You are the queen of the top reviews!!! The original LM blush formula is one of my favourites but I can’t pull off glowy on my cheeks unfortunately…..but as always you look fabulous!!!! Love the ponytail!!
I spent the long weekend decluttering and organizing my makeup (and also cooking, eating, and drinking-but that’s another story for another day). Let’s just say that it appears I did NOTHING. What the heck!! How much more do I need to work in order for me to notice a change??!! I need more wine, clearly. 😎🍷🤓
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I would LOVE to!!! I would have a couple of glasses and a delightful conversation with my partner in crime!! I have to work by myself around here. Not cool!!! 🤗🤗🥰🥰💖
Thanks for reviewing LM. Most people ignore the brand but I feel like it can have some under rated products like their blushes. Its exactly like Bobbi Brown gets snoozed on as well (though I have been curious about their new shimmer cream shadow sticks and new luxe shadows). Some brands that are ‘classic’ just don’t seem to get the reviews like the attention Hog’s of CT, PMG and ND. I was wondering about these but I am not sure if I need a blush topper for now.
Hello Amber! I agree. The tried and true brands get passed up for the new new new and they deserve the attention, too! YES. hahaha. The royal trio of CT, PMG and ND. So true. hahah.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty it’s why I love your channel Rebecca - you give a variety of reviews including brands that often get overlooked on RU-vid. But there is a market for them otherwise brands like Mac, Too Faced, Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder, LM etc etc wouldn’t survive and us who like them much appreciate you!
I agree with you too... I have the LM secret camouflage but those BB eye shadow cream sticks are the best! I keep trying others but I keep coming back to BBs eye sticks 🥰
I agree with the community here - a bit light on pigment tbh, but as a highlighter to pair with a peach or pink blusher they look good 👍 All your swatches look so much better in that warm California sunshine Rebecca 😎
I am not entirely sure why they called this a blush. And that’s the failure here. If they just called them all different highlighters we would love them.
I absolutely love Laura Mericier matte blushes, have grapefruit and Chai, think I'll pass on these glowy ones and pick up another shade of the matte blush, got my eye on Ginger. Thank you for the quick review Rebecca ❤️
Hi lovely Rebecca !! Love the ponytail 🥰 great review as always hit on the press , these blushes look really nice 👍 I do like some glow on my face but I think the highlight is lovely but too much for me 🤗💕
Great video as always, and don’t be surprised if she does come out with cream bronzer everyone else has 😂, and if you ever decide to declutter I’m here lol, btw loving the ponytail
Very pretty! I used to love her brand but it doesn’t seem to catch my eye as much these days. I know her powder is beloved and it is one my favorites. I also used to love her body collection but she hasn’t released new scents in well over a decade or more. Her body products are luxurious and have that gourmand fragrance, which is so divine. Her honey bath simply exquisite ❤️ I checked out her website after watching your video and it just screams boring 🤦🏾♀️ Her focus is on those caviar sticks and her iconic loose powder. She is a makeup artist, so I’d expect a bit more. I would love to see her come out with a bomb release but this isn’t it, unfortunately. I’m thinking what is her vibe. You know other makeup artists have a vibe and I’m not sure what direction Laura is going. A bronzer would be a great idea!! She has always had a soft, feminine French countryside vibe to her brand and she should capitalize on that instead of whatever this is. She needs a good foundation, maybe something natural but long-wearing and a small eye palette along with an amazing mascara! Also expand the bath collection. Her bath products are pricey yet I have no qualms with paying $70 for her bath products. She needs new scents AND bring back the glass bottles!!! You know with all the focus on self/care, I’m surprised she didn’t focus on her bath products. There you go, Laura Mercier, make it happen 🤣 Rebecca and I just injected some life into your brand. Now you do a lot of reviews on products I didn’t even know were coming to market, which is great! Are you following trendmood or something else to find out what’s coming to market?
Hey there, Tracie! I have felt blasphemous many times on this channel pronouncing that Laura Mercier is, indeed, boring. Not just those caviar sticks but all the different tinted moisturizers. And I realize those are the laurels that she rests on but they’re not that interesting. I reach for other tinted moisturizers first. And, like I said, I feel like it’s some sort of blaspheme to say that but the stuff isn’t interesting. Caviar sticks and things like that don’t interest me. I didn’t even like the Charlotte Tilbury sticks in the latest make up and go, or whatever that was called, release. It’s just not my thing. I don’t know why they are so boring. I think the word almost is staid. They need to move younger. They are skewing too old and when they try to reach a little younger it’s a little off. These are very pretty highlighters but they’re not that interesting and they are not blushes. So there’s a lot going on here and it doesn’t seem like something that would be too too hard to fix but they don’t. In fact, I have so many thoughts on all of these brands like urban decay and this brand here and why they don’t fix things. Stila is another one. And I had somebody unofficial from Stila come on in comments on my last Stila video and just say it’s been really hard for them over Covid and I’m sure that’s true but it doesn’t explain why a lot of these companies do not “play the game “and reach out more to influencers and such. They have the audience. perhaps they feel like they would be abandoning their audience? I don’t know but I have so many thoughts on it and I would love to do it here on RU-vid but I don’t think it’s the appropriate venue for it. It’s more of a written piece but it fascinates me. Laura Mercier has the money. She has a built-in audience. It wouldn’t be that hard to expand it. It confuses me. In terms of finding new products, I follow everything and I get every email from every company and I read them all. It takes sometimes an hour or more a day combined, maybe, yeah, more than that. And I put it on my calendars and I mark them and I’m aware when they’re all coming up. I would say it’s probably half the job, believe it or not.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Once again, spot on! These old school brands are indeed resting on their iconic products and name recognition, which is not a formula for success. Aww, those caviar sticks, nope. I have zero interest in those either. I mean, I get the beauty in the go thing but 40 caviar sticks🤦🏾♀️ create a damn palette. She has several versions of her tinted moisturizer and the primer but why? I get improving the product but multiple versions isn’t necessary and no one is buying them, just create something new. All these iconic brands are guilty of this, including UD. They continue to disappoint. What did they just release, a new setting spray with vitamin c, huh? Who asked for that? Create a high quality palette instead of tweaking their famous products. I would love to hear/read your commentary on these brands and how they can fix it. I think Covid is a lame excuse when smaller brands with less funding and less name recognition release new products. As a beauty consumer and a RU-vid viewer, I find I prefer the smaller channels much more than the mega channels, so I wish brands focused on smaller channels. I think and I could be wrong but I know I’m more likely to purchase a product based on recommendation from a smaller youtuber than the mega channels. The smaller channels really feel more like a gal pal who is regular just like us and not a multi millionaire getting many of these products for free. I’m not opposed to brands giving pr, but I’d prefer to see smaller brands recurve it than the bigger ones. I think that reach out would be a bigger boon to these brands.
