Hi again Peter, I have a newly tooled Bachmann class 47, it is a lovely runner and it looks amazing, I got it from Hatton’s while they had a bargains sale, I bought a roof fan motor assembly from Bachmann spares that fits onto the pcb and comes with the self tapping screws, it plugs into a 2 pin connector on the pcb board, I got a Legomann sound decoder fitted and it sounds superb, all the cab and engine room lighting is excellent along with the working roof fans.
Hello Peter nice collection of Locos know what you mean about winter ,moved my engines into the house ,Warm up the shed then bring them out for a running session ..The wagons however have to rough it !! and stay out in the shed and over winter !! dont think even LGB would make it left in my cold shed !!!
Hi Peter, hope all is well with you and the family, great collection of ROG stock, I have an Accurascale class 37 in ROG livery, I love the livery as it looks so unique, I tried so many times on eBay but they went for mad money with and without sound, hope to get another one eventually as there are other models I would like to have in my collection, keep the great videos coming, thanks for sharing.
That is one fantastic-looking and sounding loco. What a brilliant livery. Put it on a German or Austria Vectron or 185 and I would be hard-pressed not to buy it on a whim! Absolutely brilliant! Nice! Stay warm over there!!

Yes you're right, I said I didn't like this livery but on the 37 and still don't. I love my 37s as they are and I don't think this scheme suits it. Cheers Peter
Snap Peter, I've had my DC version for a few months and love it, only one niggle on DC the lights are a bit dim, I think manufacturers are going for less bright lights now. I prefer the way the lighting was on the older models, maybe it's my old eyes running out of lamp oil? You could treat yourself again and buy from Rails the Dapol Tiphook Rail wagons 4 for £99.95 (or maybe you have them?) they look great behind R.O.G. 47. Taking about treating yourself, its my nearly 80 Birthday in December and I'm getting car transporter coaches and a 52, there no pockets in a shroud! Bill.
Yeah its still expensive @£279.95 but a nice loco but I think ROG offloaded it back in 2020 or 2021 and it saw little use until being re-liveried into the WCRC livery and operating with them. I've just got one Bachmann 47 which is the ScotRail Preserved 47712 and apart from the awful speaker and sound reproduction you cannot update the ESU sound decoder using a Lokprogrammer because of their PCB issue which prevents the update from happening, just doesn't do it and a known issue, thus you have to take it out and either stick it in another loco or on a ESU Decoder Tester and do it that way which is really annoying thus would be good if Bachmann sort that out and I think their Class 90 had similar issues.
Hi Peter , I have a new Bachman 47 but I am a little wary of taking it apart to fit a cab driver . Is it a tricky job , I would hate to break something . Cheers........Peter
Nice. I do like that livery scheme, though i`m pre privatasion myself. I did bag a deal from derails and got a new sound br blue 37 for 199 and Accurascale emailed me as a 37001 came back in stock so I used my points to take a few ££s off that one to, You have to look for the deals, Like you if you factor in the cost of a sound decoder it add a 100 + to the cost which is why I don`t buy many Hornby model unless there heavily discounted as they`d be 300+ and there just not worth that kind of money, Guess will see you in the spring after your Hibernation😃
Hi Peter. I think that ROG is a great livery and have considered it myself. Nice addition to the fleet. Totally agree with you about the price. Manufacturers have obviously cottoned on and now price their DCC ready and sound fitted locos so that if you go the DCC ready route and buy your own soundchip, you end up paying more. Sometimes, the after market speaker is better and gives better sound but I dont think that's a blanket thing. One final point, if you havent already, could you do a full vid on how you make and fit your own coupling used when you have detailed up the buffer beam? Thanks.
Hi, you get a little insight into the simple coupling I made, in my video crazy ideas in the old man shed. From about 20mins into the video. Just a wire loop glued to what was a broken Hunt magnet. That then fits onto the locos hook. Cheers Peter
rails, delivery ,class 47 bachmann ROP. DC only.weighs a ton,looks stunning ,presently running in.compare this to my Accurascale 37 sound loco,lasted 1/2 hour.Been with accurascale nearly 4 weeks.
