they could easily do another one of these sets too since he has a lot of loose "trilogies", another being The Golden Heart trilogy: Breaking the Waves, The Idiots, and Dancer in the Dark, his unfinished America Trilogy: Dogville, Manderlay and what I've seen called The Depression Trilogy: Antichrist, Melancholia, and Nymphomaniac (counted as one like Kill Bill)
I said in the last video that I want more Danish films in the criterion collection, didn’t think it would be a box set. But I so happy for it and Baron Munchausen is a childhood favorite for me. This could be the best criterion year I would say!
I had thought This is Not a Burial It’s a Resurrection sounded familiar, and turns out it had been reviewed by a few people I really like and it’s apparently fantastic. Really excited to check it out after hearing about it. But still no Inland Empire, me sad
Bro I’ve told you before but I’ll remind you again: if you keep putting a red line on the bottom of your videos, it looks like we’ve already viewed the video and we won’t click on it… What are you even doing.
Criterion is really running out of good old films to publish… Mubi and others have much better films recently. I feel bad for people sledging through old films Criterion are trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get rights to and release. Spend 10 min on Mubi and you’ll be blown away with the quality of the films there. It’s a shame Criterion hasn’t gotten their act together and scooped up the rights to a lot of modern cinema.
