My go to foundation I believe is actually a tinted moisturizer, Urban Decay Hydromaniac. It actually gives way better coverage than expected and the finish is beautiful and so comfortable and it lasts 16+ hours on my face with no primer
My HG for foundations for the past 25 yrs is Jane iredale pure pressed powder foundation. Yep a powder and I am now 54 and still fab on my face. Use w their pomegranate spray after sooo good for any skin type. can apply it light or build up to full. Happy hugs for 2024 from Tampa
I haven't tried the new berry pop cheek palette but I do have the my dream cheek trio and it's awesome! If it's the same formula the cream blush is satin matte, so on its own it doesn't emphasize texture. The cream and powder highlight are gorgeous in the my dream one! But of course I don't layer all 3 all over my cheeks like she does in the promo video, that's just crazy lol! If it doesn't look good on a 19 year old with perfect skin it's def not going to look good on my dehydrated textured cheeks. 😅 I like my cheeks to be a little more matte to blur my texture so I just put the cream blush there and use the highlights on my cheekbones where I have a lot less texture. That combo is actually my favorite highlighter these days, and I've been thinking of getting the berry pop trio just because I love the formula so much, but it isn't limited edition so I'll wait for a good sale.
My ride or die everyday foundation is Essence’s Pretty Natural Foundation💖. It’s light but has coverage, it looks natural, never settles into my fine lines. It’s so perfect!
If you want something nice to wear every day I love the wet n wild tinted hydrator- cheap and evens out skin tone nicely. Thanks for a great 2023. My new lab puppy is in my lap watching you lol
Hi Andrea, the foundation I recently came back to is the Covergirl trublend matte made, and I don't know why I ever left. It is super lightweight and almost silky on the skin. So pleasant. It's not really matte, it's more on the satiny side, and it does not hide in my lines and creases. I wear it all day and it still is even in the evening. If you like the Catrice, you might like this. It's similar in texture, just a bit lighter. Thanks for this comprehensive overview! ❤
Thank you for knowing when the Twilight collection is coming to Ulta 🙌. I've been team Edward and Jacob, and now I'm like, " These children are dysfunctional. Go Charlie and Carlisle!!"
@@celestecelestial90It sold out online in Ulta even before the announced launch. Apparently they messed up the timezones, so for some, it was sold out on the 13th already. It's a pretty palette, but I think the excessive ordering has a lot to do with FOMO.
Love to see what new products are launching! I think you’re right about Fenty and Tarte being late to the party with the concealer launches tho. Last year seemed to be THE year for concealers. Once I tried the ND Hy-Glam concealer I was hooked. I’m not even interested in trying anything else. I haven’t tried anything from Kylie cosmetics either, but I give her props for the shade range with the foundation. It’s pretty good. Have a great rest of your weekend 😊❤️
the ND cheek products are always my absolute favorite so I am really excited to see this new check mini! I read the twilight books and have seen all the movies. I'm not too terribly into it anymore, but that palette absolutely makes sense and I think it is beautiful. I really want the liners super bad. - I was team Jacob, because I love werewolves, lol. that original fency concealer was SO DRY. It made my undereyes look crepy and I'm only 35 and my undereyes are normally fine looking. I don't know why, but I've never been a concealer girl. I feel like it doesn't make much of a difference on my face. the ones I currently have (sephora collection), I just use as foundation.
Oh, that’s really good to know! I just looked it up and for some reason, I don’t think I knew that it existed! I hear so many things about their CC cream but not the foundation, so I will have to check it out.
Hi Andrea! My #1 go to foundations are the Maybelline skin tint & Catrice true skin foundation. But honestly, I have been trying out so many skin tints lately. Also, I 100% agree with you on lipsticks. I have been wearing them daily since 2020 also. Revlon super lustrous is my spirit animal 😉
Yes! I have been a skin tint fan lately too. They just look so good on the skin! There’s just something about a good lipstick that looks so much better than a sheer lip gloss these days!
