Hey everyone... HDR is up! Took a whole day. I will try to make it where these videos especially HDR ones are ready to go from the get go. This LG 32GS95UE is an HDR King... *The matte Coating is the same as on the 32GQ950 or 27GP950.
hi Viktors, thanks for the video! I have the 32GP950-B and I like the coating so it's good if it's the same. The LG 32GS95UE is not available in France, not even for pre-order (certainly not before the end of May-June). he is in the top position to become my next monitor🤩
However, I will stay with the LG 32GQ950, I saw a video of the Civilization V game and compared the image with the LG 32GS95UE. The LG 32GQ950 ips has a magical and better image than the LG 32GS95UE OLED, in my opinion.
Great review Viktor 👏 You did a really good job showcasing this monitor compared to other reviewers out there - I hope brands like LG, ASUS, MSI etc. is watching your reviews and will provide you with their new monitors in the future. This is a lot more consumer friendly and easy to watch .. Not just dry facts like others 😅
I actually have it! I havent opened but i bought it for when the 5000 series gpus come out. Could you please do 480 hz more with telling us how the clarity is at 1080 in gameplay like fortnite lol. Both at 27 and 24 in. Also 27 in and 4k 240 hz if its possible. Thank you!
I just got this Monitor in today and I was super scared because of all the W-Oled slander…. Those guys can kiss it ! This Monitor is everything and more yeah they don’t have a USB C but who cares if you have a PC this is for the strictest of gamers and I think the Glossy Matte finish adds a really premium feel to the Monitor I love this thing 10/10
Nice! Happy you Love it as much as I do!! We need to spread the word as yes.. too much fake influencers pushing slander on this awesome monitor. Honestly I have seen that with alot of monitors. The rabbit hole is deep..
I just double checked. While it is so close. The bottom bezel is a hair thicker vs all 3 sides. Lol but still it beats qd oleds bottom bezel. I dont know why qd oled cant get them bezeles.
Got this today after using a 42” c3 as my screen. But obviously felt too big for KBM so wanted new 32”. Avoid this, it is horrendous. I have a beast pc with 4090 and on the c3 it felt like I was in the future. After using this monitor today it felt like I had a ps3, truly horrible, I put it down to the matte coat?
The coating is the same as the 32GQ950.. so to me its the same as we are used to. Nothing new or bad. What was your monitor before this one?. I ask this question to everyone and the matte screen is either the same or was worse.
I heard the same thing, HDR is bad with this monitor and the coating being matte finish isnt that great thus you know the LG C3 will blow it out the water on all levels. If i were you = RTX 4090 + LG C3 = BEST gaming combo and even if you have a ps5/series X that's the way to go From what ive seen as well. PC monitors and HDR don't get along as great as they should and colors seem to look sorta washed out. Had the Samsung Oddy neo g7 32" and that monitor looked mid in HDR which people say "its the best for gaming" Also, Never again, Ill look at videos and make my decision, By looking at this video it "LOOKS" like it pops but im sure in person its not hitting like this at all. That's what made me buy the neo G7 thinking the picture would look like this
I honestly dont have a problem with it. I dont see it grainy but.. say the 27GS version is grainier. So its hard to say. But I do not see a pearl sheen. Thats good. Im still working on it but I will have a bunch of monitors up testing coatings soon.
This model also dont have IR sensor to use remote control? Dont understand why 27GS have it,but 32,34 and 39GS dont have option in general to eneable Remote Control.
I didnt see anything in the box its not even listed. Weird I know. This should have included a remote. Maybe even smart features. (I hear there may be a new smart version in the future but later.. when later? Later later.. lol)
@@DisplayReality :) yes I saw people use a remote from 27GR (2023) model and its working on the 27GS model but also there is no remote in the box of 27GS model. Dont know why only a 27GS model include a IR sensor
Useful! How'd you set up windows 11 hdr calibration? QD-OLEDs seem to hit 1k but the LG doesn't (if you follow the test pattern). does this actually affect the peak brightness?
