Hey there, it support USB-C accessories that are also thunderbolt 4 compatible i.e a dock but if it wouldn't support a thunderbolt accessory such as an external GPU if that makes sense?
I do a lot of CAD work. Would the Surface X Pro, withe the LCD display, still be clear enough to do CAD? Also, when the 5G is available, will it be able to add it to my existing Surface? is it just a software upgrade? Or would I have to buy an entirely new Surface?
As far as I know you would have to buy a new surface because the ones being release in June do not come with the necessary hardware. LCD should be fine for CAD, what I would be more concerned about is the compatibility of the new ARM chips with your software.
Great responses, 5G is a hardware component so you cannot add it to your existing Pro. Performance wise the benchmarks suggest it could run CAD but the emulation still needs to be tested. I will test it out when I get my hand on these new units but Koreken is right, you might be better off with Surface for Business units that have Intel
