How low can you go?... Don’t be in “limbo” when you fine grade the surface to prepare for installing your new lawn. The right fine grade preparation should accommodate long term growth and the activity of mowing, sweeping and watering. Be aware that every grass type has a unique optimal growing height, whether it is Marathon™, St. Augustine, Ryeblue, Pureblue or Tifgreen Bermuda! It’s recommended to install sod to the top of the soil level, which should be at least ¼” - ½” BELOW the surface of sidewalks and driveways. Final grade will be lower.