My new favorite blushes are the tinted lanolips balms! I've been driving doordash in -30s temps, and no windburn! My winter skincare handles everything else but i need an extra balm on the cheeks & these are better than vaseline lol. Also the Tarte juicy blushes are really protective & look rather cute in the cold (no special cold girl makeup needed lol)!
Oh my gosh! Do you live in the Midwest? My in-laws live in Iowa and it was -20 this morning. 😭 I appreciate your recommendations and I definitely trust you after your experience in the cold weather, so I will be checking those out! 🙌
My go to foundation nowadays is Lumene's Matte oil-control foundation 💛 it gives me beautiful matte base without looking cakey and keeps my oils away better than any other foundation I've tried 😁 Lumene is Finnish makeup and skincare brand so I don't know how to get it outside of Scandinavia. But if you ever have a chance to try it, I recommend you to test it! 🖤
I really like the Urban Decay hydromaniac tinted moisturizer for foundation. I live in a dry climate and have combo skin. This doesn't make look shiney, and has just enough moisture to not look flat like a lot of other foundations.
My sister and I went to the midnight showings of each of the Twilight movies. Her and I were both intrigued by this.... enough time has gone by to spark nostalgia. I'm trying to do a low buy for the first half of this year. We'll see how that goes lol.
Of all the high end and drugstore foundations I have tried, the one that is ‘no fail’ and I actually get compliments on my skin when I wear is L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear.
I use the Lancome Teint Idol foundation. I have 250W in the old formula and it was my holy grail for the last 10 years, but I've heard the color numbers have changed and I haven't tried the new formula yet. The other 2 things I use for foundation when I want to be flawless are either the Sephora collection serum concealer, which I can customize the coverage based on how much I use, and the Rituel de Fille 3 drops foundations is one of my favorites right now I would really like to try the Haus Labs foundation and the About -Face one
Hi Andrea! I have super dry acne prone skin but I LOVE the L’Oréal age perfect radiant serum foundation. It’s the perfect coverage without being cakey and lasts all day for me. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing! 🥰 I honestly feel like the drugstore does such a good job with their foundations. I rarely like a high-end foundation better than the drugstore!
I'm so curious about the Tarte concealer. It looks so different though so I'll wait to see reviews. Have you tried that new covergirl skin tint with the little balls of pigment? Jen Phelps loves it but she's got dry skin so I'm curious what your opinion is. My favourite foundation is the YSL All Hours one because it always looks nice and I can adjust the coverage and finish.
Love you do these videos Andréa! I’m not one to go for Tarte much, but those new palettes are actually very pretty..I’ve been traveling with my husband and 2 sons the last 2 years, (they work together) and this would be so nice to take on the go…Love the tones they chose too..My go to foundation that I can depend on no matter what is the L’Oréal pro glow…No matter what I can wear it everyday or use if for more going out and it looks beautiful on my skin.. I love my high end foundations but I can count it always..They make the matte one as well if you have never tried it!
Thanks for mentioning that Sephora kit - I just grabbed one before they sell out !! These kits are here today gone tomorrow Don’t have a go to foundation - still looking - I probably have 12 or so to get through (not loving any of them) then I’ll try again 😣
3 drugstore liners that are very noticeably brown, not just dark neutral: physician formula eye booster liquid in deep brown, elf eyeliner pen in coffee (thin formula that can bleed tho, but gorgeous color), & af94 backliner in cowboy code (gorgeous absolutely gorgeous, a bit too light for me but too pretty not to wear, like lightly shimmery dark leather). And noy drugstore, but the persona waterproof pencil in brown is def brown, and plum looks like a burgundy brown on me.
I have mature skin and I usually use wet n wild skin tint. I really would love to find a foundation that is a natural skin finish, but so far nothing I've tried works for me...maybe the new about face one, I will wait on reviews. ❤
I was on About Face’s website for the first time the other day - I’m intrigued. I really want to try a few of their things. Those liquid eyeshadows look perfect for a one and done eye look.
