The new V2 Legacy Ahsoka sabers from Disney are finally available in the parks, so let's take a deep dive into how they stack up against the older version and whether or not they're an improvement. They're $350 in the Disney parks and are not limited edition, so should be pretty easy to find for the foreseeable future.
They were briefly available for pre-order at $320, but those order aren't expected to ship until the end of October or November.

This is the exact in-depth review of the V2 Ahsoka lightsaber review I’ve been waiting for! Missed the previous galaxy’s edge sabers and didn’t want to invest in the 3rd party one so I was hoping the V2’s would be a good middle ground, but I think I’m just gonna go full in on the 3rd party ones! Thanks for the awesome review!

Thanks for the video! Great comparison. Just picked up my pair a few weeks ago when I was in orlando. Definitely one of my favorite lightsaber designs. The curved hilts feel great to hold. Another pair to the collection lol.

Great review and comparison! Very thorough, measurements in all areas, feel and function,!covered everything anyone could want! I think for display, I’m gonna have the non-button side of the shoto front facing just to give it a more elongated look that’s closer to the prop 👌

Thanks for the review. I am waiting on mine since I did the discounted pre-order but I am looking forward to comparing them to my Galaxy's Edge LE's and my Darkwolf pair.

While watching this vid I was comparing everything to my Disney store Ahsoka sabers, which by the looks of it are even more accurate and properly proportioned to the props, maybe they're not metal, but they do look aesthetically better🤯

The toy ones are the same width/depth as the old Legacy ones, just a bit shorter (11"/9.5" vs 13.75"/11") and 1/4 the weight. The new ones are a liyylr over twice as heavy as the toy. Main is 2" longer than the toy and shoto is 1/2" shorter. My very first lightsaber review was a comparison of the toy to the old Legacy. I'm still really impressed with how much value you get for your money with those $65 toy ones! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8i5jEwMsnjw.html

They are in no way properly proportioned at all, the hilts are ridiculously large. Don't waste your money as you can buy a slim hilt neopixel saber for the same price from Imperial Workshop.
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 9 месяцев назад
Imperial Workshop does not offer an Ahsoka Rebels saber at any price. Their Ahsoka Clone Wars starts at $630. Even their cheapest non-character hilts start at $155 each, which would be only $40 cheaper than this set for a pair. The LGT sabers are a good option if you’re not looking for a character hilt. But there are cheaper more reputable resellers than IW. Darkwolf, for example, starts at about $100 for what IW charges $150 for.

Debating on canceling my pre order truthfully. They don’t look at all like I’d hope. As you said, “comically stubby”

Which version(s) are you considering in its place? Or are you skipping Ahsoka for another saber?

@@Fanporium I may just skip them all together quite honestly, for a little while anyway. But I’m unsure if I should cancel it yet or not! Her sabers are in my top 5 but these… they don’t do the sabers justice
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 10 месяцев назад
Well stay tuned over the next few weeks. I'll be going reviews of all the different versions of her sabers that are on the marker. If nothing else, the toy ones for $65 are a nice placeholder while you save for something fancier.

@@Fanporiumso force FX is making one and it looks a thousand times better, I think. No shoto though. Debating on getting it or not considering it’s actual metal and I don’t think these are.
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 9 месяцев назад
@@nemer473 Yeah, the Hasbro one looks nice from what we’ve seen so far. It’s the lack of shoto and the fact that it’s not shipping until October 2024 that will be deal killers for a lot of folks. I can assure you, though, that these Disney ones are indeed metal. They’re aluminum rather than iron, hence the lighter feel.

Thanks for this very in-depth review and comparison. Settled on the KR Thrawn Hunters. Are the efx hilts going to be electronic or just static replicas?
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 10 месяцев назад
eFX are going to be static replicas. No electronics or ability to install them. The KRs are fantastic for a pricey installed option.

Hey does the new shoto saber fit onto the dtando on etsy you mentioned?
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 10 месяцев назад
Yes, the phot at the 0:44 mark is these new ones on that stand. They don't fit all the way into the cradle on the "U" version, which is what I show there. But it still looks great and the curved cradle version of the stand would fit them all the way. I was just being lazy and didn't switch them for the photo.

