and when the Razer Orochi review came out, I got it and realized egg shapes were the wave for me. I loved my Orochi, but my only real complaint was I wished it was bigger. Got the Aria and fell in love. It was the perfect size for me and was just better than the Orochi in multiple other facets, and is my gamer right now. I would love to get the Z1 Pro with all the advantages it appears to have but I think the size will be the deal breaker. I will wait for Aria 2.0, and hope it is able to move itself closer to the weight and improvements that the Z1 Pro looks to provide.
@@DukeofHearl Fantech also put in the new huano switches in the aria xd7, I was able to pick one up for $60 with free shipping. I've never tried the orochi though so I'm hoping the aria isn't too big, if so then I'll probably return it and try the Z1 Pro
@@elegantpower I personally wouldn't say it is too big. It is no bigger than most of the gaming mice I have tried in the medium category in length. Maybe a little wider, but not in a way that feels awful. Feels perfect for my hands and I would not say I have large hands. However, it's all personal preference. Certainly though, this video shows that if it is the wrong size for you, the Z1 Pro will be that much better, and likely the size for which you are looking.
this channel and the mouse scene for some reason tend to favor smaller mice... I have hands that can't quite grip a full size basketball but is almost there and the wireless I got was a mistake (pulsar v2 mini) and waste of money for me even if it is considered a good mouse. really wish I could feel these popular internet mice before I buy them 😂
Just got an Aria. Egg shape mice gives your palm some needed rest specially if you're working for long hours. Z1 pro must be dope too. I'll just buy it as a sub to my Aria if it fails one day.
went from a g305 to a pwnage symm 2 last year, while i appreciate the lower weight of the pwnage compared to the g305, my aim wasn't as good as using the g305, I'm guessing i lack stability in my aim since i tend to have the back of my palm gripping on the g305 (claw grip) compared to the pwnage which has a very low hump on the back. I'm guessing i'll still have to go back to the egg shape, this might be it for me.
Hi Boardzy, thanks for this review, man - I just received one of these and the migration from the O v2 was great like you said. One question I have - what do you make of the skates? I noticed you have used the included dots that come with the mouse - do you recommend them over the stock feet?
Ngl I forgot that the G302 was a thing. I feel like Razer did the Orochi just to overtake the G302 for portability. I'm pretty sure that they didn't expect how this mouse would be so influenceable.
I use the Razer Orochi v2 as my TRAVEL mouse. I would love to "upgrade" to the Z1, but it has a major flaw for a TRAVEL mouse - there is nowhere to put the 2.4GHz dongle in the mouse. I'd love to get the better sensor/lower weight/higher polling of a new modern mouse of about the same size/shape, but I'm going to have to pass since I'm going to lose the dongle without a place to keep it inside the mouse when not in use. Did I miss this feature on the Z1 from the website and video?
The Z1 pro does not have a dongle holder, but the normal Z1 has one. Up to you if you find it worth going to rechargeable (out the rear of the mouse??) for that
@@MarksterC Thanks for the tip! The Z1 does have the dongle holder, but unfortunately, it has other drawbacks (price, weight, back USB). I'm going to either keep the Razer Orochi v2 or "risk it" and get the Z1 PRO.
I just saw this mouse is coming to MaxGaming soon. And it will have a 500mA Battery. And it is so damn cheap. It will be 60 euro and the specs is insane for that price
Even if this isnt as easily obtainable the orochi is still obsolete imo cause the Aria exist. What are your thoughts on premium black version of the X2 btw?
Coming from a Viper Mini to the Zaopin which is my first ever wireless mouse. I feel like my aim got back to square 1, I feel like a total newbie in Valorant with this mouse most likely cause Im not used to its shape yet. Any tips? I have better game sense, movement and aim with my viper mini and none of it on my zaopin :(
G305 is too heavy (will they ever make a superlight version??), and the razer orochi is suuuuper small (using a battery is also bullshit lol). Came here for alternatives! thanks.
Why do people insist on changing the definition of words or phrases? Especially to fit with whatever misuse has become popular. For as long as I've been aware of or discussing gaming mice the "egg shape" ALWAYS referred to Logitech's classic shape. Like the G1/MX300/G3 maybe even the M100. Why would you suddenly exclude the G305 and it's shape from the "egg" category? It's biggest detraction from the classic shape is the sides not being flat. Is it because it's not a popular or "hype" mouse, now? That's how it seems. Pretty unfortunate, as It's a comparison that would've been of benefit for anyone looking for switch from the G305, and if we're talking egg shapes then Logitech has to be in the conversation as they pioneered and invented the shape ages ago, everything since is a poor imitation, even their own attempts.
the egg shape is not too much different from viper mini? i want to buy this mouse so much but I'm afraid i won't adapt (i use relaxed claw grip on RVM)
this one is completely out of stock, you need to overpay for a used one, that's how i got mine, the second batch is perfect no issue at all, i am pretty satisfied with it.
Boardzy, I'm still using the g305. And i like the eggshape form factor. Which one out of the Aria and Zao would you recommend for me? I use fingertip grip. I mainly play fps games, so latency also matters.
always out of stock + scalpers buying all the stocks and reselling them for more than double the price on chinese websites just buy an other budget 4k mouse there are some in the same website you can find that one
It would be great if only mechkeys didn't scam me. They held my order for ~2 months and continuously didn't ship it and kept lying that it will be shipped within few days while I ordered it when it was "on stock". Sick.
My current main is 85g (I never cared about weight at the time of purchase) and if I had to choose between the 3 I might skip the Chinese mouse since I don’t feel ready to drop down to 43g and want to ease myself into the lighter weight with a 60g mouse before going down further (and of course there’s the click quality issues). Out of the 3, I’d go to the Aria to avoid any click quality issues that are present in the Orochi and Chinese mouse, and I wouldn’t mind paying up to $90 for a SERIOUS entry into mouse enthusiasm (I draw a hard line at $150 for an entry). Edit: bruh did not expect this comment to get replies
This seems like a very weird take. The lighter the better IF the mouse is otherwise good. I went from 100g+ to a Superlight and I would love it if it was even lighter. There are no cons for smaller weight, you get used to it VERY fast.
@@kennaee When I first tried using a HyperX Pulsefire Haste or whatever that was on display in Best Buy, I noticed that it was unnaturally light (I, of course, was used to heavier mice), which probably drove me away from hopping down too many grams. Maybe I was worrying too much.