Have you tried windows hdr tests. The PG32UCDM had this exact issue. 600nits cap in win tool. An update fixed it. So I am guessing the same for the LG? An hdr windows tests shows 1220nits 2% etc
Really dislike the mid-2010s “gaming” aesthetic of “gaming” monitors. Down to the silly name “ultra” gear lol. Wish they’d make these monitors with the normal LG look without the bling. I’d buy it!
Woah, I think this video is the best to showcase how beautiful this monitor is. Thank you for uploading it in 4K HDR, it looks magnificent. I just ordered this monitor.
I always switch to dual mode before I start the game that I’m going to play. And I haven’t have any issues. I’m gonna try the setting you suggested in the Nvidia control panel.
It helps me enjoy it better. Before I felt it muted in colors but after like with the dancing video the color popped more. Game look bettter in hdr etc... I was showing the dual mode issue as LG said at a press of a button it switches which in my case didnt. Hopefully in a one off issue
@ViktorsReality my Asus G751jy back in the day was dead silent when not playing game or doing something extensive, but eventually they started spinning even when doing nothing. Playing with speakers or open back headphones fans will ruin experience little bit. ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE can do it why not Lg?
something about the math with pixels and resolution, is why its not 1440p and purposely 1080/4k. it scales "perfectly" at 4x as opposed to whatever 1440p really is.
I thought I would’ve liked this over my Alienware aw3423dwf but wasn’t impressed. Images looked too dull on warzone compared to the Alienware. I’ve had almost every monitor out and I truly feel that Alienware makes the best monitors atp
Thx for the review. Sounds great and it looks even better. If I only don‘t need a monitor for both, console gaming and office work. The risk of burn in keeps me from this beautiful 32“ OLED panels…😢 But the Neo G7 does a really good job and the 65“ C1 closes the gap pretty well. Keep going my friend you‘re great!
Good thing is the Neo G7 has a great HDR picture in both sdr and true hdr modes. I think its time for me to upgrade to a 65" C4 this yr. Lol that g4 price is too crazy for me.. lol
@@DisplayReality Insane prices for G4. I‘ll probably upgrade my TV with the next console generation. And yes, HDR impact on the Neo G7 is really amazing.
This is my favorite monitor! The slim bezels with the WOLED panel (less chances of burn in) makes it almost perfect! Do you think this monitor will get a little cheaper?😅 man the price is killing me
Great review! Subbed. I am thinking between this or Asus PG32UCDM. Leaning more towards this one. Only issue that this is still not available to buy in EU. Asus one got listed recently but for 1500 EUR. Hoping this will be slightly cheaper.
Thx friend... The Asus is the top QD OLED so far but this has other special features that you may be interested in. 480hz, pixel sound, brightest peaks. LG has just started mass producing these monitors fornthe global market so for the EU? I believe in the next 2 months as this LG was manufacrured in April and sent to me in April.. lol right. Freshbout the factory. Mine is a retail unit I preordered back i march.
I too am waiting for that specific monitor. The current GS 45" 1440p version is cool.. but I may get one in in the summer to try it out. Im sure they are fun.. 5120x2160 tho will look extra crispy...! Congrats man thats a good one to wait for...
QD OLED wins on both a technology and visual level. The added vibrance I do here only helps the LG but I would prefer QD OLED Tech but with this brightness capability. Still... 480hz is nice as I will be playing some games for a week to see if I miss 4K. .. lol I prob will..
Hi. Did you use windows hdr calibration tool? people on reddit say that monitor maxes out at 600 nits which i can confirm. does it still archive 1300 nits in the 1%?
When I test with a light meter hdr test on youtube etc it shows 1300nits etc. Asus ucdm had an issue with the tool at 600nits also so I hope LG updates soon to fix.
Been using it for a few days and love it but I have an issue with gamma. Anyone able to get the lagom black level test to show all black squares with any combinations of settings in hdr or sdr without using black stabilizer? Is this a bug or the way it's supposed to work. Blacks in dead space and similar games are mega crushed compared to my lg cx 48.
