NEW Martin Dreadnought Junior Guitar Review in Singapore 

You are the most informative reviewer of guitars online. I always look to your channel for reviews before a purchase. You not only give the facts but the feel, touch, sound and even sometimes the smell of the instrument. As a senior player a smaller guitar is important as dexterity and finger stretching becomes more difficult as we age yet, I have been reluctant to purchase the GS mini or the baby or even BBT guitars because of the boxy sound. As a left handed player I often purchase online because you seldom see a left hand guitar in the local shops to try in person. We south paws rely heavily on reviews like yours before we make a purchase. And, you're the best online reviewer of them all. I just purchased a Dreadnought Jr today because you seemed so very impressed with it and gave varied extensive listening examples.

Love the tone of the guitar. I like how you played plenty of songs with it to showcase different styles, and it sounds pretty good even with just a condenser mic.

After watching all your videos on the Martin d jr 1 and 2 I decided to get the 1 :) I just love that crisper sound it gives over the jazzy muddy sound the 2 gives. Thanks for doing these awesome videos

As so many others said - lovely playing. I have this Martin Junior and it truly is a gorgeous instrument - all solid woods as well at such a great price. Can I ask if you were playing it with the Martin strings that it comes with? I wasn't too keen on them but your sound is brighter. Very clear views of your left hand as well for those who wants to try the same licks and chord sequences. Great demo. Many thanks.

Nice Martin tone on a relatively inexpensive guitar. "Song for Clarice" sounds beautiful even on the 15th fret. It shows Martin is doing great workmanship, even on their lower-level models. Great review, Jarvis!

Hi Jarvis , I didnt nead the mikrofon so I switch too bone nut and pinns and the guitar become amazing! A totaly different sound and the sustain is great , so many Thanks to you for My second hand Martin Jr. Peter in Sweden

I own many high end guitars and picked up a used 2014 Martin D JR for travelling. I tried it against the new 2020 Martin D Jr and the Taylor GS Mini. The most noticeable thing is that the old Martin D JR model sounds like a full size guitar. Also, it's super easy to play (plays kind like a Les Paul.) I can't put it down...

Sounds great...Your mic tone is perfect and captures the natural acoustic resonance and complexity here. I had the GS, but sold it to buy the DJR which in my opinion it blows the Taylor GS mini tone-wise. All solid and will only get better with age. I replace the saddle with FMI and use light Elixirs. Excellent review and lovely composition. I bought this guitar today WITHOUT the electric pickup. Good price fora Martin. Question: I am used to lower action so I want to get the bridge lowered and go to LIGHT gauge strings...PLlease give me your opinion on that....I may sacrifice some bass but that's ok withme....what do you think? Several years ago I had a lot of money and had 4 Martins...3 HD-28s and a D-45. The HD 28 sounded better then the D45....sold those long ago...oh well.....I thinkthe D Junior is amazing forthe price but do not like the action...needs tobe lower I think...especially as you move up the neck.... THANk!! ....l

The 1 3/4 nut width made me interested. Versatile for both fingerstyle and strumming. If you really don't care about brand names, but focus solely on tone and comfort in playing I really wonder if this is worth better than the Cort Grand Regal you reviewed recently.

hi Jarvis nice review on the Martin dr junior ! i have a question ,how to maintain a natural oil finished guitar? can you polish it? all my guitars are polished and i having second thoughts on buying the guitar because i don't know how it will hold up in time . Is the pickup any good or should i upgade to a better one since i intend to use it live on a pa system .

Hi Jarvis, need you genius suggestion.. what strings can you recommend for this Martin DJr? I am using coated daddario exp light guage. I am experiencing buzzing in open D and A strings and i hate it. Thank you for your help.

I think I just found exactly what I need - smaller size but not so prominently small as taylor mini. Wider nut width, affordable all solid MARTIN... I was checking taylor mini gs reviews and I couldn't hear low E string in any of those reviews, I understand it is small body guitar but low end is just terrible even with high quality recording and probably post recording enhancements and boosting. Taylor has more clear sound to my ear, especially higher notes and first 3, 4 strings, but martin still has more balanced overall sound because you can hear high notes on Martin to a decent level, but no low end on Taylor. And narrow nut on taylor is not very comfortable for me. Taylor looks better though, and that gig bag is way more practical. But, you can change bag, on the other hand there is no way to add a bass to a guitar, you can't switch tops :) martin is a winner here.

Hi! I bought Martin Djr 1 month ago. Few days ago I found that my guitar has buzzing on high frets (on frets where neck joins body at). I thought that I need to low the action, but I found that string height at 12th fret (capo on 1st) is 1/10 inch, not 1/8. I tried to low the action, but I couldnt make ideal 1/8 inch string height, but when I lowed the action I have more 'buzzing' frets. What I need to do? What ideal string height at this model?

Too many guitar players think that dreadnoughts are all about volume and bang away on the strings as hard as they can. I was guilty of that for years myself. You totally understand the magic that can be found in a dreadnought by using a light touch.

Wow! Whatta trip for the Dr Jr. All the way from it's birthplace in Navajoa, Sonora, Mexico to Singapore. Worth the trip to be heard by potential customers, Even tho this is a 15/16ths sized Martin the sound is larger. I own a Martin DRS1 dred and it punches out of its weight class. With all the zillions of $ in Martin banking acct, they continue to escalate the price of their guitars. Almost $9,000.00 for their D45s? Working G musicians can't afford Martin upper end guitars!!!! My pal Wayne bought a 68 model D35 in 69 and paid $550.00 USD. Same model now? +$3,000.00 Martin. Luv yer guitars. Hate your prices. $300.00 Dr Jrs for $599.00 + tax? Get real Chris. Theres a Pandemic afoot. 12,000,000 people unemployed.

What is a real drag with guitars of this kind is the battery holder comes loose and starts to flop around on the inside or you have to renew the battery.......in both cases you have to go rummaging around in that hole like an AI man sticking his hand up a cow's ass......external battery slot so much more preferable