Honestly, their liquid eyeshadows are so good! I don’t usually like matte liquid shadows, but their formula is so smooth and easy to work with that I end up, preferring them over shimmery liquid shadows.
Happy New Year Andrea! You are one of my Favs 😊❤. As far as foundation goes, I don’t wear liquid foundation anymore. I wear stick foundations and love them! I wear either Merit or Basma. I feel like I get nice light/medium coverage. I also use a powder foundation as well. I have to admit … I splurged.. lol. I use the Chantecaille Powder foundation. It is absolutely the best powder foundation I ever tried 😊
I have the worst luck with foundation too. I still buy them all tho. My go to is the L’Oréal freshwear. It ALWAYS looks good. The Tom ford foundation stick surprised me with how skin like it actually is but it’s so expensive
My favorite foundation is the Tarte Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream. It's a hydrating comfort matte medium coverage formula with mineral SPF. That new About Face foundation appears to have a decent shade range for olive complexions which is surprisingly rare. I have a friend who has been struggling to find her perfect olive-toned shade so I'll share the launch info with her. 👍
That’s really good to know! I’ve thought about purchasing that Tarte CC cream on more than one occasion! I will have to try it out. I’ve heard a few people who have olive complexions say they are looking forward to trying the about face launch too!
For longwear/all day foundation: too faced matte foundation. So amazing Everyday i was using nars tinted moisturizer, but i got the mini laura mercier oil free tinted moisturizer and wow 😱
I love that Twilight palette so much, and I have not been into palettes at all this year, focusing so much on my singles (literally bought two palettes this year, and technically one was a gift). I don't think I will buy it since I have never bought from Colourpop but I can appreciate it from afar.
Love your channel. Excellent video as always! Kylie Cosmetics does have a nice eyeshadow palette I think it is called Bronze palette. I have it. I wanted a nude and was sent that by mistake. I use it. I have a lot of palettes. All high end.
Yes! If you want a super long lasting formula, try the hard candy lip liners. They are only available at Walmart but if you have access to them, they are amazing! If you want a creamy formula and a lot of shade options, I would go with ColourPop. NYX Line Loud liners are a good balance between the two. They are creamy, but they dry down and lock your lip product into place!
The ND lipstick looks really nice. I didn't think Twilight was still a thing, I was never into it, I was part of the Potterheads but I remember people at school were crazy about it. The Fenty concealer looks pretty interesting, I kind of want to try it but I already have so many open at the moment so it will have to wait
I always had a bunch of go to foundations that I absolutely loved but now that I have mature skin, I can’t find one for my every day foundation. I have a hard time finding any I even like.
I am really curious about the smashbox face palette but I can't find it in Canada so not sure what thats about. They closed their Canadian website too which means it's even harder to find things. The summer Fridays lip oil sounds so good I want the same colour you mentioned. I got the small kit to try them and now I am hooked. I love my dior backstage face and body foundation that one doesn't let me down but due it being skin like you have to be okay with being lighter coverage but it layers pretty well.
@@AndreaMatillano I don't think they had a lot in stock at ULTA for some reason and they don't usually restock IP collabs. I'm not a Twilight fan so I don't have major FOMO over anything. I want the black and blue lip oils but I'll be okay if I miss out. 😂
Hey Andrea, I've seen "Twilight" before. Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, squeezed the plastic ketchup bottle twice while being at the diner with her father. I like squeeze bottles.
My favorite foundation is the Laura Mercier Real Flawless foundation. Part of it is that I found an excellent match, but it is the one I compare all other foundations against.
@@streetfamily6909 - They launched a foundation a few years ago with a ton of light shades and only two medium shades and one deep shade, and swatched them all on a POC's arm in the ad. Also recently some POC influencers went on some Tarte brand trips and felt that they were treated differently than non POC influencers on the trip.