@@traciewarren1070 Obviously, as a smaller channel, I completely agree with you but people will say that I am biased. Ha ha. That being said, yes, they need to expand their reach and do a little bit of grassroots and I’m not sure that they know how to do that. Not only does Laura Mercier, as you mentioned, have several versions of her tinted moisturizer, she has several versions times five. Each one has an oil free version. Each one has a dewy version, a matte version etc. etc. it becomes silly. They oversaturate their own market and confuse people who then go and buy the one offering from, say, Tarte believe it or not. I think that the industry itself, especially the larger retailers, are the slowest to change perhaps because they have the most to lose? New blood and new ideas are frowned upon. It’s very interesting. Young brands and smaller brands are quicker to move and quicker to react and right now they are the most interesting ones on the market. I am sure it is tempting to get the quick dollar and just do another UD naked palette in the same way that Jurassic Park will keep making sequels and, when a band gets popular, a record label will sign 20 bands similar to that band. I suppose it’s the way the economy is driven. Non-creativity is easy money. But, it seems the brands we are talking about have far surpassed easy money. Their sales have got to be lagging. I can tell you what is selling and what’s not selling simply by how my videos do. The new Natasha Denona skin care primer is not selling well for her. How do I know? My video didn’t do well. Honestly. I’m not bragging at all but viewing numbers are up when people are interested. And brands don’t take creators opinions into their marketing strategies and they kind of should. They need a little bit of new thought and they are very hesitant. Very hesitant.
After deleting five hilariously funny sarcastic replies that you would have enjoyed but they aren’t called for, I will simply say that I agree with you.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty lol. I was looking at the merit blushes and same way. They are really sheer and I’d have to put 12 layers to get to show prob. Lol I could 12 layers of this I prefer maybe 2. Lol
@@veronicamcminn7775 building up with the merit however isn’t a problem because it’s so sheer. Building up with this, you would be able to take your fingernail and write your name in the amount of highlighter on your cheek. I love how I say that I’m not going to end up being rude and then I’m rude.
So glad you reviewed this! I figured these weren’t really blushes and wouldn’t have much color unfortunately. They look beautiful but I wish they were more blushy 😏
Ooo I'd LOVE to do a video like that. I'll put something like that together for sure. Thank you for the suggestion! The mirror is an Amazon cheapy and I put floral wallpaper on the back so you don't have to stare at an ugly mirror back. Haha.
I LOVE Laura mercier but these don’t seem to have enough pigment for me. I think I will stick with their color infusion blushes. I currently have passion fruit and am dying to buy the watermelon shade. I get the blush topper concept. If I ever hit the lottery I’ll consider it. Lol! 💰 🤪
I was disappointed with her latest moisturizing blush tint. Just faded way too quickly. I’m going to pass on this one. Just doesn’t wow me. Thanks for saving me some money and for your, per usual, honest review ❤️
Hello Maria! The moisturizing blush was very pretty but it definitely faded too quickly and these are good highlighters but, unfortunately, they are supposed to be blushes. Money saved for sure.
Love the video! Thank you! I picked up the peach blush, thinking about going back for the pink now. Do you think they’re different enough to justify having both?
These are amazing & no they don't accentuate pores, they make them look smaller & make your skin look smoother, maybe not on you but they def do that on me. Also you are applying the blush all wrong.
How would you compare the Laura Mercier RoseGlow Blush with the fair versions of CT cheek to cheek? (I use the Love glow as a blush topper today..) Thanks for your help!
The main difference, to be honest, is sparkle. While the Charlotte has some luminosity, it is mostly a flat blush. And though it has the center pop, especially first love and such are mostly clearly blush products whereas this Laura Mercier product is more of a highlighter than a blush. Or even a blush topper. And that is where they differ. Charlotte is blush and these particular Laura Mercier are highlighter or blush topper. I hope that that helped clear it up a bit but ask any other questions!
I did tried a famous loose powder they have and was terribly drying on me. That was years ago and I think that made me avoid all of their products. Weird because all brands have hits and misses. Idk 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I don’t blame you, Rosa. They are not a very interesting brand lately. They have their powders, which others love but I agree with you that there are better on the market. They have their tinted moisturizers. But there’s not a whole lot of newness. Generally, they do very well with blushes. Their powder formula is lovely and the moisturizer tinted blush they did recently was also very pretty. These are beautiful as highlighters if you need another powder highlighter but they are not concentrated enough to truly be a blush.
