NEW M-CHASSIS! Tamiya's MB-01 Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR

Tamiya has announced a new M-Chassis kit, the MB-01. This is a versatile kit that allows you to build it in 1 of 3 different configurations - front-motor/front-drive, rear-motor low/rear-drive or rear-motor high/rear-drive. Each has its own benefits and all can be build with the parts that come in the kit.
Now, for those that are wondering, this kit is not designed to replace the M07 or M08, but instead a replacement for the M05/M06.
It looks to be a great kit, especially with the stunning Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR body set! We're looking forward to getting this thing put together!

LOL Well, it does help keep the price down (MSRP is $140 for this kit), however we think people would pay a little more if bearings and AT LEAST plastic oil-filled shocks were included.

You can get M-07/8 with oil shocks and bearings, with addition of better materials.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a very interesting chassis. TT01/02 style uprights, arms, and out drives. Looks like a TT02 diff. Will make for some good spec racing like the tt01 trucks!

Since it's the Abarth, we're probably going to start with the rear motor setup. Not sure yet if we're going high or low yet, though.

They 5 to 10 more dollars for the kit for the oilfield a but these seem to be very different friction dampers and I've seen I think you should put Marine grease in the shocks to see if that would help give some dampening.

Yes, marine grease would be a good addition. Might try a few different things to see what works best. Or just upgrade the shocks!!! :)

Nice kit😊, about ride height.. what do you reckon when it comes to ground clearance vs. Tt02? I have a tt02 set to the high clearance, stock from kit. Works OK on light gravel. Would mb01 work ok as well? Not much tarmac around😅

On tarmac, it's fine. In dirt, probably not so much. The ride height is about 6mm and could probably go a couple more, but it would be quite springy. Going to guess it's not going to be much good offroad.

Looks like maybe 18 bearings in the upgrade kit.

I know it's going for $137 at Tower hobbies but they should have added ball bearings and oil filled dampers.

Well the price would go up slightly if they included the bearings and shocks, but most upgrade to that almost immediately so it might be worth it.

@@Competitionx Purchasing optional Tamiya plastic shocks (that often leak) and Bearings runs you ~$46. They should just raise the base price, make the car legal for TCS racing and give owners of the kit a more capable and enjoyable car. In your own video you say that optional parts are not optional and you will want them.

SLIDELOGY do a Honda NSX for a M-chassis So I would try that in Marlboro colours.

I don't think they should replace the mo5 in the m06 still keep them and still have and still have this they shouldn't get rid of the 7 or the 8 like you said either.

Ya, the 07 and 08 are safe. Those are ‘race’ models. The 05 and 06 are just old lol
