Sure was a great day! Not too cold or too hot! That area is a bit higher in elevation so I haven't had a chance to go back there. Hopefully sometime in May or June I'll get to re-visit
I'm so late....woke at 2am, started work at 3am, made awesome money, and now going through 18hrs of what i missed on RU-vid lol. You end my day haha, cheers 🍻 ❤ So for me, i always dig at the front inside edge, and pan it...if there's color- i sluice, if nothing- i reassess lol. Sometimes we need to look at where the creek flowed prior to where it is now. Awesome outing!

We have similar rules with nature reserves. High bankers are totally banned. A good dam is very important when there is little water. A beautiful piece of gold emerged from all the black sand. Well done, pal 🇩🇪⚒👍🤠
Yeah High Bankers aren't allowed here either and it drives me nuts! I pretty much was a bit limited on time on this trip so it was a fairly quick hit and run. Will be headed back to this location sometime in a couple months. Thanks for coming by!
Absolutely! There were a million of them there I could have been picking them all day! I make my tea with a small peice of clove, cinnamon and the hips. Good stuff right there!
I did not know that about national forest and wilderness areas. Nice to know. We used to have slushes that had a thin piece of carpet in them. That was many years ago though. Yeah I have a plug kit too I carry. Just trying to kind of puck one thing at a time. Just wish I could find a solution for the rubber cement that always evaporates before you need to use it on the plugs 🤣

I wonder if the conversation would be like 2 fisherman would have. Or is it closley guarded weather you are having any success or not. Ha! Yes close encounters can be a bit like reverse polarity with two magnets most of the time. Usually the common dialog doesn't provide much information on how much was exactly found. But typically we go to an area, work the ground as hard as we can to concentrate the material down while on site, then take it home to finish the process. So really, asking someone while they are out working, they really don't know (or do they hahaha) so it creates alot that gets left to the imagination. I can tell you this though, there is quite the cast of characters that work thr claims over here in Santa Fe County... 🤣
I'm curious if that piece came from the top material. I know it sounds a bit weird. But that material is obviously flood material. The gold looked quite big and flat. I'd try panning the top material, and some from below the organics in the same spot. I have a feeling that nice flat stuff may be on top. We have had this happen here this year. All the waters made multiple floods. Which has layered gold on top. Gold can't get thru the vegetation in the top layers. I've had nice pans once I figured that out over here. Heavy pans Goldpan and Suntan! ✨️🤜🤛
Wow what a great question! Yeah I don't really know exactly if it came off the top part or down lower. My suspicion was from down lower. But you have me thinking here about what you said.... I'm going to have to check that when I go back here in a couple months

I have heard tales that a crazed southern New Mexico guy, under the influence of the demon nicotine and caffeine, might have actually done fairly extensive sluice work in the Gila Wilderness, and the crazy b*stard may have done it in the Aldo Leopold as well. Rumor has it he escaped without being beaten down. Shocking behavior. 🙂 Cool video as always man.

@@Goldpan-SuntanNM In Australia we have this stuff in like an aerosol can what pumps up your tyre and I believe it even seals the hole. But I think it can only do the single repair.
Been traveling every single week for work and it's been brutal on my free time but I saw yesterday from a UPS notification that a new sheriff has arrived in my one horse town.
