To be clear; yes, you can use the Ghost "antenna" with the MTX575 however, it is not P&P with the out-of-the-box antenna cable! You will need to purchase the MXTA24 cable to be used with the Ghost Antenna.

We haven’t done one yet but the problem lies in where we had our power zip tied under the hood. It was zipped to the ECU wire cluster. We unzipped and separated the wires for the radio and now everything works perfectly!

Sorry you were disappointed. Yes, you're correct. No test, it's a license and that's what was indicated in this video. For more information on GMRS licensing > apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do There are options to take radio comm classes for using GMRS and they don't require testing. We have instructors at our events speak on radio communications and offer training, so yes, classes are available to "learn more about GMRS" without testing. And yes, we know Ham requires testing before you can be licensed. And the antenna is mounted on a flat metal surface for testing currently, as seen in the video. A large metal plane will most certainly be the best surface to mount the antenna.

Sounds like user error or maybe a bad install. We haven’t experienced any problems with ours. Navigating the menus is also not a problem. Care to expand on your comment?

@@msoverland all i can tell you is the fact they have charts to convert tones to thier own special way of programing is annoying. I accept my age as adding to my stupid factor . Add a micro chicom instruction manual into the mix and wellllll. Shakes head. Now id let it rest but when complaining on a fb gmrs group the number of others with like complaints who programed other units like myself made me wonder WHY MIDLAND DID THIS. thank goodness my idiot proof btech is here today.