@@DisplayReality EDIT: So it looks like the hdr's sdr brightness slider in windows was affecting the lagom test and the in game black levels of dead space in hdr, once i cranked that to 100 it seems to be working much better. Still can't figure out why the sdr is crushing though. It's not the end of the world, just weird how the lagom test is so much brighter on my lg cx even in hdr (even after cranking the sdr brightness slider to 100 on the 32gs95ue). Thanks for getting back so quick! I've been using mode 4 and custom which darkens the overall image in sdr, but even set to mode 1 (I'm guessing that's 2.2 but it's not labeled in the menu) and warm with 100 brightness the first 4 squares are all crushed and I need the stabilizer at 70 before that 1st square shows up.
good review. Just a question, Every other review (HDTVTest, Monitor Unboxed and techless) on this monitor shows around 500 nits in 10% APL and around 350 nits in 25% with Peak brightness set to high. any idea why that is?
I used my light meters and the Windows HDR test. Some channels just use different scenes on testing. I also go for impact settings not toned down like they like. See my settings in the description. I also found that FPS mode lifts highlights alot vs the gamer1 or 2 settings.
Hi again, I found the awnser to your question. It may seem that "other" reviewers when they test brightness like HDVtest they use 6500k. Which closely resembles Warm2 for instance on tvs or oled monitors. I test mine on Warm1 basically. Warm2 does lower brightness. I dont use other review settings as Warm2 to me is too warm for my enjoyment of an impactful pictur that I provide and love to game on. This seems to be the case. Try both settings on your current monitor to know what I am talking about.
I'd like to see older games like BG1 or 2 or even Arcanum in the 1080p mode. Those games are so old i think they would look so much better in 1080p vs 4k or even 1440p.
@@DisplayReality please do! I haven't seen anyone else doing this and I'm sure it may be niche , but there has to be more than me. Everyone just tested esports on 1080p.
Saw this monitor on Rtings and was looking for something that’s compatible with the Xbox series S since I like switching between PC and console. I also looked at the AW3225QF but apparently it doesn’t support 1440p 120HZ?
Great video Vik! Interesting that you mentioned the 32GQ950 because that’s also my main gaming/productivity monitor and I’m tempted to try this new LG but I need to know how much of an upgrade it really is? Specifically how does the coating and brightness compare?
Brightness in HDR is great. SDR is a letdown but so fsr I have set it to HDR and adjusted the sdr slider to 80%-100% and it looks way better.. also the vibrance like I said here. Coating is a non issue. Looks exactly like the GQ.
@@DisplayReality weird! every other review (HDTVTest, Monitor Unboxed and techless) on this monitor shows around 500 nits in 10% APL and around 350 nits in 25% with Peak brightness set to high. any idea why that is?
@@DisplayReality thanks brother, I know the qd oled has more punchy colours, but in comparison is it significant or ever so slightly? From what I heard most are saying slightly.
Hey, have you Pink tint on the left side of the LG 32GS95UE-B OLED display ? Do you have this problem on this monitor or LG OLED Monitor/TV I don't find white uniformity as good as my ASUS QD-OLED PG32UCDM..
What preset are you using. Hard reset your ps5 first. (Disconnect all cables for 15min) in hdr mode I belive 16 - 18 clicks gives you 1,000 - 1,300 nits
On the ps5 when setting up hdr. Everytime you change a monitor it needs to be redone. Try gamer 2 or fps for increased highlights. Just try them. Peak on high and brightness 100. Black stabilizer should be 50 or depending on how you like it for a nice punchy picture dont go over 60..
@@DisplayReality I tried Gamer 2 and it does look better than 1 and FPS looks way more colorful and bright for sure. Have you noticed how insanely good it looks on gamer 1 with HDR off? why does it look so good on gamer 1 with hdr off but so crushed with hdr on. I think FPS with hdr on comes the closest to Gamer 1 off what do you think?
@@DisplayReality For burn-in? I'm reading that people got mixed answers from LG when asked. I don't get it that LG doesn't mention this anywhere.. I might cancel my pre-order and wait for the ASUS one..
its a good looking monitor but i have it next to my msi qdoled and the real usage brightness isnt as good. the 480hz is cool but i dont see myself using it as 1080p is bad looking at 32inches and shrinking the size makes things worse looking. For $500 more i cant justify it at all. Still a good monitor but maybe at 1k it would be worth it.
