I think this car is the reason why some are skittish about the GT, but from those who've driven both, they say the GT is NOT the SL; they are completly different. Enjoyed your video
not gonna lie I would really like to get my hands on one of these to test out(and do a photoshoot with) at some point. I've always been a big bmw fan and mroe recently a huge porsche fan, but this might be the first SL I REALLY like from an aesthetics and interior perspective. It strikes me as something that is a level above an M8 or vantage but a level below a DB11 or portofino m but doesn't exactly make sense to someone looking to buy a 911 GTS Cab so it almost makes no sense which is why it could make so much sense. It strikes me as more of a luxury roadster that happens to be fast than a luxury sports car.
Yea man… my issue with this car though is that it is slow and quiet. I think a tune and Downpipes would fix the problem. My problem I guess is that I’m used to crazy shit, which I this is far from. I can see why people would buy this, but I wouldn’t…
These are ugly compared to the 2002-2008 era of SLs. New Mercedes have no identity on the road. In my 2004 AMG SL I turn heads everywhere I go. 11:15 that looks like a Toyota with a rear spoiler
Love the video but they should have just done a refresh of the 02-08 body style, I saw one of these yesterday and omg they are ugly, give me an 02-08 sl55 amg, or even Sl600 biturbo over these anyday... Jeezuz,

Excellent and honest review and a killer intro bro. I agree with your take on this car. To me there’s only one great SL - the W113. It rocks my old-man soul.

A 911 all day every day. And 469HP from a 4.0 twin turbo V8 is laughable. A C8 Corvette is a better car than this. Great video review but Mickey, never shave your beard. It gave you that champagne Papi if you know what I mean.

Excellent review, Mick! It is a beautiful car, inside and out, but I would want the 63 not the 55--if I could afford it, which I can't...but you got the lack of passion down perfectly. Would be great if you could test the 63 to see if the added power makes a difference. It doesn't always, Porsche Turbo vice GT3 being a great example. But in this case, it may.
I think this car straight piped with a tune would be a monster. The 63 has the big daddy turbo's. I'm sure the power makes a difference. I will see if I can get my hands on one. I still think I would go AMG GTR convertible all day at these price points.
@@MiamiMiles there is not AMG GTR convertible produced anymore. This blends the old SL with the GTC & the S Class drop top. The SL63 is advertised at 3.6 0-60, but has been regularly tested doing it in 3.0-3.1. I think that would be enough to make that "punchyness" we'd like
