I watched an Australian reviewing both cars and he said the IS has a sportier character like the steering response and throttle response whereas the ES is more comfort oriented.
Thank You for this video, I have been driving an ES 300H 2021 and just test drove an IS 350. The handling is simply amazing. I know the fuel economy hurts. Still thinking what to do.
It's definitely a smaller car compared to the ES. The ES gives me 720 km on one tank of fuel. The IS felt much smaller, especially in the back seat. There is a fun element in driving the IS plus the 4 wheel drive and love how the engine sounds. The dealership mentioned it would take three months to order it from a Lexus plan in Japan and ship it to British Columbia, Canada. So, it’s truly a made-in-Japan vehicle.
@@Gentle1111 thank you! i love the ES currently but i’ve learned that the sound of eCVT can bother me at times and i’m assuming the Japanese quality of the IS truly makes it to the driving experience inside. so, are you still driving the ES?
@@hipsilantro27 you are welcome. That’s true I have the hybrid version of the ES. 2021 model didn’t have the touch screen. The track pad is a bit of a pain dealing with especially when driving. 40k now. How about you ?
@@Gentle1111 i have the ‘24 es300h but sometimes feels like it needs a v6. Although the low-end torque from the hybrid does pull off nice and smooth, it can get loud. Overall, 44 mpg is pretty nice 👍🏼
@@ResplendentRaider Just personal preferences. I prefer luxury over sport. The ES has a smoother quieter ride. The only weakness the ES had imo was the infotainment system which was finally corrected for 2023
@@stevenwolff6866and it’s front wheel drive. If you ever drove them back to back you’d notice immediately the driving difference. But I’m seeing now most of you don’t care about driving dynamics since everyone’s saying es 😢 which is why no one bought the gs sigh 😔. I’ll drive my gs for ever
I wonder why the ES350 didnt have an f sport interior? No f sport engraving in the head rest or steering wheel but had the f sport exterior appearance?
Great observation! Sometimes Lexus Canada will offer a cheaper Fsport or F sport Design package that doesn't have as many of the features/amenities as the regular Fsport package but still has the same exterior looks!
Oh I very much agree!! The GS was one of the cars that brought me to Lexus in the first place! I fell in love with the 2011 bodystyle and then my first Lexus was a 2013. Very underrated car! I hope one day they bring it back! Thanks for watching!
That was my first choice when I got my current car, but by the time I was ready to purchasethey had already been off production for like 3 years. They need to bring it back!
I was debating on which one to get. At first it was the v6 with AWD in the IS but the ES has better back seat room and I can run regular gas with it too; after seeing this video, I know the ES ultra Luxury in the Moonbeam Beige Metallic is the right choice for me. Thanks
The ride smoothness in the ES is so much better, and cabin noise is non-existent.You get so much more space, luxury. You will look for excuses just to go for a short ride.Highly recommend the ES.I personally am looking to get the 2023 model year by next summer.
The ES seats don’t go down so that they are more comfortable for passengers. I drive the 2023 ES 300 hybrid ultra luxury and I think it is absolutely amazing. It’s a huge upgrade from the 2015 ES hybrid premium I traded in.
I bought 1 months ago es350 f sport 2024, but 240-260 miles on full tank its terrible. I have 15.6 mpg))) what about you expirience? Also 350 dont have sport character anyways. Im planning to swith it in es300 h luxary but non f sport . I have iridium colorand 1200 milleage)
Engineering background here it’s a damn shame that Lexus got rid of the GS I wish that they would bring it back Unfortunately there wasn’t a high enough demanding sales required Lexus to 86 GS . Between the and I like the fact that the S has all wheel drive but in 2025 the ES will also have all-wheel-drive as an option I like the ES because I prefer the midsize sedan over the compact sedan because I was 6 foot tall American one of my favorite hobbies is to review cars that I can’t afford however as an added bonus since my friend is a manager at Alexis dealership I get a test drive these bad boys every six months and write a 20 page report it’s the next best thing to own one because every six months you get a test drive a new one
The es 350 i can get one for 35k but a 2018 loaded is350 with 60k miles cost just the same but the is is more fun and looks a tad bit better but the es has so much more to offer
I think you highlight some details that a 50 year old may not care about. Most people buy a Lexus for reliability and comfort otherwise they go BMW. Thanks for the review.
I decided to get the 2023 Lexus IS350 F Sport RWD. I absolutely love it. I got the Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 with white interior 🔥 Rare combo 👌 Took me a while to find it ans get it. I had it ordered from 500 miles away.
I don’t get it! is year of 2024 still use old fashion incandescent light bulbs turn signal in this called luxury high price vehicles! It doesn’t look good👎
I have an IS350 F-Sport, but recently had an ES300 loaner and was quite impressed with the performance. Also, the ES turbo was quiet and smoother than my wife's new 23 RX350
Great question! I guess it depends on where you are loosing traction. The IS has a bit of camber so I think maybe in a straight line sometime it has a bit less contact area, however in a turn that area is a bit better! Either way the Pilot Sport 4S is an amazing tire so I'm sure it wouldn't hurt! This is just my guess though!
I have had both. Totally different. I can get 4 sets of golf clubs in my es. It gets 30 mph and takes regular gas. The is is louder more fun to drive. The is350 f sport has a mean growl to it like a muscle car. Don't like that you have to use premium though
But please keep using premium because I’ve driven cars that people just put 87 in anyway and the engine timing is just down tuning itself and lots of ticking.
Got my ES300h one month ago. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid. It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories: 1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps; 2) Smartacess Card Key; 3) Premium Paint; 4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display; 5) Ultra Luxury Package; 6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat; 7) Door edge film by 3M; 8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and 9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows. The three-projector design that creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads. Ultra Luxury extras: 1) 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels 2) Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades 3) Power open/close trunk with kick sensor 4) 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen display 10.2-inch Head-Up Display 5) Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Panoramic View Monitor. Averaging 43+ MPG City/Hwy driving and I had the oil and filter changed at 1,000 miles for my own peace of mind. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10,000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and the Toyota filter every 5,000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. 🤣
Got my ES350 back in April, came with the luxury package..auto open/close trunk, kick sensor, power folding mirrors etc. my only gripe is I didn’t get the color really wanted.
