I beg to differ... you will find many companies that look better and over spend on cosmetics but you will not find anything that equates to the finess and sound reproduction capabilities of McIntosh.
@George Blisson true that Dan D'Agostino is better looking. His amps are the equivalent of a Pagani hypercar interior but it also costs 10+ times more than a Mcintosh. My system is all Mcintosh and Oppo but if I had the money for D'Agostino no doubt I would have gotten that instead.
That Home Theater Dude yeah deffo. I know it would be such a great match with my Dali Epicon speakers. I will 100% be considering Mac when I upgrade my amp but will only be able to afford to buy second hand.
Beautiful. That (200 watts) is a lot of power. Do many people actually need that much in a normal house audio setup? If so, how many of them now have hearing loss? ; ) I know you need power for certain kinds of speakers, but I cannot see using anything near 200...
I wouldn’t listen to that guy if he was selling hotdogs. McIntosh equipment is another story. Nostalgic and very different. The craftsmanship is meticulous. Very pricey , but you get what you pay for in this world. Thanks for the vid👍🏻
That Home Theater Dude looks like your heading for great things. Believe and it will happen. That’s all it takes. Ignore stupid comments or negative likes. Your dedication will bring you more and more affiliates. The top dogs will notice and that will be your blessing. There is nothing like sight and sound. As much as video is stimulating ... sound is what brings all things to life. 👍🏻
cool beans! my phone and emails are blowing up after this event. people want me to film their stuff. maybe i can parlay some kickbacks. maybe i can do giveaways with them too :)
COMMISH is back again, love the info, by the by, it would have been good prior to the start of recording if you scouted the booth, check out some gear and the proceeded to ask for details. instead of constantly asking the presenter if there is something else he wishes to talk about. keep up the good work.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Mac is famous for using autoformers on everything. It is their house sound. Most Class D amps are based on modules from Hypex or ICEpower.
This is not likely to be class D. This is direct coupled so no autoformers. Their amps typically don’t work for the speakers I like due to autoformers.
Love the Mcintosh products. I use the older MC2600 amp paired with a C40 and that unit is a beast. 2x600 watts at 2, 4 or 8 ohms, it just doesen't give a damn :)
Not a fan of the so called "class D sound". That being said, McIntosh is one of the very few companies that does everything above and beyond reproach. Can't wait to audition on of these bad boys and have my audio-fool prejudices shattered.
Can tubes stand 24/24h use for 2 or 3 years without significant degradation in sound rendering? The last time I checked, the answer was no. Any change in that regard? This is a personal question, I know that most people don't use their power amp that way.
tubes by design are repacable and consumable parts. they arent supposed to last forever. Do you have an incandecent lightbulb in your house that you use 24 hours a day for 3 years?
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Thanks for the answer, but if I may you missed what the question inferred which is - if yes, then how much time will it last? That's one of the problem of tubes. So let say it's 24/24, how many time a year would I change the tubes before sonic degradation? This is not a set up question, but a real technical one. And behind all of this i was asking, has there been change or amelioration in the life of tubes?
high end audio is in deep crisis, it is related to global saturation of market and everything, new this, new better that, you must buy, buy. There is nothing new and better in amps like that. I bet older Mac models have identical or even better sound and overall quality, no stupid greel led backlight on tubes and shit like that.
And that's not all folks ,it comes with a good dose of snobbery. Yes just like the salesman you'll encounter when buying overpriced esoteric audio equipment, it doesn't know that a new top of the line Sony integrated amp sounds just as good.
what? i think it looks dope. Its a hybrid amp and it shows. The little brother the MA252 has done exceptionally well. Thats why they made a newer more powerful amp
Sad he didn’t talk about how McIntosh gets their ass handed to them sonically by NAD and other brands in that price bracket. Or that they didn’t have their integrated amplifier tube turntable there for the world to laugh at. Or their “soundbar” solution
** have you seen square wave graphs? Or literally any graphs between the two? McIntosh doesn’t even make their own turntables. Cleerwater makes them. McIntosh is a joke for the money.
** if I had the money to buy their shit ass products I’d spend it on Boulder. Way better for the money. And if you like tubes then buy B.A.T. not McIntosh. For that kind of money everything better be solid state and pure as hell. It better be as close to original sound as you can get not colored by tubes and other shit.
Joe Maldonado it looks like you never had a REALLY good tube amplifier in life..... so just don’t try it and keep “happy” with your own who-knows-what-it-is amplifier....