@ViktorsReality it's not that there's an issue with brightness. It gets bright, just not as bright as the qdoled in real usage and not the small 1% windows. I have tried the new 34-inch ultrawide oleds from lg, and they are way brighter. The asus 34-inch model was the brightest I have used buy hdr was bugged so I returned. The monitor just isn't as bright in regular use is my point compared to the competition. One last note, everyone complains about the magenta color on the gloss, but you can see magenta on the matte finish as well with direct light on it. I'm surprised no reviewers have mentioned this. Again, the monitor is great with good brightness, but the qdoled gives better brightness in regular use. Hope that helps. I care about brightness, so I'm keeping the msi in my case.
@@DisplayReality great, i want to replace my g7 which i bought based on your reviews years ago, now im torn between the aw3225qf and this thing! We need analysis!
I can have a vs on these 2 monitors next week. Yea the G7 was a workhorse for me and the channel good to know you are from that time. :) Now the next gen hunt begins.. Im thinking of some persona to show colors and some gameplay as I will start releasing gameplay in hdr so whenever you get your monitor you can test to see what I see.
Hold up! Lol I am waiting to see the new Samsung QD OLED's. The G80SD 32" 4k 240hz is next. But so far my main is this monitor. Its a successor to my 32GQ950. I love that LG GQ. More monitors incoming to test hopefully we can see more differences... 480hz is nice tho honestly..
600nits? If you are going by the windows tool its wrong. It needs an update. Same thing happened to the Asus PG32UCDM and that just git updated to full 1000nits. But in hdr mode.. select the sdr slider all the way to the right.
Simple, You fell for the hype. Monitors like this really isnt that bright and for the price you really should be getting LG OLED tv specs but thats not the case
Depends on what you do. For gaming the KTC mini leds are really good for the price but yes the Neo G8 just works as the ktc has had issues with firmwares.
@@DisplayReality I play often with lower res. Have now g8 Oled and I’m playing on 1440p 2K I hope it’s not much worse than that ;) planing on buying it later this year.
you only "need" 480hz if you're playing competitive games (mainly CS2, Valorant or OW2 for example). if you don't then don't even bother, 4K 240hz is already insanely good and smooth. I currently have a 360hz monitor and switching back to 240hz is not a big disadvantage, feels nearly the same and I sometimes wouldn't be able to clearly tell which is which without having a side by side comparison. but 4K will always give a way better look, while 1080p is only recommended if you play on a lower resolution anyways to get more fps.
I can vs them soon. Right now the LG because I am used to the LG 32GQ950. Thats the monitor I have been using for 2yrs. This is the true successor to it. The Alienware has the best oled warranty. In a dsrk room the coating is a non issue. In daytime depending on where you place it one or the other could look best. It all depends on how or where you place it.
So your saying the alienware is not as preferred because of the raised blacks and magenta color under greater ambient lighting and thats why you prefer the lg?
@@adeveloper6653 no... I have never had an issue with raised black or purple haze. I just prefer LG due to my previous monItor. Color is better on the QD OLED. HDR Brightness is better on the LG. Plus I like that 480hz clarity and pixel sound. Even tho the 480hz is 1080p it does look nice after 10min of using it and I get immersed in my games. You cant lose with either.. Dell has an better and faster warranty turn-around. It all depends on what ypu are looking for in a monitor.
The Neo G8 has 4 LEDs per zone for a total of 4784 LEDs, while the LG 27GR95UM only has 1 LED per zone for a total of 1560 LEDs, so despite the fact that the LG model has a zone count advantage on paper, the Neo G8 and Neo G7 actually have substantially more individual LEDs, resulting in Neo G7/G8 having better local dimming capabilities.
Its hard to decide. I personally would pick the LG. Peak HDR brightness really needs to be seen vs any qd oled. Ill try to put something together. Coating is a non issue. With All these new OLED's... HDR is king so right now the king is LG on impact.