Great review! Did you preorder your sabers off shop Disney?
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 10 месяцев назад
The pre-orders haven't shipped yet (except in Australia). I had a friend buy this one in Disneyland and mail it to me. I did order the pre-order too, though. Debating whether to cancel it now that I have one already, or keep the order in case someone I know wants them at the lower pre-order price.

Do the blades from these new Ahsoka hilts fit the Ezra legacy hilt? I’m in the U.K. & you can’t buy the blades here unless imported at silly high prices. However the Aksoja hilts are on pre order at £350 so worth it if they also get the Ezra hilt working.
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 8 месяцев назад
No, the blades for this new Ahsoka set are unique and don’t work with any other hilts. Ezra uses the standard Legacy blade. Like you say, those are like 110 imported through Double Box Toys. But you can also get then through Shoo Disney in the Vader, Skywalker, Cal, or Mace bundles. Those are 185-200 but you get another hilt with it too.
@stevefindlater302

@@Fanporiumthanks for getting back to me, I was always lead to believe Ezra’s was the new style blade too! I’ve got Vader so knowing that blade will fit it a bonus 👍🏼

@@stevefindlater302 The Ezra and Ahsoka came out at around the same time, so I can understand where the confusion might have come from. Order 66 Collectibles and Sir James both have great reviews of the Ezra saber, where you can see the display emitter and the blade emitter, and how the blade connects. Enjoy!

I should also add that if you're not already following Order 66 Collectibles, you should be, as he's also in the UK so has your same perspective re availability.

i don't understand why it is so hard for them to match the prop
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 7 месяцев назад
Several reasons. First, they want to have a blade that is easy for normal people to insert and remove. That means a thicker connector module. The prop doesn’t have this issue, as it will only be handled by professionals and they will have multiple separate props for with and without blades. Second, they need to fit sounds and electronics in the toy that they don’t need (or want) in the prop, as sound will be added in post-production. But mostly, it’s because they want to make the consumer version affordable. And you can’t do an accurate prop replica with electronics anywhere near that $350 price point. They do, however, have the licensed prop replica version from EFX Collectibles. That’s $800 for the pair with no electronics. So it’s there as an option for those willing to pay the price. But the cheaper ones are going to outsell the accurate ones by several orders of magnitude.

Why can’t Disney get these sabers right?

These official ones look like horrible cheap chinese knockoffs of the kr saber😂
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 10 месяцев назад
They could very easily get them "right" at twice the price point. The trick is making something that is simple and reliable enough to withstand the mass market, but cheap enough to manufacture that they can hit a reasonable price. Overall, I think they get more right than wrong in striking that balance. But it doesn't stop the misses from still being frustrating.
@KarlSainte
@KarlSainte 10 месяцев назад
It’s just the mass market thing. They have a formula to figure how much they could get away with and still sell a a lot. Especially in the parks, Disney always wants to fight the sticker shock for parents of small kids willing to make a buy. 🤷🏾‍♂️
@quigonlynn1
@quigonlynn1 9 месяцев назад
Jeez these look absolutely awful. It's hilarious that the company who owns the entire franchise is the one making the worse sabers out there. 😂 You can literally buy a neopoxel blade saber with a nice slim hilt for the same price.
@Fanporium
@Fanporium 9 месяцев назад
You’re comparing apples to oranges. The cheapest neopixel Ahsoka Rebels option you can get is are the TXQ or Ultimate Works ones, which are about $650. While they have fancier electronics, they’re almost twice the price. And their quality control would never pass Disney’s standards, where one swallowed retention screw could turn into a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Disney’s Legacy line focuses on character replicas that are inexpensive, easy to use, and unlikely to break. They intentionally don’t focus on high-end electronics, screen-accuracy, or customizability. You can definitely get fancier (but more brittle) electronics from LGT and TXQ resellers. But that is a completely different product line targeting a different type of buyer.
