NEW LIVING ROOM DECORATE WITH ME // 2022 FALL DECOR IDEAS WITH BALSAM HILL 

Hi Lauren. I decorate for fall on September 1, and then for Halloween on October 1 and then for Christmas on November 1. Starting on November 1, I gradually add Christmas touches in and then on Thanksgiving night it is full blown Christmas in my house. I have a tradition that the house is in full Christmas mode on Thanksgiving night, all the trees are decorated and when it gets dusk, the outside Christmas lights go on and the candles in each window is turn on, and all the trees inside are lit for pure Christmas magic and the Christmas season begins. It has been my tradition for many years. It is one of my favorite days of the year. I love Christmas, not for the commercialisms but for the joy of the season and what it means. It also seems like people are so much kinder during Christmas time and I hope I find that it happens this year too. Love your channel.

The new furniture is lovely, I think the couch should be moved back a little bit, it seems a little crowded in there to me. We do not celebrate Halloween at our house, it’s fall all the way from August til we decorate for Christmas!🎄😊

Love your channel and videos. However, i just think there are too many mums and the entryway looks too crowded. I also feel placing the couches across from each other would have looked better and all that furniture in there makes it look small and crowded.

I decorate for what I call "fall light" the first of September, then start Halloween decor the last week in September because it literally takes us 10 days to decorate for Halloween (yes, our favorite!). Then November 1st we put away Halloween and bring on Thanksgiving for the next month. The day after Thanksgiving we put away the fall stuff and start Christmas. I can't give up any of it! One thing I am really looking forward to is what you do for artwork. On the surface I can't envision the artwork from your Victorian working for this house, but I know you will have amazing surprises for us in this house!!

Looking forward to the art work. I'm missing the more unique colors and textures of the old house. I can see where this style has appeal to a wider audience, though. I decorate for fall somewhere between Labor day weekend and mid-September. A lot of that goes back up when Halloween comes out around the first weekend in October. I plan to take Halloween down and go back up with fall, adding in Thanksgiving touches, the day after Halloween. In the past we've waited to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving with the exception of outside Christmas lights (which don't get turned on until Thanksgiving eve). This year we may begin incorporating Christmas areas early--so the kids Christmas tree upstairs, a Christmas village in the living room. But I'd like to keep the Thanksgiving vibes in the foyer, kitchen, and dining room until Thanksgiving so we can enjoy it with the meal!

wow its pretty but if you keep adding stuff it starts to look cluttered no matter if your things are expensive it starts to look too much...a little goes along way more than enough is just too much

The house has really come together quickly , can’t believe how much you have accomplished. Most people would still be living out of boxes at this point. As I was watching you decorate everything I found myself asking why doesn’t this room look as elegant as the old ones? Then it hit me just as you were saying , We are bringing over the artwork ! I realized all the beautiful vintage prints are missing ! That will really complete the picture . Can’t wait to see what it looks like when you get your hardwood floors . Still don’t think I could have given up those fridges or that beautiful Victorian bed . Missed seeing the kitties and Chewy , hopefully they will make a guest appearance next time . I start decorating for fall mid August , Halloween Oct 1 ,Thanksgiving Nov1 , and Christmas Day after Thanksgiving. I refuse to give Thanksgiving the bums rush. It deserves time in the spotlight and not ignored in the rush to get Christmas up . It might take me two weeks to get Christmas up but I don’t care I’ll just enjoy it longer I never even think about taking it down till after Dec 6th Looking forward to your Halloween decor.

I love all the mums. I didn’t realize they weren’t real. Those are really nice. I want some for my front porch. It isn’t very big. But I still am going to buy some real mums. The ones I have seen near me aren’t pretty yet. I want some that are full. I have a big pot, that’s turned upside down, next to my rocker out front. I want to put one in it. I don’t decorate outside much. I have a lot of feral cats out front. And three small dogs that go out back. So I don’t decorate like I used to. But your living room looks beautiful.

I Don't decorate for Fall, but I do for Halloween

Fall/Halloween have been up for a few weeks now. It excites the grandkids; and me too, :) When I was younger I could put it all up in about 3 days. Now it takes me forever so I start early. But not early enough this year so I have felt rushed. We just adore Halloween and have always combined it with the autumn decos. Can't wait for your Halloween. I enjoy it so very much! Could we see the chickens one day soon? I'm a chicken freak as well; just don't have any. Got two cockatiels. Does that count? xoxTX

Don't like it when you put tiny pumpkins on top of a bigger one that Looks too contrived and the leaves on the mental could actually be less draped to the floor in the right...worked in Display for Years and when it's not a flow it's too contrived otherwise it's gorgeous just put the tinier pumpkin in front of the larger ones or entwined into a wreath or in the mantle...less forced of an image will result

I recommend you add less flowers. I would add books to the round tables in the living room, instead of the flowers.