@@DisplayReality Yep the QD OLED monitors are all capped at 450 nits or so for 10% window HDR, while the WOLEDs of this year can get quite a lot brighter than that. Even my older 27GR95QE gets to 650 nits for that window size.
@@DisplayReality hmm but its still not available here in Europe/Germany :/ other reviewers do still prefer the Asus one, but I to see it in front of me! thanks Vik!
For me there is no way around the FO32U2P. All other monitors relying on DP1.4 DSC is a deal breaker. You need such a high level of compression that it is noticeable to people. I unfortunately can not post the link on youtube as the comment would get deleted but this is from a research paper where they used DSC with a ration of 3:1 and people where able to tell the difference. Some even with a 100% accuracy. Now for 4k/240/10-Bit you would need a ration of about 2.5:1 which means almost the same level of compression. For that price…..
Good thing the Aorus and Asus seem to be the brightest QD OLED's. But the DP 2.1 future proof is good to have. All those tactical gaming features is also a plus. Prices also are better on the QD OLED's
Yeah DSC is best avoided, though if you have to use DSC then at least use HDMI 2.1 instead of DP1.4 as the HDMI 2.1 has 41.9Gbps of actual usable bandwidth vs 25.9Gbps on DP1.4 and HDMI 2.1requires less extreme compression to achieve 4K 240Hz
You should test brightness in real world scenarios, like gaming. I noticed it's much less brighter than most monitors out there in peak highlights. Other than that, great monitor.
Test gaming, every game that has HDR settings. I can not get the monitor to clip higher than 600 nits, which then caps highlights around that number and doesn't get as bright as it should.
@@ZekkRagnos I just read that the PG32UCDM had this same issue. Not sure if a firmware fixed or a windows tool update. It will be resolved im sure. Also see an nvidia driver will validate. Not sure if already.
@ViktorsReality yes I did, and it clips at 600 nits. I had the Asus, and it had the same issue where it was clipping around 465 but got fixed with an update.
I am a lg fan boy I own a 65in lg g3 oled and a 65in lg b6 I would have bought this monitor but matte screen is terrible. I ordered the 32in msi 321urx it's unreal no regrets.
The 27gr95um is broken in HDR (gamer 1 and 2, post update). Way too dim and LG has apparently abandoned that monitor. Such a shame because it could and should have been an awesome monitor. I wish I had saved for the LG OLED instead (even though I prefer 27" and mini-led over 32" & OLED).
@@DisplayReality I know! There are SO many good things about the 27gr95um, but the reason I paid $899.99 for it was for the advertised HDR 1000 mini-led performance. I was coming from the Innocn 27m2v which had an amazing HDR picture (once the settings in my graphics card were adjusted a little), but unfortunately, after a year of owning it, it basically broke. I've always loved LG (I have a C1, the 27GP950(was my favorite for a while), and a couple of smaller LG monitors, so I was excited to get the 27gr95um (purchased it shortly after the initial update, so I never experienced the bad blooming issues). My heart sank after noticing how ridiculously dim the picture would get on Gamer 1&2 HDR profiles if there was/is any sort of contrasty image(especially if I switched from Gamer 2 to FPS)...and it doesn't go back to being bright until exiting the game. I didn't return it because I thought surely LG would update it again. Unfortunately, based on their feedback to me and others on the monitor's page (and it is still reduced in price), it looks like they are placing blame on the consumer's settings. For example : They told me to "turn off DFC" on the monitor, but the 27gr95um doesn't have a DFC setting! Ugh. Sorry to go on about it, but I really want LG to at least disable the inverse ABL on ONE Gamer profile. Maybe if people make enough noise, they will do this. I don't have tools to measure, but I'd be surprised if the monitor actually hits 1000 nits in peak highlights. It is much dimmer than the Innocn 27m2v during HDR game play.
@@joaquinarchivaldoguzmanloe1073 lol but just so you know its the same coating as the GQ. I will get the Samsung next and Asus whenever I can find one..
