Yaaasss! Been waiting for this. I always enjoy your review Aijing. For me, your reviews are the best ones to help me choose which shades to buy especially that I can only buy them online. It really helps that you are super detailed and compares them with the other lipsticks. Thanks for sacrificing your lips and scrubbing them so much to swatch everything XD
They are cruelty free because since 2013 you can't produce or commercialize beauty products in europe that aren't cruelty free, source: European directive 2003/15/CE 😘
These look so great on you! I got Velveteen Muse and it’s so great. If I didn’t already have Fawn and Blush in lipstick form I’d have gone for those (I think I’m in the minority for enjoying Blush’s depth of tone!) I do wish she’d released colors she didn’t already have as Velvets, as I don’t dupe lip colors I already own, not even in different formulas. I also think I’m the only one who’s never had an LE lipstick break. I travel with them everywhere! Maybe I luck out out lol. I agree with the impression of Korean makeup; I’ve thought for a while that her line has traces of Korean influence in the formulas. Which makes it super great imo!
Same here! I began buying Lisa's lipsticks in 2018 and own every Velvet, (with the exception of Intrigue and Blush Lightly). None have broken, even when they've traveled. Blush is my favorite of all of them. I bought Velveteen Blush. I like it even more than the bullet. The doe applicator also functions as a lip liner and it doesn't need touch-ups.
Yay!!! I have been waiting for your Velveteen reviews. I think my next order would be a Velveteen instead of a Velvet lipstick as I prefer a blurring effect and I love how Fawn is a little warmer in this new formula ❤
I’ve worn them a few times now and they last amazingly well, no budging. Slight wear in the inner parts of lips after eating, but you can reapply those areas easily and it goes on smoothly. It doesn’t flake off, doesn’t feel drying after wearing it all day, just an awesome formula all round
Really appreciate your testing videos! Different colours really do flatter different skintones - my best colours are the bright orangey reds (especially Velvet Morning and Strawberry Shock). The peachy browns look great on you - I always want these colours but they make my skin look red 😢
Ok thank you for this! I thought Muse was beautiful on you as well as Jazz once you buffed it out a bit. I have 12 Velvet lipsticks and my very first one broke on me just 2 days ago, after having it for nearly 2 years. :( I’m feeling paranoid now. I also thought Blush looked really beautiful on you although I agree it’s quite bold for a muted shade. I wear it blended/buffed out, as I fond that the most flattering.
I was literally waiting for your video on Velveteens! Placing order asap! Could you perhaps one day compare Bloom with Myth (or maybe post it on community)? I also got the Mist, but don't really find it to be anything special. Clinique's Moisture surge Face spray has similar ingredients and a finer "mister" (is that how you call it lol... idk... the sprayer...), Lisa's sprays random droplets sometimes. Maybe I got a dud lol... Anyway, thank you again for the time and effort you put into these videos, very much appreciated! xx
Did you buy the newer Luxuriously Lucent shades? Kitten Mischief, Painterly, Spirited Away, Dance Card, etc? I can’t find good swatches and comparisons, and You’re absolutely queen when it comes to that.
Love your content, so helpful and different to the other Lisa Eldridge videos out there. After watching your video went to buy rain but it’s sold out 😢….. how different is the rain velveteen compared to enchantment velvet lipstick blended out? Was tempted by Le Mepris but you’ve convinced me out of that one - kitten mischief might be a better choice. Have you tried the Dries Van Noten lipsticks?
So enchantment velvet blended out looks similar enough to rain, but the effect on your lips won't look the same, I think your natural lip colour will show through quite a bit, so the even if the colours look the same on the back of the hand (which I just tested), it might not look the same on your lips. Of course using the velveteen will give you full opacity and really show the true colour. I'm sure they will come back in stock, or if you really like rain, try the lip liner :)
@@Aijingaling thank you so much for checking, really appreciated. Luckily I managed to find Rain in stock at Selfridges and its just arrived. LE aren’t restocking until next year
I prefer the liquid lip for the bold colours, I took ribbon with me for my holiday recently and loved it! I’m so scared to travel with bullets due to breakage. I decanted my broken lipsticks into a container for travelling though I hardly used them on holiday 👍🏻
Recently bought Affair Velveteen. Theres nothing special about the finish, feel, or wear of it. It looks just ok on my middle aged lips, like any other decent liquid lipstick that sets. It emphasizes fine lines, and looks like its sitting on top of the skin. As a stain, spread around with fingers, it looks easily uneven and not skin like. If im not careful, it wears for less than 5 hours. I just overall feel a bit let down. At least it does feel lightweight and goes on thinly. Thats nice.
Sorry that your experience with this lipstick is not the same as mine 😭 I love this formula and it works really well on me. I’m 31 and this is my new go to, I worn dragon while I was out and it lasted all day until I ate, and only a tiny bit came off, I was able to re-apply without any issues as well. I think everyone just has different experiences, what works for one person won’t necessarily work on another 🥲
@@AijingalingYes. I think my lips have more fine lines than yours. I cant name a matte liquid lipstick [that sets] that I like. They may all just look alright to bad on mature/very lined lips. I just kept hearing the velveteens smoothed over fine lines, blurring them etc, and they don't. I expected them to look as smooth as the NYX Soft Matte lip creams! I guess thats a too tall order for something that dries down and clings.
@@tedoymisojos hmmm that’s unfortunate! I know a lot of people find those liquid lipsticks drying but I really didn’t 🤔 it just goes to show how personal makeup truly is!
Thank you so much!! You provided the best swatches and comparisons of the velveteens and velvets out of all the videos I’ve watched. Great explanations and awesome lighting!
😍 Oh, this upload was a lovely surprise! It always makes me happy to watch your videos, Aijing. You look beautiful (healthy, rested?!). 'Rain' and 'Dragon' looked best on you. Suits your skin tone and makes you shine. Big hug, Sabine😘
Always so happy to see you post a video, Aijing, no matter how sporadically!!! Yet another wonderful LE comparison video! My only remaining curiosity is how V Bloom (bullet) compares to Rainbow Spill... if you have the time and the desire to compare those 2 shades (well, heck, Bloom v Duchess v Rainbow Spill?), would be so interested to see, and if not, of course no problem because I'll console myself with that Merit video you just teased!!! ;)
Ive been making the very first LE shopping list and watching your reviews. We think alike! So thank you for being so helpful.❤ Now I've decided to get the liquid lipsticks as soon as you said the word "travel".
Hi! Thank you for this video! I ended up purchasing Affair and Rain. Rain confirmed I don't like pinks on me 😅 but it is a gorgeous color so maybe a friend will love it. Affair is very nice. I will say if you don't like liquid lipsticks these might be one to try! They have great staying power through eating and drinking, however they will fall apart if you like an oil-based lip balm! (I use Aquaphor Lip Repair). If anything I'm pretty pleased and hope she makes other colors, like maybe Intrigue! (I was never a fan of the velvets).
I don’t remember the eyeshadow! I think I may have not worn one in that video actually, my lids are just darker naturally 😂 blush was pink soap from Lisa if I remember correctly…
@@Aijingaling thank you so much! I miss her blushes. Need them back in stock! Again thank you for your review and the info. I am Asian and have a hard time figuring out what a good neutral shade to buy for eyeshadows.
