In this video I'll be building and taking a close look at the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Mega Construx Godzilla! 0:00 Unboxing 1:45 Build 4:53 Details & Articulation 8:34 Size Comparisons
I am not a Lego fanboy. Not at all. So we gave mega a try with some pokemon sets. And to be honest... i was dissapointed. The plastic feels cheaper and the force that keeps parts together was very weak in some areas. Or it was the building technique that lead to tension. Maybe it was bad luck and other sets are better, but i would be very hesitent with buying more sets from them.
I had no idea Mega had the Godzilla licence. A Godzilla was just in the final round of Lego Ideas consideration so I thought the licence was available.
It’s better. Lego would make this cost more and the articulation wouldn’t be good. And also their would be no military accessories because Lego doesn’t allow them.
I made a moc inspired by the RU-vidr chubby bots in my free time, and I really recommend it. Not only does it look good but it also looks like a real set.
Excellent video!!! At first I was only going to get Kong, but I’m pretty impressed with how Godzilla looks, my only problem so far are his hands are super tiny. Other than that he looks pretty good.
It’s honestly y a bit of a shame they’re not detailed like they used to be (at least back when they were Mega Bloks. Their stuff was insanely detailed, and their little human figures and even other creatures had even more articulation than legos)
@@dubuzzi9217 true and also Drogon has some decent sculpt detail, so in that case why can’t Godzilla and Kong as well? Would it be too “SHMA” in appearance or something ?
@@yuyaricachimuel555 You have to consider the piece count restrictions, license approvals, and intended demographic of the set itself. Drogon was based on a show aimed at mature audiences, they'd know that the target demographic would be adults and they'd be expecting a premium item. The Godzilla and Kong kits are made for young teens and are designed for play rather than display.
@@cfighter95 yeah but again did you see their older lines from back when they were Mega Bloks? Holy shit they put LOADS of detail in everything they made….
Y'know, imo because I did enjoy Mega Bloks/Construx alot ever since I was a kid? I did thought it would've been alot cooler if Mega Construx's Monsterverse sets were more like the Breakout Beasts figures which I also thought were cool sets since they remind me of Dragons abit but due to them being giants after all? I can see why they'd want to make Godzilla and Kong as brickbuild-type monster sets lol.
I want to see if you can modify the head where it doesn’t look perpetually like straight up or just straight like the bend the neck like you just move the head like two clicks down and like when he’s had his body straight like it looks way much better instead, like yeah, the bend his body to make him look straight ahead I wish there was like you could do that ball joint into the head to make it more straight like that that’s just me. Can you do that if you could
Thank you man,the only thing I don't rlly like abt it is the fact he can't move his head,as in the top and bottom jaws to look down or something,he is kinda stuck looking straight
Mega is pretty great. i prefer them to LEGO so much more just because of the articulation of the figures. also, Halo is pretty fukin cool. it sucks that a lot of LEGO fanboys blindly hate on it. also sucks that LEGO are real scumbags about shelf space. and it sucks that it's just seen as a LEGO knock-off, which implies bad quality. but they're actually just as good.
yeah I could have made that part a bit more clear. on the first leg section above the foot there is a slope piece on the front and a slope piece on the back and both are pointing down towards the foot, one is shorter one is longer, so I just switched those two pieces with each other
Ngl, it is kind of ironic that I'm usually the only one that enjoyed both Lego and Mega equally even if I didn't have much fun with Lego anymore like I use to when Bionicle,Hero Factory, and Exo-Force were around back then, tho' then again that one Lego theme based on Journey To The West since it also had a cartoon back in 2020 was the only new Lego theme I count on lol.
I 've done a lot of the Pokemon sets and they are awesome, I've also done a few of the halo sets like the needler, and the chief helmet and those are good. Just did the MOTU Skeleton which was rad. I was excited for these but when I saw the actual designs I lost my interest in the designs.
