Today I go thrifting looking for items to resell online. I go to a few different Goodwill stores and a Salvation Army. I do see a new low at Goodwill and share my disappointment. We talk to some friends and show some Ebay comps.

Mikey, I worked for Eipper Ultralights in the 1980s. My boss flew the ultralight in "Howard the Duck" while dressed in the duck suit! As much as I wanted to like that movie (it paid my salary for awhile), it was dreadful, but I'm glad someone (you) watched it! 🦆

Your dog is precious ♥️ I use to have a golden retriever. He was one of the best dogs I have ever had. We actually shared a birthday. I miss him every day. Enjoy your buddy. They’re the best.

The owls were Homeco (Home Interior). I bought new 1977-78. They only sell for $25ish for pair. Enjoyed the journey. Thanks for taking us along Mikey.

Frame 28:13 + Thats a " Pump Organ ", you pump the peddles an it fills the bellows inside, then you can play the music. My Grand Mother used to have one, hers was converted to electric somewhere along the way !

Hi Mikey. Thanks for taking us along on the journey! I too am often baffled at what I see inside those little misc item bags. Like a bag of kitchen items with a toenail clipper and crochet hook 🤷🏻‍♀️ Keep up the good work you’re doing on your channel. Thrifting is a win win all around. You refurbish or repurpose an item for a small profit while the buyer has a new treasure to cherish. Take care Louise

Hi Susan I feel exactly the same way. I buy a lot of baby clothing. At one thrift store you can buy baby clothing by the Bag. The down fall is you really have to pick through the pile. Some items (sleepers/onesies) are so badly stained. My thought is, if you wouldn’t put it on your own child why would you donate it or feel someone else would want to put it on their child. I really appreciate buying men’s dress shirts or ties that still have the professional cleaning tag in it. Happy thrifting. Louise

I love watching thrifting shows, you are all great! Tiffany, (thrifting vegas?), has the best sound as in I cant hear any music or anything in the background. Not knowledgeable about tech things but hers really cancels the noise!

The blue round satin glass vase (perhaps Scavo Murano? Or Avon? lol) looked interesting at 13:23. It was to the left of the sword fish you put back on the shelf. Also noticed your nemesis had his arms full of treasures as you were busy looking at the fresh cart. Maybe he borrowed your cart lol. Beautiful Fenton cat! Great bag and video!

Our goodwills never mark things down! Here in central Florida. They even took away the reward card that after 200 pts you would get 5 dollars off. The prices are too high.

The Rae Dunn by Magenta may have been worth looking into. The Magenta is the original. I couldn’t really see what you grabbed, so I don’t know if you passed up anything of value, but Magenta is always worth a look up at least (my sister is a HUGE collector:). xo

Goodwill prices have gotten utterly ridiculous!!! They seem to forget they get their shit for free!!! Pretty sure the guy in the photo was Bing Crosby. The bag of stamps for $13 isn’t a bad price for a crafter, considering new they’re usually about $5 each or more. Please wash your hands thoroughly after touching that refrigerator, because the handles were as filthy as the inside! At 26:48, the red and black bag is a vintage Marlboro bag worth decent money.

Mikey my local Goodwill will not let you touch clothing racks they are just bringing out same with carts. They have a no touch rule until the workers put the item on rack or shelf. It’s SO AGGRAVATING. They also will not sell you an item if it’s doesnt have a price tag. They put it behind the counter and hold it till the night staff price it and it might take a day or two before it’s back on the shelf. I found this out when I brought an original painting to the check out. The girl grabbed it from me explaining their policy to me I was so disappointed. I arrived at the store before the doors opened the next day. Doors open I ran directly to the artwork section. It was there I grabbed it and ran to the checkout. Only to find out they didn’t price it just put it back on the floor so again they wouldn’t sell it to. I asked to talk to a manager because I really wanted to buy it!! Manager said you know our policy. I explained the situation that they made the error twice. I’ve come there twice to buy it. They tried saying if they sold it to me it wouldn’t be fair to the other people. I almost lost it! What other people I’ve tried to buy it twice but you’re going to give someone else a chance to buy it if I’m not coming back a third time before store opens just hoping it’s been priced this time. I’ve even had salt and pepper shakers one was priced $1.49 the other wasn’t priced. Again they wouldn’t sell it to me. I prefer our value village or Salvation Army. They want to sell their inventory they’ll slap a new price tag on anything Happy thrifting

I barely go to goodwill. They want to charge greedy prices ,on stuff that's donated for free. Wish we had more thrift stores in our area ,but we don't .

I bought a squatters house. had to rip out carpet some drywall. but I would buy it (the white refrigerator) and power wash bleach, oxy clean, and coffee grounds get rid of odor. 😅😅 car wash used rugs.. 😅 But not flipping this house. moving in and fixing up Handi-accessible.. forever home.. 😂two full baths done. one to go before tackling a new kitchen.

The goodwills here in the Seattle/Tacoma are so over priced it’s hard for me to go in. I have been sick for a few months but plan to go in as soon as I feel better. Another edit lol I want the January Fenton bear for my mom. Do you still have it? I probably like it more than she would. Nah I am kidding. But that’s her birthday month. Might cheer her up after the loss of my step dad.

Hi Mikey, perhaps you can get a local seamstress to take the jacket in for you. Much cheaper than branded suit stores. The store should really alter that suit for free or at least a lower price as they measured you. So annoying what they said. I know you can't say who they are, a pity though. I must say. YourGoodwill stores look like retail shops. Ours look like picked through and disheveled. There’s never anything new or in packages. And 95% of donated furniture is particle board. Or cushions are destroyed or stinky.

Really tired of people like yourself that dont get what you are doing is wrong. This is increasing the prices at stores who soul purpose was to sell items that were donated at low prices so those less fortunate could afford to have what others took for granted

That is actually not the purpose of thrift stores. Most thrift stores have a mission such as Goodwill has the purpose of "putting people to work" - employing hard to employ people as well as to make a profit. The Salvation Army does many good thing in communities such as give free food, free clothes, help with power bills, etc. Their store funds that mission. ARC Thrift stores in Colorado has a mission to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by providing funding to support the Arc, ACL, and Advocacy Denver Chapters in Colorado. Again, their stores fund that mission. So thrift stores may be where lower income people purchase items but that is not the mission or purpose of those stores. Personally, I purchase high end art, decor, and collectibles which I doubt that someone without my education and experience would find value in and purchase. There is much more stuff available than people can even purchase so there is PLENTY to go around.

Our GoodWill's don't send them to the bins they will actually change the tag so that it looks like they just got it in their store. Have a great day

Our store also has rules. NO touching the carts bringing out new items. The coloured tags are only used by staff. If the coloured tag indicates the item has been there for a certain amount of time. The simple take the item off the floor and send to a different location. Sales are rare. At least Value Village here has senior day every Tuesday at 30% off. They & Salvation Army also give coupons for 20%off when you bring in a donate.

Hey Mikey! Love to Super Cort! In Maine they won't take large kitchen appliances, or ACs , nothing with freon or funk. No beds or cribs. Nothing that might have been or ever be recalled. But , and this is a big ❤ story.... there is a furniture store small in state chain. And they do furniture take away, or when they get a return they can't sell. Anything decent they put in a warehouse. And with a call from a social worker, priest, you get the idea. The person in need can make an appointment to meet at the warehouse and take what they need. 5 or so years ago, that was me. Due to medical issues lost my job, couldn't work. Ended up in a shelter for almost a year until I got this beautiful home which is subsidized. Six months later, finally my disability went through. But if not for the furniture store, I had managed to store a daybed, but they gave me a queen boxspring, mattress and frame and a nice recliner that was like new, tag said wrong fabric color. ❤❤❤😊
